Working on an expansion for Magic on my spare time. I have no experience whatsoever.
This block is inspired by River of Tears from Future Sight. The theme for the set is "land plays matter", and features a comeback of Landfall, although Landfall is more sparingly used.
So far, I've only been thinking about the first set in the block. I don't have an idea for an overarching story, but the basic gist of it is that the mana produced by the plane is unstable (as evidenced by lands like River of Tears) and that mana drawn may not be the expected colour. (I don't know MTG lore well, I hope this makes sense). I expect that this will draw Nicol Bolas to the plane, probably with Tezzeret and an agent of Jace's. Jace may make an appearance, but I believe Jace is stuck on Ravnica to a certain extent as the new Guildpact.
In the case of some of the cards or mechanics, I've tried to do some homage to earlier sets. This is because part of the story line centres around the speculation of Nicol Bolas and others that Kholon is starting to exhibit some of the properties that Dominaria used to have as the Nexus of the Universe. (This is tentative, I do not expect that Kholon will become the Nexus of the Universe.)
All criticism is appreciated.

This sounds like a good idea. I was a fan of Zendikar and the lands-matter theme, and this looks to be similar.
Couple things though:
*Isn't Landfall whenever a land enters the battlefield under your control, {effect}? Why is yours whenever you play a land? It leaves out things like Rampant Growth and Ruin Ghost tricks. Example.
*Why is the green member of the 1cmc Shaman cycle so much better than the other ones? I can understand the slightly bigger body, but his pump effect makes him much better than the rest of the cycle. He way outclasses the red one, unless I'm missing something.

Indeed, I have written landfall incorrectly. Thanks for pointing it out.
Also, you are right, the green one is much better. Oops, will fix. (I will remove pump, and keep reach).
