The creator and director of the shows did a very awesome job of making the siutations feel like a real life adventure. I couldn't begin to tell you how many times I have jumped from something that caught me off guard.

I think what I enjoy the most is that when you sit and think about it, it really isnt a zombie show at all. I mean, there is clearly a zombie apocalypse going on, but the show is more about the human dynamic and its reaction to a never ending fight or flight situation. They've done a masterful job making it believable.

I completely agree with you.
The show, in a sense, reminds me of the book Zombie Survival Guide as it relates to how you need to survive and how to function in a soceity that has collapsed.
I'm very much looking forward to seeing Andrea at the start of Season 3. The way Season 2 ended had me thinking all sorts of scenarios.

That was always the comic creator's intention, and it's nice to see it translated to the screen so well.
Just over a week away from the Season 3 premier. I agree that Rick being in charge is going to fun. I can see the fireworks between him and Hershel already.
Something my wife and I are doing is watching all of Season 2 again prior to Season 3 beginning. We have but 3 episodes left in Season 2.
It's only about 24 Episodes (being an AMC Show with 12 episode seasons), so you should be able to catch up fast. I believe they are all up on Netflix.
It's a total of 19 episodes actually. Six for season one and 13 for season two.
I read a big article about the show and it said the the first episode of season three will have more killing that all the previous 19 episodes combined. I'm looking forward to a nice big blood bath! There was also a lot mentioned about season three and it sounds like it's going to be really good and should do a good job of making up for the incredibly slow pace of the the first half of season two.
I'm wondering how much of the prison/the Governor storyline they're going to cover in this season....I can't freakin' wait!
Hope we get some webisodes about Michonne/the black dude from the beginning. (his name escapes me right now...)
If he's the same character as in the comics, his name is tyreese. Although after the events of last season The Walking Dead (TV show) is The Walking dead in name only. They have diverged so far from the plot of the source material that its practically impossible for them to converge in any way other than superficially.
It's still a good show, but its not "The Walking Dead". It's AMC's Zombie drama.
I never read the comic, but found the show to be one of the best weekend shows around, at least until the season finale.
Blaxploitation ninjas is where the show loses me. I always said that if that wannabe ninja ever showed up in the show, I'd stop watching because I am so thoroughly uninterested in that character.Big meh to that.
Also, the woman with the extremely *****y attitude needed to go. Since episode 2, maybe 3 or whatever of season 1, I've been hoping that she would die. No such luck. She has not, so I am not watching.
The end sequence where my hopes were mercilessly teased by the *****'s death only to be saved by the character whom I knew would kill the series for me was too much.
Such a shame; seriously interesting things had happened in that finale and the prior episodes.
"The Walking Dead" actually refers to the living people experiencing the zombie apocalypse. Once you realize this, the story becomes much more enjoyable.
I collect the comics as well, and have loved the story so far....

I sincerely doubt that something this obvious is lost on anyone. The problem comes from characters who are so annoying—realistic or not—that I no longer want to see what happens.

Michonne is not "blaxploitation". Read the comics, Kirkman has been very good about having a wide variety of characters when it comes to race and gender, she just happens to be a black chick. There are other tough characters that aren't black or female, such as Abraham, a white male. She is also not a wannabe ninja. She's just a character that knows a sword is useful in a zombie apocalypse because it's silent and doesn't have to be reloaded. And fanboys like swords, it doesn't really matter who wields it. Its the same reason there's swords in star wars, swords are cool. I really think you're being overly critical here and just looking for reasons to not like the show.
As for Andrea, I agree with that. I don't know if it's the writers of the show or the actress playing her but she isn't a whiny, *****y, stupid, pain in the ass in the comics.
So what did everyone think of the premier? I liked it. There was twice that I mentioned things they did in the comics to a friend saying "I wonder if they'll do that in the show". Then minutes later they both happened to Hershel.
I have not looked at any spoilers for the show, but I am greatly looking forward to see where they take the group next.
Season 2 finale was awesome and allowed the writers to be very creative for a Season 3 premier.
Post your thoughs, ideas and any thing you see fitting. And, as always, please follow the forum rules when posting.
I've heard good things about this show and I wanna get into a new show
Also, the Comic Book series is also very good and is different from the TV series.

However, even though they killed Sophia, I still can't imagine them killing an infant.
Either way, season 3 is going to be very interesting.
