For my set, code-named 'Body' I'm developing a few new cards and wanted to get a bit of feed back. One thing I'm hitting is the abilities for a legendary sniper creature So far I've got these abilities which might be flavorful:
T: ~ deals 1 damage to target creature.
Damage dealt by ~ doesn't leave the stack at the end of steps, turns or phases (is ability is always in effect)
[mana cost] Forecast: ~ deals 1 damage to target creature
When searching your library you may pay [mana cost]. If you do, reveal ~ and ~ deals 1 damage to target creature.
only one card named ~ is allowed per deck
Ok... here's some more:
U
Sorcery
All creatures become artifact creatures in addition to any other types they may have. (this effect dosen't end at e.o.t)
Affenity just got a wet dream.
Next and almost the last is an ability for a pumped up PainBringer:
[Tap], Remove any number of cards in your graveyard from the game: Target creature gets -X/-X until end of turn, where X is the number of cards removed this way, then remove up to X target cards in that players graveyard from the game. [This] deals 1 damage to itself for each creature card removed this way.
Thinking 3BB would be a good cost for something like this on perhaps a 3/3 body.
The next card on our stop is a blatant tribute to mindslaver. Its flavor is essentially an instructor in the arts of magic, one such way to educate is to overtake the student.
~ comes into play tapped with two Teach counters on it.
[Mana cost], [tap], Remove a teach counter: You control target player's next turn.
When ~ has no more teach counters on it, remove ~ from the game.
Needs a bit of work but it's rather solid IMO.
I'll be posting some card ideas here and their, now and again for some feedback before I make the card I'll balance it out first. (saves a lot of time) and you guys are quite good at this. Thanks!
[sorry if I seem a tad scatter brained.]
Brian Tinsman, Set Designer :?mana::snow::snow:
Legendary Creature – Human Designer (MR)
Brian Tinsman, Set Designer can only be cast during the third set of a block.
When Brian Tinsman, Set Designer enters the battlefield, ignore all flavor and mechanics of the first two sets in the block. "Ok so what do we have here... gothic horror? Scrap it. Expand the Devine Vs. Demonic duel deck to 244 cards and print it!"

card draw after the take over. I quite like that idea. ;p
Next I'll 'treat' you to a card that's actually 'finished':
Ms. Slice n' Dice3BR
Legendary Creature - something stabby
Bushido 2, double-strike
Whenever ~ deals damage to a creature put a -1/-1 counter on that creature. (it)

Mr. Slice and Dice's last ability seems a bit redundant. I mean, 2/2 w/Bushido 2 and dbl. strike will deal 8 damage in creature combat. Why would you want to tack a -1/-1 counter on top of that? I mean, it it was smaller, the -1/-1 would make a difference, but 8 damage kill almost anything anyway.
it's 4, then a -1/-1. then another 4 followed by a -1/-1

ok, my bad. Still, 4 damage kills most of the critters out there, and I maintain that the -1/-1 ability is more interesting on a small creature who actually cannot kill most of the critters he fights with.
That ability is planned for a carry over on a smaller creature as well; it's a 'mechanic' for one perticular type or ceature in the set.

I was trying to make her UW but she's slowly shifted to R, I think I might tack on "Damage can't be prevented" I'd hate that but it would lower the cost and keep her from being black (which is currently saturated)
any say on any of the others?

Is your sniper going to have ALL of those abilities, or just some? If it is all, then it has too many. I think I like the forecast ability and the regular ping abilities the best in combination. Maybe change one or both to deal more damage to tapped creatures. With all those abilities, he's way over the top.
I was going to go with ping, search and forcast. :/

is a sorcery due to it just making what's in play artifacts, if it was an enchantment everything would become an artifact.

Tip the Scales :4mana::symwg:
Sorcery (U)
Players count up the number of permanents they control. (Lands, creatures, artifacts, ect.) Then the player with the least amount of that type may search their library for an amount of cards, that if added to theirs, equals the player with the highest number and put them into play. Those players then shuffle their libraries.

Now that's an interesting card. Although I think the wording could be:
The player controls the fewest creatures may search their library for creature cards and put those cards into play until he or she controls the same number of creatures as the player who controls the most. Repeat this process for the player who controls the fewest permanents of each type. (The types of permanent are lands, creatures, artifacts, and enchantments.)
Kinda like a reverse Balance meets Eureka? Except I think you might have to add some sort of clause about controlling at least 1 permanent of a type to be able to search for more, so nobody plays with just a few creature, enchantment, artifact, etc. just to get all the "goods" when they (surprise!) haven't drawn/played one of those kinds yet.
