An urgent message came through from Feline 9, a class K planet far from here. One of our best ships, the Kittehprise, stopped there for a routine checkup. Shortly after arriving, they received a message from the Bee Collective, a terrible group of barely-alive kittehs who consider themselves as one. Apparently, the Bee Collective arrived at the planet with the sole purpose of recruting all kittehs on the planet that are worth recruiting and killing the rest, as is their modus operandi. The majority of its inhabitants left the ship before word came through of the hostile takeover, and there are only 12 left on board. We've intercepted some communications between the Kittehprise and the Bee ship, and we know that some on board the Kittehprise are planning to overtake the ship and, eventually, join the Bee. They plan to take out those that are wanting to fight the Bee and takeover the ship. It is to be a Bee ship when all is said and done. This cannot be, so we are in the process of sending backup to prevent this, but it will take days, maybe even weeks to arrive at their location.
All we can hope for is that those that are still loyal to Kitteh Fleet will see through this ruse and defend the ship.
Welcome to Kitteh Trek Mafia!
A Game for 12 players.
Please review the following rules before you agree to the commitment that is a mafia game.
RULES (swiped and modified from Syrenz who stole them from Skander who stole them from Ace):
1. Have fun! Also, make sure that you respect the other players in the game.
2. The moderator for this game MandersHex.
3. Please bold your votes/unvotes like this: Vote loran16 and Unvote loran16. Only bolded votes (or votes otherwise distinguished from your normal text formatting, provided that the particular formatting of the vote remains constant) will be counted.
Unvoting is required to change your vote.
4. Lynches will be caused by majority votes. Once the last vote required to lynch a person is placed, that lynch is locked in, and no amount of unvoting will affect it. Once the last vote is placed, the game is in a stage called Twilight. The mod may also officially announce Twilight. Players may continue posting until the mod announces that night has begun. If a majority vote for a No Lynch (Vote No Lynch), then the day will end with nobody being lynched.
5. Please do not edit or delete your posts. If a player is found to have edited or deleted one of their posts, that player will immediately lose the game and be replaced or modkilled, depending on the circumstance. On the same note, please do not use invisitext.
6. Please do not post during the night, or when you are dead. The one exception to this rule is the “bah” post, a single post with no game-related information in it which you may make immediately following your death. This is usually just the word “bah”. I ask that you restrict yourself to just the word "bah", saying any more than that might unintentionally give away information that should not be revealed. Comical pictures stating Bah are also allowed.
7. Please do not talk about this game outside of this thread, unless your role allows you to (this applies also to talking about any other active games in this thread). If your role does allow this, the discussions must take place in a QuikTopic thread or otherwise approved location. In addition, if you have the ability to talk with other players outside this thread, please only do so at the times outlined in your PM.
8. Nights will usually have an action deadline of 72 hours (3 days), and the following day will begin immediately after that. Days will have deadlines set only at the mod’s discretion. If a day reaches a deadline, and a lynch has not occurred, then the day will end in No Lynch. If a night reaches a deadline, all players with possible actions that haven’t sent one will be counted as not taking an action.
9. Please post regularly. One post every 48 hours is the maximum, but I would prefer an average of around one post per 36 hours (1-2 days) from each of you. Any player who has failed to post in a 48 hour period will receive a prod (via PM). If a player prodded this way then fails to respond to the prod for a further 48 hours, they will lose the game and be replaced. Players may be exempt from the entirety of this rule for periods of time, providing that they have good reason to be, and that they notify the mod well before any period of time where they will be unable to post for any reason. Such players may wish to note that if an absence of more than 168 hours (7 days), you may be better off requesting replacement.
10. If a player has been replaced out for any reason, that player may not continue posting, even if the replacement player has not been found yet.
11. The mod reserves the right to modkill a player, if they believe modkill intervention to be the best course of action, or if they believe that a modkill would be wholly beneficial to the gamestate. Ideally, there will be no need for such intervention, which will only happen in extreme circumstances.
14. Please do not quote your role PM, nor paraphrase too closely. If I believe that a player has done either of these in an attempt to gain an unfair advantage, they will be modkilled. If I believe that a player has done either of this with the intention of being modkilled, modkilling will likely be the least of the punishments. If you have any questions about what you can or can't say, please PM the Mod.
15. Any player that is modkilled for any reason loses the game.
16. Have fun! And:
I feel the need to reiterate one rule because it generally gets broken once each Basic: DO NOT EDIT OR DELETE YOUR POSTS (even for fixing typos or grammar). This will likely result in a modkill.

I don't think it's meant to be empty; it just sounds confusingly written. He should rephrase it before we go throwing votes around, especially about something as nit-picky as random voting.

It should be very apparent that I have a point, but I'm not revealing it yet. Deciding to charge at me because you cannot read between the lines is just silly.

