A card or small set of cards that could theoretically be a part of a cycle but wasn't is posted, then the next few posters create cards aligned with that cycle. Bear in mind that a card doesn't have to perfectly mirror another in its cycle, i.e. Jedit Ojanen of Efrava and Mirri the Cursed, but still make it as close as possible. Once a cycle is completed, the most recent poster posts a new card or set of cards to work with. Ready?
About any "subpar" mechanics or cards: Context is king.

The franchise MtG most resembles is Battlestar Galactica. Why? Its players exist in, at most, a dozen different models at any given point in time, with perhaps up to 3% variation, 5% if you're lucky.
