Anyone catch this new series on Disney X-D?* So far, it seems like it could be the best Marvel cartoon ever. It has top-notch animation and voice acting, as well as a staggering number of characters. I was really impressed by the micro series and the first 2 episodes of the regular series. The word "epic" comes to mind. Anyone else see it?
I've seen it, I must admit it was much better than I anticipated. Although the voice actor for Tony Stark needs to stop trying to sound like RDJ. Why is the Hulk in it? Is he even all that popular?

Haven't seen the show, but I would wager that the Hulk is in it because he's been a longtime member of the Avengers.
It's more that people always overvalue removal. Really, if they make a card ":symb:: Sorcery: As an additional cost, get F'd in the A. Destroy target creature." people will say "removal is removal" and first-pick it.

Yea, but I prefer it when the Hulk solos. Having him as a member of The Avengers always seems to water him down to me. He doesn't seem as compelling when he's doing the tag team thing. Now where did they put the Moon Knight?

Moon Knight is a "Secret Avenger". Obviously we have to wait for Civil War, Secret Invasion, and of course Siege arcs to get to all of that. Oh wait Captain America died in between all that so I guess we'll never see that.

Yeah, I was actually pretty shocked myself. I ignored it at first, but when I paid attention to it for more than 5 minutes, I was hooked.

Two reasons, I think. One is that Hulk is going to be in the upcoming live-action Avengers movie and this show is probably meant to get the younger audience familiar with the core characters. (This is also why I think they specifically WANT Iron Man to sound like RDJ.) And the second is that this show is based largely on the early, original Avengers comic books. In either case, the team chosen for the animated film makes sense. For those curious or not watching, the first version of the team forms in the 2-part story called "Breakout." It consists of:
Iron Man
Thor
Hulk
Ant-Man/Giant-Man
Wasp
Two episodes later in "Living Legend," Captain America joins the team. We see Black Panther helping out in the background as well. He and Hawkeye will likely become official members before long. Hawkeye was featured prominently in the micro-series, but his status is currently unknown except that he was captured by SHIELD.
The thing that has impressed me the most so far is how tightly this whole show is scripted. Even though it is episodic, EVERYTHING is tied together, the story is very progressive, and the characters are being developed very nicely.
I just wish Hulk would become more useful than just throwing super-tantrums.
I do like the characterization of Hydra though, they actually seem like they could actually be a threat instead of like...Cobra from the old GI Joe cartoons.

There was once [The Pack], but no more.
