The past month this has seriously come up almost every day while playing League of Legends. The community sucks and is extremely abusive. If you fail and are the weakest person on the team, you are furiously abused to the point you want to throw your computer at the ground. And it's not like League of Legends allows you to ignore everyone each game, you have to manually do it, so that one time you forget and you thoroughly suck balls, you feel like total crap. Now don't get me wrong, I like the game, but everyone is taking it way to seriously as it is only just "a game", especially in Normals (where I always play). Out of 50 matches, I might get one where everyone is saints. It's gotten to the point where the next game I play I am really going to assist the enemy team.
It's not like I can go to another game. Nothing else I want to play. The game I prefer to play is Magic the Gathering and I only like it in real life, to much money and horrid programming to play it online.
TLDR; Want to quit League of Legends for community. Want to stay for game. Wanting to ruin it for the ********s by trolling my next game.

So you've tried every other game out there?
Seriously though, just uninstall the game. You'll feel a lot better after. If the community is so abusive that it's ruining the experience for you, it's not worth playing. I've had to drop games like that in the past because of it. Plus, aren't there two alternatives to it right now?
I quit the game for similar reasons two years ago, haven't looked back at it since.
The game has a learning curve, which would be fine if the community allowed players to adapt to the game, which they absolutely do not. Have one bad game and their telling you to uninstall the game. One game it just reached a point where I said "I'm done."
As I said, I haven't played the game since, and I have no real desire to ever get back in to it.
switch to playing all ARAM. The community is less toxic and you end up playing a lot of different styles you normally wouldn't. key point there is less toxic. They still have their smaller share of jerks.
If it wasn't for ARAM I'd have probably quit a while ago myself.

I have on and off played League for something like 4 years or so. In that time I have only played perhaps 10 non bot games. Its sort of boring though because the bots are soooooooooooo bad. On the flip side, I cant tell you anything that infuriates me more than playing normals because the game is such that everyone plays the damn thing in excess or not at all.
That said, last time I played league was about a month ago. I might still play now and then but its just a random bot game. I wish the bots were better but at the same time I dont like how the game is so focused on team play which means that if you want a good experience you find 4 other people to play with at like literally all times. Its discouraging enough that I refuse to try to get better or play it more competatively because its got a really bad MMO top end sort of feel where it wants you to like literally live in the game to be good enough to play it.
TLDR: its a game for kids in school who have no money. I don't plan to really play it much because its setup is to prey on those who can play it 40+ hours a week. I have 2 roomates who do exactly this and that looks extremely unappealing to me.

I have officially moved to MTGNexus. I just wanted to let people know as my response time to salvation decks being bumped is very hit or miss.
When people call you ***** keep in mind that most people who play the game have a terrible understanding of it and there's a pretty high chance they're wrong. Even the best players (as in up to and including the top-tier pro players) have knowledge gaps and playstyle biases. If you judge that they are right, that means you've been reminded of something to improve, and if you don't judge that they're right, well they might be wrong and even if they are right, they surely did a lot of ***** wrong too so who cares.
From there focus on improving yourself. But if you aren't someone (like me) with an unfortunate love of competitive team games that have a lot to master then you'll probably end up quitting LoL sooner or later.
If the community is so abusive that it's ruining the experience for you, it's not worth playing. I've had to drop games like that in the past because of it. Plus, aren't there two alternatives to it right now?
There are more than that, but they pretty much all have these community issues because of the nature of the genre. In my (fairly limited) experience the dota 2 playerbase is worse, in ways.
Haven't played LoL for around a year. Not missing the toxicity, only missing destroying stuff with a Tank/Damager Vi (how else would you play her?). Best advice I have on league is abuse the reports for legit reasons. Someone told you to kill yourself? Report. Someone was toxic towards you? Report. Best thing you can do? Make a LoL group where ev eryone is trustworthy and that you know. Fact is, if they are toxic and decide to tell you to kill yourself, you can actually report them to the police for intimidation. And there's also some teams that just plainly ignore chat and fully go on Teamspeak to discuss between them. That shaves off most of the toxicity of LoL. At least, it's not CoD level yet.

Casual crazy magic player, otaku maniac, unrully cosplayer, what did you expect me to be?
I'd go into a different league, or else just play bots. I play so casually I gave it up a bit. Whenever I told I suck, in any game, I just explain that I have no soul. I feast upon their trollness. It's like whenever I get a telemarketer, I start reading Book of Revelation.

Life is a beautiful engineer, yet a brutal scientist.
If you're older than 21, I recommend you stop playing video games and instead develop a marketable skill and whatnot.
I gave up LoL for the same reasons and instead learned electrical circuits from scratch.
Have you tried playing another ASSFA-, ehm, ARTS, or tried playing with a group of friends? Also, pot, meet kettle, but: stop letting random ********s get to you like that.

What's your point? I play Magic once a week or so; not behind a screen but with real people I know IRL. I treat it as it is: a vice.
It's good to have a vice from time to time like video games and such but it shouldn't occupy the majority of your time.
Hello I play LoL and other video, card and board games. And read fiction and do other nonproductive things that definitely occupy the majority of my free time. And yet also have a full time job and plan to go for a PhD as well.
Don't see the issue behind a hobby being done behind a screen or with strangers - not to mention that it can be played with friends in much the same way as Magic.

Good for you, I am sure you have a fulfilling life with your wife and kids trying to pay off your mortgage.
Yeah, your problem was playing League of Legends. That game's community sucks. Though I hear ARAM mode is less....terrible. I don't think it's ranked, so people don't care as much.

You seem to be ignorant of the fact that someone with even the *****tiest of STEM degrees and good enough college-period credentials to even consider a PhD program can start, let alone progress beyond, many times minimum wage. And I'd be quite willing to guess that a disproportionate amount of people in a similar situation heavily play video games.
I guess I should probably stop though, since it's not that relevant to the thread.
