The anticipation of something like this is essentially the only reason I started watching Supergirl. Supergirl started off pretty bad, but it's gotten significantly better.
What's nice is it now makes five TV Series in DC's TV Multiverse, with Arrow and Constantine on Earth One, Flash and Legends moving around Earth One's timeline, and Flash crossing into Earth Two and now what I'll call Earth Three (Supergirl), and Supergirl taking place in Earth Three.
Presumably, this means that the new movie universe is another in the current multiverse.
I have been pleasantly surprised by Supergirl. Been a Superman/girl fan since I was a kid and I honestly expected this show to be horrendous from the pre-release trailers but it really was a lot better than what they showed. It isn't great by any means, but better than expected and certainly better than nothing for a Superman fan.

Supergirl's hella corny, but upbeat and fun. I grew up on Lois & Clark, and tonally you can almost imagine this show as a spin-off -- although this "James Olson" is a terrible impostor. The MVP is Calista Flockhart's Cat Grant, of all people.
And I'm sooo glad "Hank Henshaw" turned out to be somebody awesome instead of Hank Henshaw.
Do we know for sure the Flash is going to be jumping universes to get to Supergirl's show? It's certainly plausible given the current story arc, and one would think if the Kryptonians were flying around the Flarrowverse somebody would have mentioned it by now. I wouldn't bet against it. But characters have just shown up for no reason in the wrong show before. This Halloween had a freaking Bones/Sleepy Hollow crossover.

They'd have to. Superman is well known in Supergirl's Universe and completely unknown in the Arrowverse.
Although Batman exists - by proxy - in the Arrow Universe.
This Halloween had a freaking Bones/Sleepy Hollow crossover.
What I'm saying is they wouldn't have to. TV writers are more than capable of going, "Hi, Supergirl, I'm the Flash. My friends and I have never talked about you or your cousin before, and we've strongly implied that I'm the first person to openly display superhuman abilities, but actually we're just a couple states over* and you're in the news all the time." They've done far, far worse.
*Okay, Star City is in northern California, Central City is in Missouri, Metropolis is in Delaware, and I have no idea where National City is.

I don't think the existence of Harley Quinn definitively implies the existence of Batman. Although in one of the trailers for Legends of Tomorrow Vandal Savage has a throwaway line alluding to both Bats and Supes.
This Halloween had a freaking Bones/Sleepy Hollow crossover.
That was an atrocity.
Actually, since my perennial complaint about Sleepy Hollow is that I'd much rather see Ichabod Crane playing off the modern world without any of this supernatural crap as a distraction, I thought the first part was pretty fun.
Never knew about that particular crossover but I agree with you, love time travel stories. Metropolis is in Delaware? I thought it was up the road from Smallville in Kansas?

Well, they've made a number of references that indicate the bat family exists in the Arrowverse. Felicity is Overwatch because Oracle was taken. Harley Quinn was the obvious one. They've mentioned Bludhaven.
Of course, they've also mentioned Ferris Air, but they've alluded to Batman a heck of a lot. I don't think we should take them as any more than teases, though.

[/quote]Ichabod in Bones was fun. But I don't like Bones as a character, and she was weird in the Sleepy Hollow episode.
This week's Supergirl seemed to suddenly be very interested in world-building, from a rather clumsy reference to Gotham City to a brief conversation that unless I'm mistaken was about Lobo.

I watched the first episode of Supergirl and I was so put off that I have only gone back to it once. I watched part of an episode where Supergirl got caught in quicksand and subsequently I am even more put off. I understand when Flash can't overcome a barrier because the plot demands it, but I've never seen anything so corny as her actually getting caught in quicksand. FFS. Should I really give it another try? I'm a big Flash fan so I wouldn't want to miss out on any content, but despite watching both Arrow and Flash I don't feel like the crossover episodes contributed much to either one's story that I would miss out by not actually watching Supergirl.
Also, since it hasn't been mentioned, when Barry first travels to Earth-2 and they're showing all the other worlds rush by, you can catch a glimpse of Supergirl.

I just watched episode six, and I'm more and more annoyed by how much of a ******* doormat Supergirl is. ******* hell, the road rage guy punched the equivalent of a brick wall and it's somehow her fault that he gets hurt? And the Crimson Tornado incident was nowhere near her fault, much less being caused by her anger; it tried to attack her after the order to stand down.
The only character I actually like on the show so far it Cat. SuperDoormat with her permanent sadface just makes me angry, Winn is so far in the friendzone that even light cannot escape it and Jimmy seems to have resigned with the fact that he's supporting cast and seems to have stopped actually trying.
(Also, Barry's messing with the timeline again on The Flash, so I expect to see that as a way to integrate the two universes.)
What's funny is that Barry's super massive **** up of the timeline offers a convenient way out for the Arrow writers to hit the restart button but they opt not to.

I don't think they really want to do a "You have to watch the other show to understand what just happened in this show". Imagine you follow Arrow but not The Flash. You'd be like, "WTF just happened?"

You can't deny that the CW is trying to do their own MCU. Those annual team ups keep getting deeper and more complex and apparently from what i've read, the next team up is going to feature all 4 shows (Legends, Arrow, Flash, Supergirl) spanning the whole week. There is definitely going to be WTF moments for those who watch one but not the other and I think the CW is okay with it.
So, news yesterday that The Flash will be appearing on CBS's Supergirl for a crossover episode on March 28th.
