I just got back from seeing Avatar in 3D.
It's well worth your money.
I'm definitely buying it on Blu-ray when it comes out, but if you miss seeing it in the theater in 3D, then you are doing yourself a great disservice.
The last movie I saw in the theaters was Princess and the Frog. Not too bad, some funny parts. If you have kids, take them to it. As for adults, it's decent, but probably worth waiting for.
The last movie I saw at home was Pete's Dragon. Decided to get it for the wife since she loves that movie. She hasn't seen it in 15 years and never owned it but she still remembers the songs.
Just watched "Taxi Driver" in the continuation of my "Why the hell haven't you seen this movie" line (Previously: the Rocky series; upcoming: Goodfellas).
What an awesome movie. DeNiro really packed a whollop of a character with Bickle.
"If I do go to heaven, I'll smack god across the face and tell him to get me a grilled-cheeses sandwhich and then say 'Yea what now god!? Say some'in! I dare you!' "
Took the Mrs. to see Avatar last night and she absolutely adored it (as I knew she would). It's definitely in my top 3 for the decade. I liked it even better the second time because we sat much closer to the screen than I had before, so the visuals and 3D effect was just that much better. If it wasn't raining tonight, I might have gone to see Daybreakers or Book of Eli.
Body of Lies Leonardo DiCaprio and Russel Crowe. Thought it wasn't good at all. It's almost close to impossible the scenario and the story. For a movie that kinda relate to the situation in the middle east this is far fetch

Isn't a rainy night the best time to see a movie?
Just watched Harry Potter VI (the Half-Blood Prince) for the 2nd time and I'm still disappointed about the lack of important memories omitted from the film (i.e. the post-Howgarts Riddle collecting his future hocruxes); but moreso, still extremely pissed-off about the lack of a true battle at the end.

(about the English language) It's kinda like a raft that was cobbled together from parts of three different boats and since then has been kept barely afloat with crude repairs every time a leak appeared.
I somehow got convinced to watch "Final Fantasy: Advent Children", and it was absolutely dreadful. No story and idiotic characters, just confusing battle scenes all the way through. Do not watch this movie ever, especially if you like the series.
It's not safe for me to drive at night in the rain. I have awful night vision that is exacerbated by rain due to the PRK eye surgery I had in '97. We stayed home and watched the Golden Globes instead.
Last night we watched G-Force. It's a pass, in case you were tempted.
I'm due to see Lovely Bones on Thursday night. Hope it doesn't rain!
I watched Diamond today. Another bad movie I think, just a bunch of unnecessary deaths that could have been avoided if the characters in the movie are smart.
I just got back from seeing The Lovely Bones as I'd predicted earlier (and it did rain, dammit!).
The movie overall was well constructed and acted, but it just didn't have the soulful connection/impact that it deserved. I can't say that any of the actors did poorly (even though I'm not the biggest Mark Wahlberg fan, he was okay), like the ghostly Susie Salmon, there was something intangible and just outside of reach that made the movie less than what it could have potentially been.
The best acting job was Stanley Tucci (that man can do anything in my book), but overall I'd say it's a wait for cable title.
I saw the Book of Eli last Friday. It was better than I thought it would be. The story wasn't terribly complex but that didn't take away from the overall movie experience. The only bothersome bit was the fact that everything that happened before the events of the movie would have made a better movie. We've seen post-apocalyptic wastelands many times. I want to watch humanity's descent into barbarism and a new dark age. I know thats a bit weird but I'm a history buff and love reading about alternate pasts and futures.
I saw avatar and I loved it, i'm just trying to see why people are saying the movie was all about tech. I don't think the movie could have been done with people in blue suits or it could have been filmed somewhere because that world is not real. O well it was great.
And finally, the summum (doesn't say much, but still) of my film rampage this week: Spirited Away. I was actually biased against this one, because of its childish image, bit of a lame title and HORRIBLE MOTHER☺☺☺☺ING DUTCH DUBS (else my niece wouldn't understand it). But it completely blew me away. Easily one for the 'favorite movies ever' list.
It's hard to beat Miyazaki.
Here's two more from him that needs to be on your watch list if you haven't experienced them already:
Kiki's Delivery Service (for your niece)
Princess Mononoke (for yourself--may be too violent for your niece)
the last movie i saw was avatar. yes i'm late, i know. despite all the hype and glorious ratings, i'm partial. i mean the plants were nicely lit, the background was lush and well designed, and the charcters (more the amticaya, than the humans) had lifelike personas to them, but the plot was kinda slow for my taste. plus how many things can you do with a ponytail? (like ride a horse, oh bad pun )

Last movie I saw was Avatar. Visually, it was incredible. James Cameron doing what he does best. Plot wasn't the best thing ever, and it was quite long too, but it was a very good movie nonetheless, good action scenes and very entertaining. A
The last movie I saw was The Hangover. In my opinion, it was a little bit overhyped, but still ****ing hilarious! I lol'd really hard many times, and at some points I cringed. All around a good movie though.
Had to see Avatar again! LOL! It's very good I actually noticed some things I didn't the first time I saw it. Like the planes didn't fly high enough over the flying mountains to drop the bombs! Oh well, I wonder if there's a sequel for this one
Watched 3:10 to Yuma with the wife tonight. It was... okay. I mostly wanted to see it because of the cast (and not just Bale and Crowe), and in that aspect it was pretty good. But the movie itself kinda bored me, I've never really gone for westerns. I guess I'd recommend it.
Now I have Howl's Moving Castle reserved at the library. Hope it's worth it.
Howl's Moving Castle is awesome.

Eva Green or Team America, depends on how I'm feeling
Blood Diamond
Hitman
Rambo 1,2 or 3
Twelve Monkeys
Die Hard 4
The Seventh Seal
Anyone can comment without spoiling? The Seventh Seal is probably the best choice, but I'm feeling more for an action movie now.
I thought the first Rambo was pretty good. The second was meh, and haven't seen the 3rd. I kinda want to see the new 4th one also. But definitely check out the original.

She wasn't so bad in that movie.
