I have been playing Werewolves in standard lately and it remains pretty much intact with rotation. Starting off with a comprehensive deck while everyone else is figuring out can get you some quick wins until the meta starts to form then you can start playing with the numbers and sideboard.
I have been playing a list pretty close to this one and it is fairly strong at this point.
I run Hungry Ridgewolf to speed it up a bit as well instead of Volatile Arsonist. Also 4 full copies of Halana and Alena as they are critical for the strategy. I also moved Unnatural Moonrise to the side as well. I am running Lightning Strike in the main with 2 Cathartic Pyres in the side. I also run 2 copies of Primal Adversary as I like to run more wolves/werewolves for creature density in game one then side into other non creatures if needed.
I also don't run the tri-lands as I don't like that they come into play tapped. And I also only run 23 lands as 25 is too much for my curve. 2 Sokenzan, Crucible of Defiance for Utility as well.
Altogether it is a fun deck and relatively strong at this time.
Playing since 1994: Currently MAGS (HomeBrew),Standard & Pauper (Pioneer and Modern are degenerate trash formats)
