Before this gets closed, I'd like to point out you cant avoid the "hostility" of mods if your opening posts of threads are not deliberately stand-offish or at least present some sort of constructive argument. Threads like "Clinton sucks" or "Bush is a murdering <insert noun>" do little to contribute to the debate forum.
For example, you could link to a specific instance of why you hate FoxNews as that can be debated or a more general topic on bias in the media.
Just for the hell of it, FoxNews was established for the express and admitted purpose of counterbalancing the "liberal" bias in the media. I don't think its a proganda arm at all but it shouldn't kind itself with being fair and balanced.

In all my time on this forum I don't think I've convinced anyone to change their favorite sandwich topping; that's not really the point of the forum. I certainly couldn't get anyone to abandon their religious, political, or otherwise strongly-held beliefs (and I think loathing with every cell in one's being qualifies as one of these) - change in those fields is more the product of initial indecision or great disillusionment than reasoned debate, sad to say.
This is all theoretical, of course; I have no particular affection for Fox News. All I've seen of it are clips on the Daily Show, and if I allowed that program to shape my opinions of anything, I'd be in rather sad shape. With this in mind, I must ask you if you've really given Fox News a fair shake. Watched, then decided? If you have, good for you; I'm not accusing you of anything. I'm just checking.

The Fox News Network is full of errors, deliberate mis-givings of the truth, consistent editorial content inside of factual news, distortion, and out-right lies.
The day Fox News makes an honest report of any event that can be politicized, I will eat my hat.
I'm not even going to respond to this hatefest thread, since it's obviously biased, and therefore a meaningless debate. This thread serves the same purpose as a "Bush Sucks!" or "Christianity Sucks!" thread, as it is only designed to spew hatespeak against FNN, instead of having a meaningful discussion of bias (conservative or liberal) in the media. Denver's response is a classic example of this - he rips on FNN, saying they are erroneous, full of lies, yet doesn't back it up with a shred of proof. Plus, I'm almost tempted to cite a factual story by FNN, so he can eat his hat.
EDIT: I've asked Senori to close this down (again). If you really want to discuss media bias, at least try to be objective about it? You are entitled to despise FNN, but when you create threads that say FNN sucks, you're just trolling for reaction. Clear case of spamming the boards.
Is this thread based upon you watching Outfoxed? I just saw it. It really opened my eyes to how Murdoch runs the fox 'corporation'. And some pretty funny clips of o'brien.
How about this one? In high school and college debate, we have a resolution, or statement to agree or disagree with.

I would personally lean on the negative side, since Fox News never cites anything, but hey. I believe that the unmitigated conservative interest of Murdoch and the lack of journalism (selective reporting and false "citation") harm democracy. If people truly accept Fox News as truth, democracy will go to hell in a hand basket.

So, lets just suppose for a second that Fox News is biased conservatively, which a lot of liberal minded people are quick to point out, and lets just follow that logic.
Then it must really bother those people that the viewership of Fox News continues to grow - even with a MAJOR natural disaster this year which took the attention of people, which usually means that the non-news savvy people would go with the "traditional" channels for news because its what they know (example, think of what channel you would turn to in order to find out what the weather is like - you'd most likely pick the Weather Channel despite the other options out there). In pure numbers, in many cases, Fox News is showing double the viewers of CNN. Heck, I even saw Fox News in Wal-Mart last week, the number 1 retailer in the world.
But then, those same people would be quick to attack those people who are getting the news from Fox News - probably using words like "sheep", "Neocons" and "mindless".
The point is, for those people who want to defend the other news networks for being non-biased while calling Fox News biased would have to then admit that there therefore is a slant at CNN and other news networks that those people don't like, or else they wouldn't be tuning into Fox News to be "forcefed" (another word I have seen used).
The other point that is obvious out of this is that if FoxNews does have a bias, then the conservative message is the one that people want to hear based on the ratings. And I bet that's scary to a lot of liberal minded people, that people might just want to hear the Conservative side - which means that those people who accuse FoxNews of being biased are losing. According to this "slant", that means that more people like the "Conservative" message over the "Liberal" message - a good sign for the next election for Conservatives.
Losing isn't fun, and that's why then they have to attack those people who are desiring the conservative message (again, assuming that there is a bias). Maybe the solution isn't attacking those people - you can't exactly change someone's mind after you've attacked them - maybe its just putting on a better product. But, thats capatalism - and they would only dare to promote capatalism on FoxNews, since you know, the conservatives are all about big business, and Fox News is OBVIOUSLY for big business since they are biased conservatively, right?

This is just a ridiculous thing to say. People watch Fox News more, thus they know it more - not the "traditional" channels (like...what? Local network affiliates?) You watch the Weather Channel for weather; that doesn't mean you won't watch Fox News for news - including news on Katrina.
In pure numbers, in many cases, Fox News is showing double the viewers of CNN. Heck, I even saw Fox News in Wal-Mart last week, the number 1 retailer in the world.
Wow, I'm sure you're going to shock a lot of people there. Hardly anyone knows that Wal-Mart's management is conservative!!1!

That doesn't follow from anything you've said at all
The other point that is obvious out of this is that if FoxNews does have a bias, then the conservative message is the one that people want to hear based on the ratings.
I myself would like to hear as impartial a take on the news as possible. People who want to hear "the conservative message" or "the liberal message" should what to hear what the **** is really happening!
What are you trying to say with this sentence? If liberals don't like big business, who's running CNN?
There is bias in all reporting. People should, IMO, watch both liberal- and conservative-slanted networks (or websites, etc.) and try to shake out the truth. Sadly, no one has that much time
Kashmyr both has a point and doesn't. On the one hand, in this capitalistic nation where success over competitors is the best indicator of relative popularity, Fox News would seem to be very popular. On the other hand, what has popularity to do with the issue of media impartiality? The people may well want to hear a conservative message; does that make it any more factually and ethically right?
I suggest popularity take back seat to other arguments in this (and any) debate. Argumentum ad populum and all that.

I have no problem with conservative pundits at all, there are as many smart or stupid ones as liberal pundits, it isn't about that for me, but many of the ones on Fox News seem not only manipulative at times, but also genuinely ignorant.
