I've always wanted to make some kind of card game, and play it off against myself. Thing is, I'm not good with programs, and apart from Set Editor to make (non-Magic) cards, I'm not sure how to put out the rest.
It drags me down because I've always wanted to do this, but don't have the knowledge/tools to do it.
Any ideas guys?

i advise AGAINST a metronome, as this will only make you better at playing with yourself. (lol)
Actually I've worked on and scrapped countless card games and whenever I drafted them I would use MSE. The Magic frame will probably work (even if not ideal) and if not there are frames from other games you can use to test it. If it gets off the ground you can always find a way to make your own frame then.
printing the cards is usually what i do. Most of the time i prototype game cards using index cards, then maybe upgrade to printed paper cards in magic sleeves (using rules cards as backings.) If it ever gets to the point I want something more official I've used websites like The Game Crafter in the past to print custom cards.

"In the beginning, MTG Salvation switched to a new forum format.
This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move."
It was at that moment that I realized: I'm kinda just making these things up. We can just write the rules the way we want them to work. People will have fun, and people will get it.
I like headley's idea. I've used MSE before (still do), but I'm not sure if there's any good programs for playing against yourself. I've looked through but the best I could find was LackeyCCG, and I'm unsure how it works. I wouldn't want to print out cards.
Thanks guys and please help me out

Lackey ccg is hard to use but very effective. I've been able to make custom card games with it before, but it took a bit of practice.
I've got the time to learn it, but it does seem difficult and the interface is a bit complicated.
Is there an option to play against yourself? Not Solitaire mode

I think the easiest to program would probably be unity. I know Dave Sirlin's Yomi runs in browser off of Unity with a simple interface. Determining how the AI acts would probably be pretty tricky if you're not experienced with it so good luck with that endeavor.

Thanks for that; I'll need it
I'm thinking I should just download MSE and draft with myself. Trouble is I don't want to make Magic... there's other plugins, right?

I know it comes with YGO and VS if you download them, if not they can be added along with plenty of other templates. But for playtesting purposes a MtG frame should do fine if it's something you're familiar with. I usually use Future Sight frames just to get a different feel than Magic while I test but still use a familiar layout.

Best of luck, hope it works out!

I guess... you'll have to tutor me a bit on this. Basically I want to make my own game and play against a AI.
I also have no idea how to do this.
