While I'm a huge Hawks fan, (It seems hockey isn't popular on this board.) I don't think the Hawks are a dynasty until they win four. The main issue is that if the Kings win in the next two years, then they will have 3 cups in 6 years as well. Do we have two dynasties then? If the Hawks can slot one more cup with their current core, then I think we can call them a cap-era dynasty. Until then, I'll wait and hope. After living through the terrible years of Dollar Bill Wirtz, these cups are a long time coming.

I would say yes, this team is definitely a dynasty. Three wins in six years is quite a feat in modern professional sports. Just think if an NFL team won 3 in 6 years, they would undoubtedly be considered a dynasty. I don't think the Kings can win another cup in the next two years, so we don't really have to worry about that happening.

The Hawks are top 3 for me behind Buffalo (Yes the Sabres), and the Kings (Even though we lost Justin Williams). I think that getting cups in consecutive seasons is almost impossible in this day in age, what with shorter term contracts, rule changes and the like. So the next best thing is scoring 3 cups in 6 years (check Chicago Blackhawks), I'd say it's the closest thing to a dynasty a team can do. If the kings match I would say that they would be of dynasty caliber. I think the last team to win four in close succession would have been the Red Wings in 11ish years with 2 in '98, '99 and in '02 and '08.
