Well here it is. Here on this day (7/8/08) my buddy and I announce the official set. Holy War, by name. Awsomeness, it's game. Here is how it's gonna work:
1. Essentially, the story is super color pie oriented: We have white and green, or Kingdom Azra vs. black and red Bassk, and I am gonna have blue go rogue on this block. The world on which we fight has a grand capitol at it's center. The planet is divided into 2 sectors, one B/R, the other W/G. The was has raged for decades and the capitol is the MOST important location. Control of this city means a grand advantage to it's controller. It needs a nifty name as well.
2. I am completely open to suggestion. If you wanna help or have a kool idea, lay it on me!
3. Nothing is final until it is officially released!
TEAM:
MeatballWarrior, The Iron Marx, Penguinwriter, . . . .
Here are THE mechanics:
1. B/R gets Martydom (yeah CoD4 i know). A creatures comes into play with X +1/+1 counters. At the beginning of your upkeep you remove a +1/+1 counter from it. When the last is removed, sac it and it deals X damage to target creature.
2. Do to artistic differences, W/G will be getting a new mechanic.
3. Blue gets flicker. You may pay a card's flicker cost to return it to your hand at the end of the turn. Obviously the creature will have an effect that goes off.
4. Everyone can get pride. Whenever a creature you control becomes the target of a spell or ability you don't control, it gets a +1/+1 counter.
Now for cards, I wanna stick with a good portion of it being mono-colored for the opening set. 250 cards total. Mostly white and black, but a good portion will have blue, then the rest.
I am using MSE2 for this so if you are gonna send cards, i would prefer it in this form. Plz and thank u!
RECENT CHANGES: Added the card spoiler. The 2 lords are up.

Black
Trozig, King of Bassk XBBB
Legendary Creature - Human Lord
When Trozig, King of Bassk comes into play you may Fateseal X.

More yet to come
Can't wait for the set to turn out. Again, any suggestions are welcome.
Toll x: you may return up to x permanents you control to their owners hand, EDIT:where x is less than or equal to ~ mana cost. If you do, play this spell without paying it's mana cost. Play this ability only when you could play a sorcery.
You could have some of them having a mechanic about how many cards have been returned to your hand this turn. Like this one
Toilsome Djinn 1U
Creature - Djinn
Flying
Toll x (x can't be 0)
Toilsome Djinn comes into play with x +1/+1 counters, where x is the number of cards that have been returned to your hand from play this turn.
0/0
I don't know whether that's good or useless or what, but this one you can return any number, but most of them would say how much you have to toll them for.
Pyroclasm isn't so white/green, is it? Maybe it could be like:
Buildup X- [Effect] (At the beginning of your upkeep put a build counter on this permanent. When there are X build counters on it, sacrifice it and [Effect]
Not really. In order to play the second djinn for free, you have to bounce 2 permanents. The third time you play it, you'd have to bounce 3. The fourth, 4, and so on (remember: x is equal to the number of permanents you've bounced so far, so if you've bounced 4 permanents, toll for the next spell is 4).
Of course, this is still an insanely powerful creature. It would have given psychatog a run for its money during the time of upheaval. It also lets you bounce a tapped land (preferably something like gemstone mine), play it as a 1/1, then replay the land, which is powerful enough.
Hmm, well seeing as I'm posting this after you wrote on my set's thread, I feel like I can't just give you endure, but here are some ideas that I have which are +1/+1 counterific.
Swell/Pride/Inflate (Whenever this becomes the target of a spell, put a +1/+1 counter on it.) OR (Whenever this becomes the target of a spell of ability you don't control, put a +1/+1 counter on it.)
I might use this in my next set, but its here:
Relinquish - Delve for +1/+1 counters.
Err... Hey everyone. I'm #2 on this project here with Meaty Balls. I guess this is going to be my intro post here, anyway.
I consider myself a rookie still, I've been playing since late Kamigawa, but I consider myself a good rookie. I'm not much for tournies, but I'm usually that "last minute guy" my local geek shop calls to get one more guy at the store for an even tournament or whatever. I do lots of other tricks, too, but I'll keep this MTG related. I've got about 11 decks, 8 of them are worth playing, I favor the color green, and I love playing Unhinged games. Eh... I bet MB could tell you more about my MTG career than I could, I'm just that pathetic.
Sorry for my lack of happiness or whatever. If you knew where I was typing this, you'd be emo too. See you dudes around.
Yeah but we are at a bit of a stand still. I am trying to do this in conjunction with my buddy, and i dont get to talk to him much. I will be creating a new G/W mechanic in at least 2 days and then the cards will start rolling i promise.
I'm just wondering am I missing something for the whitelord, he seems a bit powerful (unless graveyard recursion hate is very common in this block), I mean he can decide to just keep coming back everytime he dies.
If Kresh had more than 3 toughness, I'd say he'd see play too. But 5 mana for a 3/3 makes him so vulnerable to basic removal that its really not a great investment. I know everything dies, but not everything dies equally
We seem to be at a standstill again. When we get the chance more will come, but work and school and WoW seem to have taken over. Still willing to take ideas and such.

Draft it on Cubetutor!

Bounce COST (COST:Return ~ to your hand. You may play ~ at the end of the turn for X where X is its converted mana cost.)
Rebellious Mage 2UU
Creature - Human Wizard
When ~ is put into a graveyard from play, discard two cards.
Bounce 3UU
2/2
Not sure if the ability is to powerful, you can change it if you want to.
Thanks to spiderboy4 for the awesome sig.
For example, I have a Rebellious Mage in Play. I Bounce it. Then, I play brainstorm. At end of turn. I play Rebellious Mage.
Now, did the Rebellious Mage that I played the same Rebellious mage that I bounced? Or is it a brand new rebellious mage that I drew?
See firestorm phoenix.

If you made a set with this mechanic, there won't be enough judges to go around.

What about the white mechanic? Anyone think i should change it?

As for the G/W, I am looking for something with +1/+1 counters.

EDIT: Wouldn't the black lord be better as a 3/3 or 3/2 or something? He is even good at x=0 at the moment.
Draft it on Cubetutor!
