This can be worse in the early game for a reanimator deck that's trying to set up a turn 3 Griselbrand, but it's an overall improvement to a card I'm already playing, so I'll take it. I think this is also a very nasty blue tempo creature.
Seems great. Not sure how to make space for it because I think I want two Looters like that so definitely not a swap for il kor.
The fact that you can flip it so easily in a tempo deck that want to leave mana up is quite nice. Back side is a pretty must answer threat. Pretty sweet for 2 mana.
Yeah, this is essentially a strictly better looter-il-kor (minus the aforementioned and very narrow scenario where you're a reanimator deck and this is the only discard outlet you have, and your opponent is willing to take their turn 2 or 3 off to make this flip). Easy swap. What a great card.
As an aside, this is precisely what werewolves need to be playable. No matter how good the back side of a werewolf is, unless the front is a card you would play all by itself, they are never good enough for cube because taking a turn off is too punishing in way too many decks and your opponents can flip them back too easily. Although forcing it to be the same player that casts two spells, and allowing you to flip by passing even if they have an instant, will certainly help a ton, I'm still not interested in any card that I'm not happy playing even if it stays on day side the whole time.
This is absolutely brilliant. I don't know if I'll cut Looter il-Kor - I'm sure there's a better cut elsewhere. Both of these will make it in a lot of decks.
Looter Il kor was a card I always loved but felt it was a casualty of power creep and the format speeding up over the past 5 years.
Certainly a fine card, but i cut it a while ago and haven’t missed it.
This is enough of a power boost that I’m happy to test it out again.
The flip side is as must kill as you can get for a 2 mana creature.

Exactly how I feel. This is different enough that I think it might make the leap. Can't wait to try it.
Cutting looter for this. I wanted to avoid the day and night gimmick in my cube if possible but between this and the new green grave titan they are just too good not to run.
After some time, do people running this think it is worth it to introduce Daybound just for this card?
I would run it for the powerlevel, but I'm hesitating to introduce the day/night stuff for only one card.

Yes, I don't think introducing day / night stuff for one card is going to ruin somebody's draft experience.
I have zero problem with strange one-off mechanics in cube so long as all the reminder text is on the card. I will avoid special printings of cards that exclude it (e.g. the alt art )
A better Looter il Kor was certainly not something I was expecting from this set, but I'll definitely take it.

The alt frame art is really good too.

On spoiled card wishlisting and 'should-have-had'-isms:
