I've been working on this for a while and just finished the list. This is my first crack at making a cube so I have a few concerns:
- In your opinion, are any colours/archetypes overpowered?
- I put in a lot of creatures because I like aggressive gameplay. However, do you think my curve is too low?
Any and all feedback would be great. I've drafted a GR aggro and a UW control deck so far.
Oh wow, I got you confused with another guy who just put up his list in the peasant cube forum. Let me look.
The first thing that stuck out to me is that blue has very few creatures in it. I suppose if you wanted to strictly enforce people who are playing blue to be playing controlling builds, that would be more acceptable, but you are running a couple of random aggro guys like the one drops and ninja of the deep hours.
Your curve is not too low. I would say that, aside from blue, your curve seems about where it should be while being lower than average. You are running a few too many poor 1 drops though (Greenseeker, Skitter of lizards) but given the nature of your cube some of the less powerful 2 drops may have a place in your environment (rip-clan crasher, tithe drinker, etc). II actually really like your cube on the whole, and I don't often say that.
There are of course cards that you don't have enough experience yet to know that they'll be bad (Sigil of sleep, disrupt, divebomber griffin, burnished hart, etc) and a couple of outright mistakes (trepanation blade, ardent plea), and you have too many combat tricks (protip: these actually get worse the more you have in the cube, since they do have a very low saturation point where you just don't want more in your deck), but the overall make-up is solid.
You've also managed to avoid the biggest mistake people make when making their cubes, and that is overloading on removal.
The thing that always kills me is when people put kird ape in as a red card (and other things like this). It's not a red card, it's a gruul card. By putting it in red you are overhelping gruul at the expense of other red decks.
