It's great it's just a really casual card for it's price, it's only in Alpha Beta and Unlimited.
I got mine for $40 8 years ago, and it's saved me from many a 10+ power trampler. A couple Old Fogeys who I play board games with were saying "that card's power 15!"

It's entirely a budget thing. Most people would probably run it if it were under $10 or even $20, and there are much cheaper alternatives in existance, ie. Maze of Ith, Kor Haven, Ghostly Prison. So while it's certainly a strong card, it's not really necessary for decks.
Maze of Ith is better and you can run it in any deck.
Maze of Ith doesn't tap for mana when you need it to, so they each have their uses.
In my opinion Forcefield is INFINITELY better than Maze of Ith, so long as you have 1 open for it. Why? You can stop multiple creatures per turn (or multiple generals each time around the table), it more importantly it DOESN'T TARGET (hello Progenitus, Uril, etc) so you can literally stop any creature with it.
Absolutely amazing card, and I really plan to buy one as soon as possible.
So I'm working on a Karn EDH deck and browsing other people's lists for ideas, I noticed no one seems to run this card.
Seems awfully good to me. Am I missing something?

Wanted to run Haven but learned I can't use its cost.
My group will probably love this card.