I will allow my actions to answer this question, Mister Kitty. ^^

2) Why do consider WoD's behavior scummy? (i.e. your reason for voting him)
Firstly, overall lack of attention to events up to that point.
Secondly, third Random Voting Stage vote on a person. Is that not a classic tell of mafia behavior?
Thirdly, attempt to continue the Random Voting Stage after two serious votes had been cast.
I will allow my actions to answer this question, Mister Kitty. ^^
How about you just tell me, eh?
Firstly, overall lack of attention to events up to that point.
What events do you refer to?
Secondly, third Random Voting Stage vote on a person. Is that not a classic tell of mafia behavior?
Is it? Can you provide some examples of scum doing this? Why do you think scum would do this? Do you think a scum would expect that he could get an accidental quick lynch off something like this? Please outline exactly why this is a scumtell.
Thirdly, attempt to continue the Random Voting Stage after two serious votes had been cast.
Okay, I'm cool with this one. But this was after you voted him.
I dislike Mister Seal's jumpy behavior. The longer the game goes on, the more conclusive my decision about him will be.
I know it got clouded (and I don't blame you for that), but you criticize WoD for glossing past your post but you glossed over your own attacker without responding. Do you see where your logic is contrary to your behavior?
Secondly, third Random Voting Stage vote on a person. Is that not a classic tell of mafia behavior?
It's not so much the RVS that matters so much as the aloof/brief justification of a vote. It stands at any point in the game and is a fair tell, especially in larger games.
(It's in the mafiascum wiki for one, Syrenz. It's a pretty old tell.)
Primarily the fact that I had also voted Mister Blue and that Mister DoG was willing to overlook that and place another vote on him, as well as ignoring the fact that two serious votes (one on him) had happened prior to it.
Quote from Syrenz »

Which only added to reasons as to why I would like to keep my vote on him, at least for the time being.
I know it got clouded (and I don't blame you for that), but you criticize WoD for glossing past your post but you glossed over your own attacker without responding. Do you see where your logic is contrary to your behavior?
Not so, Mister Pinata. ^^ Firstly, I voted for Mister DoG because I believed I had caught scum. (So quickly? You'd better believe it!) Therefore, Mister Seal's vote on me was completely unjustified. Following that, he unvoted me, not following it up, not pushing me further. This tells me that his vote was either not a serious vote or that he realized I wasn't going to react to his vote. I'm not going to pretend to know Mister Seal's reason for voting me initially, as in, what purpose he hoped to achieve with it. However, the fact that he is tossing his votes around like nobody's business is fairly indicative to me that I should not have taken his own seriously. My logic is not contrary to my behavior, as the situation dictated that our separate responses to being voted were strictly circumstantial.

Being the third vote on somebody is one of the weaker tells, though. It should never be used to build a cake case, but rather be the icing on that cake.
And "Firstly, overall lack of attention to events up to that point." is about the stupidest thing possible to say ON THE FIRST PAGE.

So being the third vote on somebody, let alone in the RVS, is not telling of alignment? How do you figure?
Because if they're random votes, they're devoid of meaning, and everyone recognizes that. How often do people get pushed to claim range off random votes? Try "never". So there's no incentive for the scum to place that vote. If there's no visible incentive, it's not a scum tell.

If you're town and I'm mafia, you've already lost. You just don't know it yet.

Are you calling your vote for DoG a baiting action?
That would make no sense, as if I were attempting to bait with my vote for Mister DoG, I would not still be voting him upon revealing that. My vote for Mister Blue was my baiting vote.
Really? It helps me better assess and understand your play. Now answer.
Primarily the fact that I had also voted Mister Blue and that Mister DoG was willing to overlook that and place another vote on him,
So basically this "lack of attention" adds up to the same thing as being the third vote on the wagon and that is the only justification you are providing for your vote, correct?
as well as ignoring the fact that two serious votes (one on him) had happened prior to it.
Again, this was after your vote and is not relevant to your vote.
I believe Mister Pinata answered this for me, Mister Kitty. ^^
No. You will answer this. Here are the questions again:
- Can you provide some examples of scum doing this?
- Why do you think scum would do this?
-Do you think a scum would expect that he could get an accidental quick lynch off something like this?
-Please outline exactly why this is a scumtell.
Please provide a sufficient answer to each of these questions in your next post or expect my vote to appear on you.

So basically this "lack of attention" adds up to the same thing as being the third vote on the wagon and that is the only justification you are providing for your vote, correct?

No. You will answer this. Here are the questions again:
- Can you provide some examples of scum doing this?
- Why do you think scum would do this?

-Please outline exactly why this is a scumtell.
Please provide a sufficient answer to each of these questions in your next post or expect my vote to appear on you.
