Hello, and welcome back to You Make The Card! We learned Last month about top-down design, and came up with a pretty cool card. This month we're making a card to fit an imaginary design skeleton. (If what I just said sounded like gibberish, I encourage you to read this Nuts and Bolts article by Mark Rosewater.)
We're on the home stretch now! We recently decided on an excellent name for our card: Disciple of Solitude. All that's left is to pick out creature stats and a cost for it. There are several options to consider above, and we had a very productive conversation about our choices in the previous thread. Please feel free to continue the discussion here. Its been a fun journey, and we've produced another solid card. Much thanks to the community! Please cast your votes as usual, and join us April 1, when we'll be designing Planeswalker Sorceries!
A recent new rule for YMTC: No votes from accounts with 0 posts will be counted. That means that if you're new to the Salvation forums but you want to voice your opinion in the polls, you should introduce yourself or make a few comments in a thread anywhere on the forum. I encourage you to make a post in this thread explaining your vote. There's no need to worry, we don't bite!
This thread will be open until March 31th at 11:59pm GMT
Next month's YMTC will open April 1st by 11:59pm GMT
Our general plan for this month: (Rarity will change if need be, but its good to have something to shoot for.)
It was at that moment that I realized: I'm kinda just making these things up. We can just write the rules the way we want them to work. People will have fun, and people will get it.
I really don't like the idea of this as a 1/x, unless x is also 1. Making her a turtle kind of defeats the tension of the card; if you have only one guy out of course you want it to be a 1/4, and then you trade off your 2/x dorks and get to draw extra cards. Yaaaaaaaaawn. I like 1/1 for :2mana::symu: or 2/1 for :1mana::symu::symu: best, but 2/2 for :2mana::symu::symu: is interesting too.
Dear mods - Is there a way to remove my vote from [0/3 for 1UU], which I did not intend to vote for?
Thanks.
(To make things perfectly clear - my only vote should go to [1/4 for 2UU])

I only care about more toughness than power for this one so I vote for those options

As far as I know, there is no way to remove it from the poll count. But when the poll closes we'll take a look and remove the unintended vote when we interpret the results. Thanks for asking! Now others know as well.
Hi Solesticio, thanks for your question.
As you may notice in the previous thread, having this ability active during your third upkeep breaks from previous card draw engines. From the history of YMTC, it is very likely that 1U would win, because it has the highest power level. That power level isn't something we want for our card, especially as an uncommon from a hypothetical set (As a rare, the argument for a converted mana cost of 2 is much more valid because it impacts limited formats much less). Also, a cost of 1U would require it to be a 0/1, and no one suggested that combination in the suggestion/discussion thread.
I hope that provides some insight into your concern.

Fair enough. Being uncommon I understand that.
