Netflix is a great thing. Decided to re-watch the DS9 series I had watched in the 90’s again. Enjoy the characters greatly, especially Benjamin Sisko, Miles O’Brien, and Quark, totally despise the saturation of time travel/alternate universe trips. Jeez, somebody should really fix those nutrino-whatsoevers-thingamajiggies. Holosuite/deck stories are usually lousy, too.
That said, I love the grittier tone of the series that shows the less-sterling side of Starfleet and the Federation. Roddenberry’s vision notwithstanding, I appreciate the dose of reslity. Not very realistic in terms of forgiving major breaches of military orders that run rampant in the stories, the writers obviously never learned about the UCMJ as a source for military discipline. Oh well.
Any other fans out there? What do you like/not like?
