Looks like there's room for a wurm token, a 7/7 Eldrazi with annihilator 1 token, and a 6/12 construct with trample, but surely that would break the bank
It certainly fits, though it seems like a less than good idea.
At a CMC of 7, the original could be splashed into (the sideboards of) limited decks with any college as 7 mana isn’t insurmountable even for aggro silverquill decks.
When you reach cmc 9, though, this card would only really see play in quandrix decks (which ramp) and prismari decks (which specialize in big spells) and these colorless spells were designed to be a bit more accessible.

I agree with that, it just feels weird having only 3 of the 5 colleges represented. The Fractal could scale differently, but its also nice this way that it gets power 1/2/3/4/5 tokens. For gameplay of the set, the real version is definitely better, but my inner completionist wishes they'd used all 5 instead
