Typically VAN has a slow October/November but have a strong December/January/February. Interesting to see how this translates to a shortened season.
even though I hate the leafs, I'm interested to see how they'll do this season, since they have had problems either midway through the season or at the end of the season

the main story on the mainstream media is whether or not they will get Luongo. I would tend to think they will...at a hefty price.

Im calling fake. Aside from PHI brass already coming out and laughing at this latest rumor, this move just makes absolutely no sense.

@adater
Holmgren is a proven liar when it comes to trade denials. Just sayin'
@adater
Just ask Mike Richards and Jeff Carter
IMO it doesn't make sense, but it didn't make sense to me when they traded Richards and Carter, so we'll see. A couple of tidbits from a fan forum (so the reliability of this is questionable), that the Canucks are asking for Grossman and, worse case scenario, Brayden Schenn.
But I think it's Toronto for sure, Nonis has connections with Luongo and the Vancouver organization and it was rumored that Burke was fired because he wasn't willing to go the distance to get Luongo, which might imply that Nonis will.

schedules are up, the Habs look like they don't have too bad of a schedule for the first few bit, hopefully they can do better this season than last year

gonna be a rough 5+ years while they rebuild. Even rougher if Cole follows through and retires

A rather weak and needless generalization, no? The guy can play.
I'm interested in why Carolina, because of the addition of Jordan Staal possibly?
They signed Alex Semin as well and play in a soft division also

If they give up picks for him then Burke should be fired 2 days later.
Vancouver would be dumb to give him up though in my opinion, even if he wasn't that great in the playoffs last season
They have to get rid of him, he is a cancer now that he will not be starting. If he started for them then he would be worth keeping.
if the leafs don't make the playoffs, Burke is going to be fired anyways. It's a no win situation for him
the season sched will likely be drawn up after the CBA is ratified

Well you know Philly, gotta have that new overpriced goalie smell. Now with less crazy Russian.
