This is a month long contest with a minimum of 4 rounds. Each round, you will be given a selection of options to pick from. You must pick exactly one option, one "element", from each list in a given round. You then design your card, and submit it as you would in any other thread.
But there's a catch.
As soon as an entry is submitted, the "Elements" that player used are then off limits and will be crossed of the list. Futhermore, if all the elements are used up in the round, no more entries can be submitted.
At the end of the entry period (about 3-4 days or when all the elements are used) peer judging will be used, where you will judge 5 other participants based on order of submission. You must judge the card as submitted, without credence or care that they may have had less options then other players. Only the end result matters. You make a top 3 list, with the the winner receiving 3 points, 2nd 2, and 3rd 1. Over the month the points are tailed with the winner announced each month. You will be given 2 days. If you are delinquent in judging, you will be disqualified from the round. You may participate in as many or few rounds as you wish each month.

For future contests: There's only so many abilities a planeswalker can have. Allowing only one contestant, on one ability, to use something like "discards cards" or "deals damage" is pretty restricting.
This round was intentionally designed to be more restrictive. A big part of the challenge was to force you as players to come up with more non standard abilities then usual, hence the broad use of terms to make the round more challenging. Overall that challenge has been met by you, the players, as there are certainly TONS of abilities outside of the ones restricted. When you consider loopholes to making similar abilities, such as exiling cards from hand instead of discarding (an example that I made in the original post in the notes) there is still much to be explored.
I am always open to feedback on challenges and how this is organized. That said, don't expect all the challenges to be equally difficult or restricting, at least not as long as I'm hosting.
Any word on whether my last ability counts for the allows casting spells clause? Or does it have to state it in specific terms?
You're not casting spells, no. But you are allowing a player to put lands on the battlefield. That's what I marked off for your entry. Is that what you intended?

I think this is going to be a tough week for submissions. Would anyone be terribly upset if I extended the deadline till Friday night for post Thanksgiving posts?
NVRBLND: Interesting stuff. The +1 is nice - either offers itself limited protection, or helps ensure that blocker you have sitting in front of it will still be there when your opponent attacks. I don't think the second ability should actually be written as +X (based on Gideon, Champion of Justice), but the ability itself is fine. And the ultimate is very Kiora - screw the rules, I'm summoning all of the giant monsters and crazy enchantments and the like. The possibility of ever getting to that ultimate is entirely dependent upon keeping large creatures on the field with her, and the same is true of her other abilities, to an extent, which makes her a bit win-more, but it's still a nice card.
SelesnyaNewLife: Another 'walker that depends on having creatures in front of it, but, true to color, focuses on having a bunch of small creatures rather than one or two large ones. This Gideon is spectacular if you can keep a small army on the field with him, and terrible if you can't. Normally that would denote it as weak, but it's in the supreme color of weenie decks, so for all I know it might actually be overpowered. It's a hard card to judge without knowing the environment it's being placed into.
zeke_the_plumber: Effects feel a bit weak for the CMC and starting loyalty, but the effects themselves are fairly elegant - they'd just be better if Koth cost 1 less or started with 1 more loyalty. Not a lot to say here; the card is simple, but for the most part, it works.
Oculus: This Elspeth is just...weird. I'm honestly not entirely sure how to judge the first two effects. Apart from anything else, though, the ultimate is way overpowered for a certain deck in those colors - 3 mana to reanimate two creatures, at a better lost-creatures-to-gained-creatures ratio than Dread Return? It's a very powerful effect, which makes it fitting as a planeswalker ultimate...but not as one that can be fired off immediately from a 3-mana 'walker.
Ninja Caterpie: Again, the first ability is hard to judge, since it doesn't really do anything except fuel the ultimate (both in amount of targets hit and loyalty increase). The -4 is interesting, though it's really situational - when it works, it works really well, but when it doesn't work, it's useless. Granted, that's basically the definition of 'situational,' but it feels like there might be more situations when it's weak than situations when it's strong. And the -14, while handy for overshooting the loyalty cost requirements, really doesn't feel like a 14-loyalty ability - unless you dump something awesome from your hand or graveyard under the assumption you'll be able to tick Venser up to his ultimate, there's a good chance you don't hit much of worth with it, and it doesn't even clear the board for that stuff the way, say, Karn's ultimate does. Not many 'walkers are going to compare favorably to Karn, but the point remains that a -14 ability should probably be winning you the game if you get it off, and Venser's -14 very likely won't do that...which is especially disappointing, since his other abilities do very little besides fuel the ultimate.

