I guess if the mods over here really want me to change stuff I can, but it seems kind of awkward to have an entire thread full of spoilers so I'm staking this one out for spoiler discussion and other people can make a non-spoiler thread if they really want?
Actually the only thing I want to say is to rant about the huge foot battle in Wakanda.
Is it now a requirement that we have a big giant foot battle setpiece for some reason? And this one is literally on the same field that the one in Black Panther was on?
As far as I can tell the main reason to do this was to have a somewhat different feel than the Thanos fight on Titan which was a small number of characters pulling off super moves together. The fight in Wakanda I guess was showing "look at the quantity of ass that these people can kick" through alien deaths, and also I guess showing that Wakanda has a bunch of other people that can fight aliens too.
I'm no military buff or anything but I feel it would have been way more satisfying to have an actual tactical flow to this battle and have Wakanda behave like an actual military with vehicles and stationary defenses and stuff instead of a bunch of people who stand in a field.
I know for sure T'Chaka said something like "activate all defenses" but then apparently they needed to keep all the aliens on one side because they would be utterly defenseless if some of them walked around to the other side...
This would have also been a cool chance to show off the remaining Black Order members. Here's my armchair attempt:
Thanos's ships fire against the dome and show how impenetrable it is, great Wakandan tech, sure. Even better, as soon as the ships show up, there are Wakandan cannons or interceptors that bring them to the ground.
Cull Obsidian (the big strong Black Order guy) shows up and uses his hammer to smash through part of the dome for long enough to let some of the big wheel vehicles in.
The Wakandan forces have automated cannons/drones and stuff that exchange fire with the wheels from several positions. Hulkbuster suit, War Machine, Falcon are out providing support, maybe some other heroes are in vehicles.
The heroes make some wheels smash into each other and stuff, but then out of the wreckage swarm the Outrider aliens, seeing them for the first time.
Then it's like "oh crap" as another wheel rolls straight into one of the main cannons, smashing it, and Outriders start deploying onto it and overpowering the Wakandan soliders there. Black Panther and some others zoom over there to help.
Another wheel is almost destroyed, but opens up and shoots some kind of missile ship up to the lab. We see that it contains Proxima Midnight and Corvus Glaive.
I guess Black Widow, Scarlet Witch and Okoye can still have a cliche "women fight each other" battle with Proxima if that's what people need.
Cull Obsidian destroys another defense installation.
The defenses seem overrun and Outriders are swarming the main tower, then Thor shows up and wrecks them.
Bruce kills Cull Obsidian or whatever.
Corvus infiltrates the lab, crashes out of it with Vision as actually happened.
Everyone closes in on a square or whatever is outside of the lab, somebody kills Corvus.
Thanos shows up and the rest pretty much happens as is.
Anyway, there were tons of exciting and fun and humorous parts and the movie was good, even if I am a bit too jaded to be surprised at the ending. ThorQuest was maybe the best part. Mostly just wanted to yell on the Internet about the stuff above, feel free to discuss other stuff!
