Do people normally not run these cards because they are not good/consistent enough or because they are too hosing against aggro? I am considering adding these to help control decks in my 720 Cube.
I for one, don't run them anymore because they slow down gameplay so much. Cube rounds shouldn't last five hours, I'd rather give control decks quicker answers.
I don't think they're good enough. They're really only good in control/prison as a tool against aggro, and even there creatures have gotten so efficient that it's not an unbeatable deterrent much of the time. It doesn't even really work against the cards it seems like it should be good against, like Goblin Rabblemaster or Hero of Bladehold. Don't get me wrong, they will sometimes save you when absolutely nothing else would, but there are so many situations where it's just a waste of a card.
This is an effect that I don't want to support at all in cube, they just drag out the game and promotes doing nothing. Also, I want to support aggro more, not hamper it.
Agreed with wtwlf for these cards in traditional powered/unpowered cubes. I found them to be quite oppressive in Peasant, however. I think there the matches tend to be more durdley and combat driven, so cards like these just give the control player so much time to set up and take over. I still run Ghostly Prison in my peasant list, but I cut Propaganda. Having both of them available was just too much.
Lack of universal applications. They're only good in control (which doesn't particularly need the help right now) and can't serve as emergency removal like true Wraths. I think they might be acceptable at higher size but even then, I'd rather just play more Wraths
