I actually have dabbled into this Paper Trading Card Game / Collectible Card Game with a Wind / Water deck but never got around to actually playing the game as much since there's only a couple of people I know who actually still play it. That and I've been spending most of my money on EDH / Commander in MTG where I was just recently forced to quit Cardfight!! Vanguard due to the impact the global pandemic has had on the game, it's players, and community overall. It also doesn't help that Square Enix has been doing a much better job at handling the Final Fantasy TCG compared to how Bushiroad has handled Cardfight!! Vanguard as of late where they power creeped themselves into a corner bad enough to reboot the entire game which kinda made sense as to why Konami didn't take that risk with Yu-Gi-Oh!. Can you imagine If they did though?
One of my good friends has been keeping me up to date with how the meta for Final Fantasy TCG keeps evolving which I gotta say is actually pretty interesting to where now they have their own version of MTG's Storm mechanic which almost coincides with the new Magecraft mechanic from MTG's Strixhaven but we can let that slide for now. I'm not as much of a diehard Final Fantasy fan as some of my friends are so my introduction to the franchise was surely enough Final Fantasy VII nearly 20 years ago. I remember one of my friends from school purchasing the game back when we were in Middle School and I remember him saying that he enjoyed the game. The gameplay mechanics for the TCG are actually pretty good though I'm not sure how it compares to Flesh and Blood TCG since my LGS refuses to carry product for it.
