With my luck this is already a card..but. Is this too powerful as an instant?

Target creature deals damage equal to its power to another target creature. ”My reputation precedes me. My enemies are dead before I arrive."
That's the kind of spell WotC makes with a "Tap target creature you control. It deals damage equal to its power to target creature" clause. However, even if it didn't have a "tap target creature" part it would still be fair if it said, "you control."
Otherwise it could get a little silly - strictly better than those spells that have a target creature do its power damage to it or those spells that tap a creature you control to do damage to another creature.
I think the double R cost makes up for it being an instant.

Yeah, I leftthose things off of the card on purpose.
Image the power of a creatre being able to pick off another without tapping, as an instant:
...Before attacks, just before you untap or on top of the stack when a spell or ability targets the host creature ...
It is certainly a nasty card. With flavor too :smile2: Toshiro Umezawa would double the pleasure.
Should maybe be a Rare at :symr::symr::symr: .

The problem with red is that it doesn't tap (black doesn't tap either, so why is Backlash so? I'd imagine tap and damage to be :symu:/:symr:) I like the card as three mana is the most I'd use for a burn spell (save for Urza's Rage), and this one is pretty high-end. It's rarity is good to make it so it occurs enough but not too much.

Target creature deals damage equal to its power to another target creature.
Your version is better in three ways.
- Instant
- 3 mana instead of 4 (nobody wants to spend 4 on creature kill)
- Doesn't require the creature to tap.
In some cases, you're using an opponent's creature to deal the damage, so you'd RATHER it tap. But still, I think your card is fair, and would finally make Deadshot playable.
It's alot better than Deadshot, but not so much that it needs to be nerfed.
1RR is fine, but maybe it should be sorcery speed. I don't think this is that much more powerful than any good 3cc red removal spell I can think of. I mean if your playing monor and you spend 1RR you probably just killed a creature amirite?
So cost is okay... speed is questionable (sorc/inst) and mechanic is solid.
This effect is in flavor for red, since red is all about temporary control. In this case, you temporarily control target creature's power, and apply it as damage. I like it as RRR and instant speed. That's my interpretation anyhow.
Well, it would essentually let you kill any creature (with, I admit, a few exceptions) for 3, and black, the best creature destruction color, does it for 2 with a drawback... I'd say eather RRR or 2RR.
