So I've decided to make two card contest threads, whatever, go shoot me or something. :slant:
I didn't come up with this general contest idea, it's been recycled many times on 'News, but I didn't see it here...So, let's go!
Rules:
1) I'll accept entries for a week from when the theme/specification/whatever is posted....starting...now! *takes out stopwatch*
2) Submissions: Anyone can play, edit, submit, as long as it's before the deadline and one submission per player.
3) Once the contest has ended, I'll post a poll thread and have it open for a week...
4) There is no limit to the number of contestants each week.
5.) Follow the guideline, don't be obscene, try not to make mistakes, etc., you've heard it before :winky:
6.) We're talking about non-Magic here, to make this interesting. Don't make like ninety incarnations of Chainer. :slant:
Week 1 Legendary Places
This week we're doing legendary places/lands, anything real/fictional/mythological/etc. No locations already found in Magic. Some Examples: Area 51, Tokyo-3 (Evangelion rocks! :D), some random LotR thing, I don't know, etc.
Also, please tell me what you're taking this place from, I mean, if you do Mount Everest, that'll be obvious, but if it's some legendary land derived from some obscure T.V. series or something, make sure you tell me.

Legendary Land
At the beginning of your upkeep, pay GGG or remove ~ from the game.
If you would cast a black spell, remove ~ from the game.
Creatures you control cannot be the target of your opponent's spells and/or abilities. Paradise for the faithful and obedient.
The Shrike Palace
Legendary Land
Fading 6
:symtap:: Add to your mana pool. This mana can only be used to pay for artifact spells and abilities.
:symtap:: ~ deals 1 damage to target creature or player and 2 damage to you.
When ~ leaves play, you may put a 7/7 Shrike Legend token into play with doublstrike, haste, and trample. "That thing's a f***ing killer. A sheetmetal Grendel forged in Hell. But he's my muse."
-The Poet Martin Silenius, Hyperion
FYI: This place is taken from the book series Hyperion, The Fall of Hyperion, Endymion, and The Rise of Endymion. It is one of the 5 Time Tombs, sent falling backward through time from the future. At present they are empty, but will open when they reach a specific time in the past. The legendary Shrike guards this area, an organic machine entity that can move through time and space seemingly at will, created by an Ultimate Machine Intelligence in the far, far future to hunt and destroy humanity.

The Seven Natural Wonders of the World, at least in my opinion.
Northern Lights - The proof of poles and magnetic fields
Grand Canyon - May not be the biggest or deepest, but holds the beauty.
Great Barrier Reef - Largest reef in the world, greatest habitat for marine.
Amazon Rainforest - Largest rainforest in the world, great habitat with a major weakness.
Victoria Falls - Largest waterfall in the world, feeds into the longest river in the world, known to be one of the most trecherous rivers in the world.
Parisutin Volcano - Only volcano to consistenly regress itself into intial stages of a volcano after eruptions; kinda like a phoenix volcano if you will.
Mount Everest - Tallest mountain and point on Earth.
Geez, Istanbul, our lands are very similar, and they're based on the same thing - Rush songs. Since I think I can do better than my other land, here goes.
Rivendell
Legendary Land
:symtap:: Add to your mana pool.
As long as Rivendell is enchanted, it has ":symtap:: Creatures gain protection from black until end of turn." To where the misty mountains rise and friendly fires burn
A place you can escape the world
Where the dark lord cannot go
Peace of mind and sanctuary by loud water's flow
- "Rivendell", by Rush
Mount Everest - Tallest mountain and point on Earth.
Worth pointing out that while it is the tallest point on Earth, it is not the tallest Mountain. That would be K-2, but it starts lower than Everest does, so while it is a taller mountain Everest goes higher.

Ack, how true. Guess I mistakened it. Although in the actual terms of a mountain, from base to peak, Hawaii's Mauna Kea's the tallest, though about 60% of it is underwater. Yeah, this is why I never majored in the sciences or at least geology.
Well, good job guys, mostly, a few problems though...
Make sure to post what you're referencing the card from, unless it's a real place. Most of you did a good job, but a few forgot, so I decided to leave out that part as a whole in the polls for Week 1.
Also, two other things, if you're going to post a billion cards, make sure to specify which one you want to enter, and instead of mana tags, try to just type out, R, G, U, etc. :slant:
Week Two- Legendary Equipment
This week, we're doing Legendary Equipment, weapons, uh...armor...I can't think of much else, shoes, clothes, etc., anything that would fit under Legendary Equipment.
Try your best, the entry period closes in about a week.
