Bloodbraid Elf - This is the Engine of the deck per-se. The Bloodbraid can play the following for you:
Fulminator Mage - Primarily a blocker or stone rain for tempo when preceded by a Sinkhole. Since he sits on the board, between him, Wasteland and Sinkhole you can take out a chunk of lands in one turn with minimal mana.
Vindicate - This also kills a land but could be better spent blowing up a Counterbalance, Shackels or a Dark Confidant (He's bad for this deck because he gives the opposing player cards - Most importantly lands and other copies of the things you are blowing up. He also does not die to Snuff Out. Vindicate is never a blank when flipped off the Bloodbraid and can remove any troublesome permanent.
Sinkhole - A powerful turn two play. Late game the effectiveness of this card starts to deteriorate.
Pernicious Deed- I put this in to deal with CB Goyf Decks. I can blow their whole board with a deed at 3 and Keep pretty much everything of mine. Except Fulminator Mage.
Ancestral Visions - With the Unmask and the style of the deck, you run out of gas fast. It's good to keep the hand stocked and gives you something to do on turn 1. Half my manabase can make a blue turn 1.
Cards Purposefully out of the Elf's Cascade Curve.
Tombstalker - He can drop early, his inclusion is part of how I cash in on the "more spells than permanents" style of this deck. I also didnt want to cascade into dude. I need to keep the Land D coming to keep the pressure on.
Loxodon Hierarch- This random I know - But I have the white from Vindicate and the green From Bloodbraid. Basically I am looking for life gain- with the Suff Outs, The City of Brass, and the Fetches my life can get eaten away quick. I am open to thoughts here. I don't want finks because it gets in the way of the cascade curve.
Unmask- I didn't want to Bloodbraid into a discard spell but I did feel like I needed one.
Snuff Out - Same idea as above. Snuff out has seen some play recently and it is respectable.
Bituminous Blast - It helps me get into an elf. I would consider lowering the curve and just chopping this. It's very bad in legacy (IMO). But I am including it now for testing. Deny reality was def too slow.
Sideboard
Engineered Plague - Goblins/ Elves/ Merfolk: This can also be flipped to a Bloodbraid (I know multples set on Elf would kill my Bloodbraid but I dont care). I would probably pull Fulminator for this.
Pernicious Deed - Great in the CB match up - I might just throw these in over BBlast.
Krosan Grip - 1 Land Beltcher, CB, Mindslaver Decks.
Chainer's Edict - Progenitus and Other un- targetables.
You will want some more non basic land I think. You probably want a bit more raw power if you are going for this many colours. Is the aim to be a basic control deck? If so then the sinkholes might be a bit out of place (and maybe fulminator mage). If you want an "always useful" cascade card then recoil could fit. Is unmask in just to avoid cascade? If you are going these colours how about thornscape battlemage?
I tagged my deck sorry bout that
Wow- I really dig the Recoil idea! I will do some testing.
