I watched the Suns vs. Kings game tonight, and honestly, it reminded me of the one thing that I really, really dislike about the NBA. The referees. It was absolutely ridiculous, they called every conceivable foul against the Suns(including a few where nothing actually happened at all), and just ignored as many fouls as they could against the Kings. The Suns won anyway, but, a team shouldn't have to defeat the referees and the other team.
First off, Razgriz, you sound like a typical New England fan. The Celtics are a one-man team, while the Nets play like a team, although admittedly they have less depth than when they reached the NBA Finals.
Now then, onto the brawl between the Knicks and Nuggets. Stern needs to put his foot down on this one like he did to Ron Artest a couple of years ago. I hear that there are going to be 10 suspensions handed out, which should kill the already desperate Knicks and set back the Nuggets. This isn't going to help the league's image, I'll tell you that much.
MWombat- the leagues image? I'm sorry, the one where the best rebounder wears a wedding dress? (Rodman) Where players go into stands? Where the stars are covered from head to toe in tatoos, and the leagues best scorer appears in a 'Stop Snitchin' street dvd?
Yeah, this is the straw

Tell that to Michael Jordan it seems like every time he was playing for the Bulls he took that team to nearly the championship. If not the championship I'm sorry but one player can make a team nearly unbeatable. Yes the Bulls had other good players but when you have the best player of all time its much easier to win with average talent in the other 4 roles.
Yeah the bulls had scottie pippen who was an all-around small forward and probably the 2nd or 3rd best player in the nba in the last few years when they won championships in my opinion. He was also really good on defense which helped alot getting alot of steals and creating fast breaks. Then they have steve kerr and tony kukoc who can flat out shoot the ball pretty well. They pretty much had the whole package as well as the best player in nba history michael jordan.
fun fact: the person who was solely responsible for being able to bring tony kukoc to the NBA from Benetton Treviso of the Euro league was Maurizio Gherardini, the assistant GM of the Toronto Raptors (who have won 3 straight without bosh, hooray!)
I would like to comment on the brawl between new york knicks and denver nuggets that fight was not pretty at all. Reminds me of the brawl between the pistons and the pacers. I hope carmelo does not get suspended for that many games since he is their go to guy on the denver nuggets and he has stepped up his game dramatically since last season. He will probably be an all-star this year and many years to come and possibly even a superstar in the league.
According to ESPN.com, Denver has won the Iverson sweepstakes. The Sixers agreed to trade AI for Andre Miller, Joe Smith and his expiring contract, and two first round draft picks. So after all the fuss they end up with Miller, a little cap space next year and two picks in a draft that is supposedly going to be very deep. I guess they did as well as they could under the circumstances. I think Denver is one of the better places Iverson could have ended up. Once they get all their guys back from suspensions, they'll have a starting lineup of Iverson, JR Smith, Melo, whoever they start at 4 (Najera? Evans?) and Camby. I think that's a pretty solid team. They'll probably end up with a pretty low seed in the playoffs because of all these suspensions, but I definitely wouldn't want to play them after they have a little time to learn how to play with Iverson.
Yeah I was quite surprised when nuggets got iverson now lets hope they can all play together then I am pretty sure they can rise up to any challenge especially on the west coast where phoenix suns are playing really well since the 1992 season with charles barkeley's playoff run team. But in my opinion i think this suns team is better then sir charles team. Since they seem to have more scorers and also have steve nash that possibly could win his 3rd mvp award in a row which i believe nobody has ever done that before.
I saw that when I was exercising. Denver, eh? This will help them through their suspensions, surely. Denver plays like a good team (as opposed to Philadelphia, which was a one-man operation), so I hope that Iverson doesn't ruin that.
Iverson can play well with other talented players. He was the best player on the national team at the 2004 olympics. He just hasn't had much of a supporting cast in Philadelphia, so he's had to try and do everything by himself.
I was hoping Earl Boykins would go to Philly (he had 29 points last game!) so I could nab a sweet jersey. Seriously, though, Boykins is the ****. I'm happy for Iverson since it seems now the Nuggets are going to be a legit finals contender, and I would love nothing more than to see Iverson win his championship before going out.
I think it's pretty bogus that Isiah Thomas didn't get suspended at all. What he said to Carmelo was blatantly obvious. I can't stand that guy, I've never liked him. I remember when he played, the Pistons were a ridiculously dirty team then, and he was a big part of it.
I think the rest of it(the suspensions) was well-deserved, though. It's pathetic how lacking in self-control so many NBA players are now. Maybe if they'd stop taking players straight out of high school and wait for them to grow up and mature some, it wouldn't be so bad. It's sad that the league as a whole seems like so many thugs. Obviously not everyone is that way, but, too many people are. What strikes me as ironic is that the best teams in the league don't appear to have those kind of problems.
I don't think that Denver will win the championship this year. It'll take time for them to adjust to a playing style that includes someone like Allen Iverson, plus Carmelo being out for the next 15 games. Next year they might have a chance, though.
Yeah i hope for the denver fans sake that iverson and carmelo anthony will possibly the next greatest duo since the kobe bryant and shaq days. Although i think they can even be better then that duo in my opinon. Plus this should be a less of a stress on both of them to score 30 or more points a night to actually win ball games.:)
I don't think that Kobe/Shaq is exactly the duo that anyone would want to be compared to. All that those two ever did was ***** about each other and try to one-up each other. The Lakers probably would have been alot more successful(seriously, the team they had for awhile there was utterly ridiculous) if Shaq/Kobe could have gotten on better.
Well, at least Philadelphia got a better deal out of this trade than when they traded Charles Barkley to the Suns in 1992 (Jeff Hornacek and a couple of other nobodies). The draft picks will make or break this deal. Still, I expect to see a similar drop off in quality like the ones they had the last two times they traded a big name star (Barkley the last time and Wilt Chamberlain the time before that).

Yeah, I mean all they did was win three consecutive championships. What a bunch of losers.

Yeah all the bulls did with Jordan/Pippen was win 6 championships. I think if Kobe/Shaq played together like Jordan/Pippen did they coulda won even more championships. But don't tell that to the laker fans, who are still thinking that they were the best team ever during there Kobe/Shaq time.
Hooray 5 in a row for the blazers not bad for the supposed worst team in the West!

OK, where did this Bulls stuff come from? I don't see what Jordan and Pippen have to do with anything. Of course they won six championships, they had the best player of all time and the best coach of all time. All they have in common is Phil Jackson. Sure, Jackson won six titles in nine years with the Bulls. Would he have won eight in a row if Jordan hadn't retired? Who can tell? Once Phil Jackson came on board the Lakers went to the Finals four times in five years and won three consectuivetimes. I'd say that's pretty good. Maybe they could have done better if Shaq and Kobe had been able to coexist, but we'll never know.

Oh, wait...that's because Dalembert is a complete hack and a bum.
No star players left in Philly, and a management that has no idea how to rebuild a team. I think I'll go cry now

And four of those games were when Roy wasn't around. Watch what happens when he does come back.
I smell a return to the playoffs and a start of another long streak of playoff runs.
