When ~ enters the battlefield, each player sacrifices a creature or planeswalker. Each player who can’t discards a card.

New Fleshbag Marauder variant that can hit planeswalkers and has random upside of Funeral Charm if nobody has any hits. This is pretty cheap / versatile for what it does, especially since it's the cheapest planeswalker removal spell that you can recur. Seems at least test worthy to me. Thoughts?
Maybe if you are running human or aristocrat support. Otherwise I like it much better in Commander and other multiplayer formats.
Your opponent will never sac their Planeswalker unless their board is bare, and I don’t think it benefits you to cast her unless you are ahead on board.
Furthermore she is a dead draw latter in the game if you have no creatures, as she will eat herself.
I think this is the best form of the Fleshbag Marauder and Merciless Executioner. It is not dead against planeswalkers, works well against those super durdle control decks that use planeswalkers are their main form of victory. In a way this card is never really 'dead', well unless they have no creatures, planeswalkers, or cards in hand. In that case I'm sure you are already winning.
I've been loving plaguecrafter.. at least in my cube (where sacrifice fodder is a plenty in black).
It's power level isn't very high, but it's a great utility option for both black agro and reanimator tool box decks that answers both tough to kill creatures like True-name nemesis, as well as powerful planeswalkers like Chandra, Ugin and Karn. The problem with fleshbag marauder is it's a dead card against planeswalker decks, whereas this is one of your best answers in that matchup. Plaguecrafter is a much better card. While a lot of good planeswalkers create tokens, a lot of them don't.. And you may have dead removal in those matchups anyway, so sequencing Kill token -> Edict planeswalker is a very real line.
It's easy to underestimate the power of an effect like this on a body instead of a spell... Clones, reanimate, Recruiter of the guard, collected company etc all add considerable additional value over a 2B spell that reads "target player sacrifices a creature or planeswalker".
I don't see me cutting it for a long time.. but it's not a "must include".
This guy has been growing on me, I have cut back on edicts and Fleshbag Marauder was starting to show its age so I will probably give this guy a shot. I like that it is never completely dead, at worst it is a discard effect.
Planeswalker Edict is a novel effect for my cube as well, and an especially welcome one since I am not running any of the black removal that hits them.
I expect this guy to perform better than it looks, just like Fleshbag Marauder usually did.
I really feel in love with this card after seeing Fleshbag Marauder in Black-Green Aristocrats deck during standard use it to great effect against the Esper Dragons deck where it was incredibly strong vs Kalitas, Jace, Ojutai etc.
The problem I found was the number of tokens is really mitigating this card and Grist has proven to be a much better version of this type of effect. This isn't a bad card, but 3 CMC edict makes it pretty much an aristocrats card that ends up occasionally strong.
I really like the design of this card and it was really fun to play with but the number of times it got blanked by tokens was a bit too many.
