It's making a splash in Standard and Modern. How about Legacy? Think this will boost Maverick or Zoo back up a bit? It's card advantage, board presence, instant speed, and you can respond to things and throw out a Teeg or Thalia or something by digging 6 deep to stop Combos.
Pretty sure BBD could split the top 2 of an IQ with a ham sandwich, though.
It's so darn expensive... I know you have deathrites, but 4 is a lot in a format of wastelands and dazes. Also, he only has 23 creatures, which gives only a 75% chance of hitting two creatures or more. That's 20% of the time where you're pretty disappointed, and 5% more where you're completely shafted (finding nothing). That's really risky.
Like Pod, it feels more like a modern card, where you're both more likely to face attritiony matchups and much, much less likely to face mana denial. Maybe as a sideboard card in green creature decks (elves? Maverick?) for attrition matchups?
I don't think 4 is too much. As for BBD being *that* good, no. He isn't Jon Finkel who actually could be piloting ham and swiss on rye and be in contention. Could fit more creatures in there rather easily honestly as all of his spells can be done with creatures albeit at a higher cost but some of his spells are pretty bad lategame like thoughtseize whereas something like fleshbag marauder, more scullers/brain maggots, etc. etc. wouldn't be the worst lategame. Collected company having a place in legacy wouldn't remotely surprise me simply because we have access to every 3 or less drop in the game. Maybe I just want the deck to catch on because BBD isn't playing brainstorm in there but Co Co is a super neat card in my eyes despite being creature based.

"Yawgmoth," Freyalise whispered as she set the bomb, "now you will pay for your treachery."

I actually think there can be a deck named Ham & Swiss on Rye in Legacy. I picture Mud being called that, for some reason.
I don't for the sole fact that a sandwick in the mud is disgusting. I can't think of any deck being called ham and swiss on rye unless someone built a deck just to evoke that idea flavorwise or something.
Pity company doesn't put the leftovers in the graveyard. I'd be all over putting cabal therapy in the bin alongside 2 creatures that might benefit from sacrificing.