greggbot - Interesting concept. The +1 is a bit too much value for that cost, and the -X doesn't seem red.
NVRBLND - The hexproof is not great, considering they can just target during your upkeep, and the +X is do-nothing. If it wasn't a one-trick pony I'd like it more.
SelesnyaNewLife - Nifty! The +2/+0 is a little odd in white, but forgiveable. The animator effect is a little redundant, as for large amounts of creatures you'd want to anthem up anyway.
zeke_the_plumber - It looks like someone took a green planeswalker and accidentally printed it in red. Not too bad though.
AliasBot: The emblem is cute, and lets the intially bad +2 become incrementally more valuable. You've done a good thing here - she just needs an ultimate that isn't completely underwhelming.
Ninja Caterpie: A +3 that gives you no advantage? I understand what you were trying to do, but even in the best case, you're durdling for four turns to get an ultimate of questionable value. The -4 is pretty awful too - it could cost -2, or only have opponents exile things.

The X ability doesn't need to be an X - it should be a 0 instead (unless you want to give 2X counters). Kind of cool, but doesn't really feel blue, and as a result Kiora. All of these could go on a new Garruk, to be honest. Power level seems ok, it's basically "build up to ultimate"

Feels kinda weird that the +2 is pretty bad for you without the 0, especially on a 6 mana walker, but I guess being able to ult immediately for 2 cards is pretty good. I like how it sorta calls back to Kamigawa Moonfolk by encouraging you to bounce your lands.
Oculus:
This is nice. Flavourful, elegant. 0 maybe shouldn't be a 0 on a 3-mana walker (although I guess early on it's not gonna draw much). I don't like being able to ultimate immediately after casting, because she can potentially become really good in a low-power reanimator deck.

SNL: I'm assuming the first ability is for a single creature, otherwise it is probably too strong. The second ability is ok but significantly weaker then other versions because it requires so much set up. The last ability feels more Green then White and doesn't seem to have much relation to Gideon's flavor or any other abilities.
Zeke: The first ability seems like a color shifted Liliana, I can't think of red getting something like this before but I could be wrong. The second seems extremely weak and situational, 4 mana for a temporary color fix is weak compared to a Prismatic Omen for example, and the fact that it doesn't add any loyalty doesn't help. The last ability is good and feels very Koth like.
Aliasbot: I think given her cost the first ability should be any permanent, not just one you own. Paying 6 to bounce something to your hand isn't very strong. The second ability is a cool, in flavor ability for a Moonfolk walker. The ultimate is a nice, flexible Sphinx's Rev that would almost ensure this sees some play. If the firs ability was any permanent I would love this, as is it is good but not great.
Oculus: I love the flavor of this, it will be interesting to see what becomes of Elspeth. The first ability is great, it has her protector feel while also feeling very WB. The second ability isn't great but is good enough, it could probably be +1. The third ability seems really pushed, especially since it can be activated right away for only 3 mana. I think it returning 1 creature would be fine or it would have to require more loyalty counters. Overall I think this is a little strong as is but the ideas, design and flavor are all good.
Ninja Caterpie: This is a very interesting card that is hard to judge its power. It seems like a good combo engine however it also seems kind of weak as it drains your resources quickly and if you don't hit its ultimate you probably just lose. The first ability would be hard to make worth it, sure it will win you the game in a couple turns with the ult but does nothing but hurt you until that point. The second ability is very good however as it gives you some defense while also adding to the ultimate's power. The ultimate is a nice game winner. I would tweak the first ability to be more flexible somehow but I'm not sure what would be the best way.

Aliasbot: I think given her cost the first ability should be any permanent, not just one you own. Paying 6 to bounce something to your hand isn't very strong. The second ability is a cool, in flavor ability for a Moonfolk walker. The ultimate is a nice, flexible Sphinx's Rev that would almost ensure this sees some play. If the firs ability was any permanent I would love this, as is it is good but not great.
Oculus: I love the flavor of this, it will be interesting to see what becomes of Elspeth. The first ability is great, it has her protector feel while also feeling very WB. The second ability isn't great but is good enough, it could probably be +1. The third ability seems really pushed, especially since it can be activated right away for only 3 mana. I think it returning 1 creature would be fine or it would have to require more loyalty counters. Overall I think this is a little strong as is but the ideas, design and flavor are all good.
Ninja Caterpie: This is a very interesting card that is hard to judge its power. It seems like a good combo engine however it also seems kind of weak as it drains your resources quickly and if you don't hit its ultimate you probably just lose. The first ability would be hard to make worth it, sure it will win you the game in a couple turns with the ult but does nothing but hurt you until that point. The second ability is very good however as it gives you some defense while also adding to the ultimate's power. The ultimate is a nice game winner. I would tweak the first ability to be more flexible somehow but I'm not sure what would be the best way.
