This card was in the recent MTGO Vintage Cube. I didn't give it much thought during the draft portion, but I just played against it, and it did good work. The interaction with Stonecoil Serpent, Walking Ballista and Hangarback Walker is really nice, and just being able to turn a Signet into a reasonably sized body proved to be pretty strong against what I was playing.
Never got to draft the Blackstaff artifact deck while the cube was up, but I played against it once more. First deck I was playing was Bant Superfriends, and it was very good against me. Played against it once more while I was on White Aggro, and it was not very good in that match-up. Maybe that means it's too narrow, but it did seem to break open grindy match-ups where both players were trying to out value each other.
Neat card but seems to narrow for me. For a 1UU investment I can get a Vendilion Clique.
Blue is really tough to crack slots.
I don't know, this is pretty close to Koth of the Hammer; 4/4 with haste that is hard to remove. One mana cheaper to start, too, and it could even come down on turn one to play mana efficiency.

If it allows tokens then it would be better, and would be the best Ensoul Artifact Variant, given its reusability.
