I wonder if the green cavalier might backdoor into playable status the way that threats/answers have developed over the past couple years. The more cards that abuse the graveyard like flashback, delve, escape, the better this card gets.
It blocks, it ramps , it fills the GY, if you play a lands package it can help fix for the premium lands.
My red section has a lot of dragons that gets around green's defense so a big reach creature performs well in my environment. I also try and support a fair bit of GY value (unburial rites, from the catacombs, lots of delve spells, sevinne's reclamation)
Just putting this card out there if anyone with a medium sized+ is unhappy with their green 5's and looking for a sleeper that might perform solidly.

Squirrel Hermits + Thragtusk still a winning formula for me. Cards that fuel the graveyard / dig for lands are much better in the early game. Cavalier of Thorns doesn't appeal to me at all considering the competition it has.
I'll be brutally honest how I feel about this card's power level:
Suppose it was double green and not triple green, I likely wouldn't even play it as a 5-drop in dominaria draft.
