so I literally got a call a few minutes ago from a guy that I don't know if its too good to be true or not.
so basically, a guy named Rob called me saying he was calling down a list looking for people to fill security jobs for 40 hours a week, $1500 a week, start as soon as possible with no interview.
He asked me if I could start ASAP, with no questions asked.
I just wanted to get opinions because I found it too good to be true
here's what leads me to believe it:
1-he was just calling down a list, asking people to start right away with no interview
2- he didn't even want to meet the people he was calling first
3-he didn't tell me who he was with
am I right in thinking this or should I have taken it?
I would have called the police.
1 - As a general rule, when you are being solicited it's the other person who wants to make money.
2 - Sunday AM cold call? No way.
3 - When you invest $1500 a week (probably close to double that for the employer) into an employee you make sure that investment warrants the cost.
4 - He didn't tell you who he was? That's where this ends... 0 chance this is real and if it is real you just got propositioned by something illegal and will be guarding heroin shipments or something.

thanks, glad I didn't take it now.
What really blew it for me was he was just calling down a list of people and hiring on the spot and just told me his name and not his company. Especially on a Sunday.
Now that you put it that way, I'm glad I ignored it
You did the right thing. This guy is probably collecting some information from you, whether it just be your mailing address, etc,...to some truly sensitive information. He'd get it all when you fill out the required forms when you get hired. Or like Gal said, guarding heroin or something.
Unless you are expecting all call for a job, it's too good to be true. And by expecting I mean, you filled out an application, or had someone personally say they are getting in contact with you.

guess I should have put this in but I did apply for a job that did give 40 hours a week 2 or 3 weeks ago but I doubt a legitimate security job would call on a Sunday and just go down a list looking for anyone to start without any possible screening, interview or background check
That's a pretty obvious scam. How did he get your name for the list?
It sounds like one of several possible scams:
1) They wanted to lure you someplace where they could rob you
2) They wanted to hook you in and get some of your personal information to steal your identity
3) They were trying to get people to come to some other 'thing' where they would make money or attempt to group sell something to you
I would recommend going to a website like Pipl.com and looking up your name and starting to scrub as much of yourself from the internet as you can.

searched myself on pipl, is there anyway to get my old accounts out of their servers by chance?
You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.

You'd have to get into your old accounts and scrub them manually. Those search sites don't store that information, they search for it like google.

I've deleted a few old accounts but they still appear but they're pretty much clean and not much from them shows up from what I found
I saw an ad on CL in El Paso/Ciudad Juarez that said in Spanish "Help wanted for sicariis (hitmen)."
Why would they entrust a total stranger with a SECURITY position?
This has shifty written all over it.
