Go Surveil heavy if you run Doom Whisperer. The main danger to using him is that the cost in life is dangerous against burn, so you'd need to have an alternate game plan in that situation. Basically, the game ends if your life total drops below 1, so if the opponent is on phoenix and you attempt to surveil combo out, they can potentially play around your attempt to use Gnaw to the Bone and just end you right there.
Go with cards like Tasigur, the Golden Fang, Become Immense, and Gurmag Angler if you choose to do surveil. Over all, I'd envision the deck working a lot like turbo surveil in standard with some extra tricks. The big advantage you get to leverage is that the big sideboard cards most people side in will probably do next to nothing against you, since you aren't all in on graveyard antics or creature boost. The downside is that you have the jack of all trades problem, where the deck may struggle against more fine tuned lists. Plus having a creature bounced with counters on it is pretty painful.

1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...
2. (War of the Spark): Guys, I know what we need! We need a cycle of really idiotic flavor text victory cards! Jace's Triumph...
3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!
I'm running Stitch, Satyr Wayfinder, and Stinkweed. Actually the creature count is 36. Steve's in there too and G Thug(dredge), and crypt of agadeem.
Wincon has been beatdown with doom or those raiders. It's weak, but fun.
It's resembled a dredge deck thus far. Highly yard intensive so it could never be a thing. Burn is an autowin matchup. Major focus of the deck is putting creatures in the yard. Gaining 12 life on turn 3 is pretty consistent. Gaining 40 life later in the game because they don't have yard hate is just silly.
It kinda makes me want to build a mortal combat deck for the lol's
These are great cards for necrotic ooze. I love necrotic ooze and am using the ooze in every format, but honestly that's what lots of creatures in a graveyard wins off of. Also for non-combo, look at lotleth troll, and pack rat.
Has anyone tried brewing this?
Agadeem comes to mind
Dredge comes to mind
Songs of the Damned isn't modern legal
Golgari Raiders Hi There

Another way to go at it is a sidisi, brood tyrant self-mill style undergrown deck. Maybe with mausoleum secrets.
