So I play a lot of merfolk in Legacy and it’s fun and competitive even though it’s tier 2. One more recent card I absolutely love is Kumena’s Speaker and I’m trying to break into a competitive deck with a playset in it.
The idea is to get him out turn 1 and then get a Lord out turn two making it a 3/3 islandwalk (someone say delver Merfolk)?
Here’s what I’ve been testing so far but am looking for a few suggestions to make this very competitive and aggressive.
-2x Chalice of the Void: 4 copies seem really unnecessary in the maindeck.
+2x Collected Company: only two because it is quite expensive with 20 lands, but the possibility to fish out two Lords at once is really game-changing.
-4x Daze you have already 4 Cursecatcher+ 4 FoW for protection and I think they are enough for game 1.
+4x Brainstorm: really helpful with your fetchlands in order to get rid of unnecessary cards you have drawn too early. It can save games alone.
Now I love brainstorm. One of the best cards in legacy by far. The reason I don’t have brainstorms is because I didn’t think 5 fetches would be enough due to me playing cavern and multavault and others?... I’ll give it a go though. See if it works out.
I like the collected company idea. I’ll try that out for sure.
A substitute for Brainstorm can be Ponder.
Although it can't help you if you have useless cards in your hand, it is not dependant from a fetch and allows you to dig more into your deck to find what you need.

4x Tropical Island
2x Island
2x Misty Rainforest
1x Polluted Delta
1x Scalding Tarn
1x Flooded Strand
3x Mutavault
2x Wasteland
And others based on meta...
Trying to make this more aggressive due to pulling Vial and putting in the 4 chalices is too good with Cavern of souls for my 1 drops.
Got any ideas, maybe a few green cards to add, or others?
