Legacy/standard/modern, ect are all great formats but they are often dominated by aggro, combo, or tempo decks. Sometimes these decks are so fast that you have to find your answer cards quickly before you lose, and games can often be decided based upon who won the die roll.
What if players had more life than 20, say 40. We know in EDH that a completely different set of cards are used, but this is mostly due to the multiplayer nature of the format, not because of life totals.
If a format, like standard or legacy used 40 life over 20, what kinds of decks would people run? Would it just be all control decks, combo decks, lockdown, or something new to prey upon those archetypes.
I think it would be an interesting change from the fast games found in most formats these days.
