Boston Comic-Con shall be held from Friday, August 8 to Sunday, August 10 of 2014, and I am planning to attend the event, having never been to it before. I am a great fan of comics, especially Marvel and DC Comics, and I do expect that they shall have a strong presence there. I plan to cosplay as Calvin from Calvin and Hobbes, since I am very familiar with that series and believe that I can act in character with great accuracy and enthusiasm. Since I enjoyed PAX East last year, I do expect that I shall enjoy this event, as well.
Will anyone else here be attending this event? For those who have attended it in the past, what stories and experiences can you share about it? I look forward to your feedback!

“Those who would trade their freedoms for security will have neither.”-Benjamin Franklin
“When the people fear the government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.”-Thomas Jefferson
“A vote is like a rifle; its usefulness depends upon the character of its user.”-Theodore Roosevelt
“Patriotism means to stand by one's country; it does not mean to stand by one's president.”-Theodore Roosevelt
I think I'll check it out as well. Will there be any MTG events at the convention?
I am not certain of that; it is more likely that any M:tG events would be at a convention such as PAX, but perhaps, since there is a series of M:tG comics, they may have a presence at this events, as well.

I have returned from the event, and it was simply amazing!
First, I shall mentioned the aspects of it that I did not like, as they are very few: the line leading into the building was very long; I was waiting for a half-hour or more, and the food was expensive; I paid $5.00 for a single slice of pizza and $3.00 for a can of soda, but, apart from those complaints, there was nothing that I did not enjoy about the convention.
The event was crowded, but that did not at all bother me. It was similar to PAX East, that I attended last year, but, at that event, only a small number of people were in costume, while, at this event, at least half of all the attendees were dressed up.
Numerous people recognized me as Calvin from Calvin and Hobbes, for which I was very glad, and I certainly saw many people whose characters I recognized, as well I (but many more characters whom I did not recognize). I took many photographs of the convention center and the crowds in general, but I also asked people in cosplay to take personal photographs with me. I cannot recall every person with whom I took a photograph, but I one of my favorites was with two stormtroopers from Star Wars and then Darth Vader himself.
For a souvenir, I purchased several prints of fan art: a portrait of Maleficent from Disney's Sleeping Beauty; a portrait of many of the best-known Disney villains (there are too many to list); a portrait of Azula from Avatar: the Last Airbender, sitting upon the throne of the firelord, wearing the firelord's crown, with the items of the heroes scattered about, showing her triumph over them; and an image of Darth Vader fighting Xenomorphs from the Alien franchise. I paid only $20.00 for those four images, which was an incredible bargain, in my mind.
I remained at the event for several hours, but I left around 5:00 PM, since I also wished to see the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film, about which I shall speak in another thread. I am not certain about when I may attend this event again, due to its expense and the long lines, but it was definitely an experience that I enjoyed most thoroughly and am glad that I had.
