Probably more Rakdos than anything. Definitely has in him with all the crash and burn style of wrestling he does.
Also the insanity thing really says Rakdos.
It was, I dunno if it's still being showed though.
This is probably cliché, but I want my MTV back. I dunno though... even if they showed videos and cartoons if I'd watch them on the network. YouTube and Netflix make me sooooooooooo happy.
The decks I seen ran three I think. I seen two different decks so far and both played Sword of Fire and Ice too along with Batterskull/Jitte.
I thought it looked like it was missing a sword or two. I didn't know though. I see Stone Blade decks that run, seemingly, a bit more equipment. I wanted to build it in fact, but have not researched it at all.
Completely adorable.
....
Agreed :thumbsup:.
An extension of me, so she's bound to be and do adorable things.
It realy is cute though. They made me an epic poster yesterday. It's on my FB if anyone is curious.
(!00 Internets for anyone knowing what a MAlkavian is without looking it up)
Are those the insane ones or the snobs?
My Vampire the Masquerade (spelling?) memories are buried beneath a giant pile of useless knowledge. I looked into various RPG systems like that and MERS like 10 years ago ... no idea what each clan is about any more.
Brown artifacts in white border work out quite well, especially 5th ed or newer, where the brown is stronger and feels less washed out. Also, they send me on a nostalgia trip.
Also, thanks for the inspiration to dig through my old stuff! I went through a random old-looking box and found a bunch of sweet cards ...
Legacy and Vintage are probably my favorite formats. For the powah!
Legacy was my favorite format. But when I can get all 40 shocklands or get 4 Tundra (for relatively the same cost) for one of many examples, Modern becomes way more appealing.

The insane ones. Toreador were snobs. So were the Ventrue. So were most of the Camarilla. The WoD system was a varied d10 system. It was fun. The flavor really got me with those games. And the clans/tribes/whatever were so cool. Still wish I had all my source books. I have a few still, but I used to have all of them.

Is it bad I knew what each card was because the art glimpse? Those are nice oldies.
He actualy... does look more whack with his natural hair color. He wouldn't look as bad as a naturally colored blonde, imo. That pic looks like he's pooping or can't poop... something.

That's why many players find Modern and Standard sooooo appealing. Makes sense.

I like it when his natural hair color bleeds through the blonde, but I don't like his hair freshly dyed or completely natural either.

Too much tan for that platinum look.
Modern is a nice Medium. It lets me go rogue and still win.
Hecks yea.
No one guessed my second favorite artifact :p. A few hints: It's Modern legal, and it's good with Lightning Bolt.
Correct :). I love that card so much. But it is so vulnerable to a wide variety of things :(.
Te Scepter is soooooo much fun to play with. "Counterspell on a stick" is so much fun. Casting those old split cards for two... also so much fun. The user AdGokou83 has a UG Return deck with sticks. It's brutal, especially for rogue modern.
Most Deathblade decks are only running one of each, or 2 batterskull. running one of each prevents Meddling Mage and the like easier. With 4 Stone Forge, 3 Snapcaster, and all the control , why do you need more than 2 wincons?
I just watched a very similar deck on the feature match of the SCG Legacy open going on right now. Looked fun to play, but got paired up against a bad matchup (reanimator).
That Should be a good match up. Let them reanimate the big nasties after a few Force of Will on reanimate spells, Swords the big guys that get in, no problem. Seems like bad play, or bad Shuffling. I can see match 1 going either way, but 2 and/or 3 should have been Blade over reanimator.
Looking at older videos and promos/matches with him I really like that character. Especially the stuff he did with The Rock (Rock N Sock Connection comes to mind).
The Rock(Dwayne Johnson) needed no sidekick. He was the last good character on any wrestling show.
Legacy and Vintage are probably my favorite formats. For the powah!
THA POWAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I always wanted Castle Gray Skull or the Sword or something He-Man in a Magic Card. I like Legacy/ Vintage because I remember opening a lot of these cards in packs when I was young.
This is probably cliché, but I want my MTV back. I dunno though... even if they showed videos and cartoons if I'd watch them on the network. YouTube and Netflix make me sooooooooooo happy.
Yeah, MTV is not OUR MTV. It's Clichéd, but for good reason. MTV used to stand for Music TeleVision.
I thought it looked like it was missing a sword or two. I didn't know though. I see Stone Blade decks that run, seemingly, a bit more equipment. I wanted to build it in fact, but have not researched it at all.
Too much Equipment just clogs the deck up without enough targets. Or your single target gets swords after you attach an equipment. You need to hold counterspells, drop a Batterskull that resolves, and bounce it to protect it. The Jitte Gains life, Progs your wincon, and/or kills stuff. You don't really need the swords. Unless they untap for the countersoells you are holding.

No it's Not. I Saw them In this order: Winter Orb, Mana Vault, Ivory Tower, Idk, Blue Elemental Blast?, and idfk. I'm just proud that, as an artificer, I knew the artifacts. Just hate those white borders.
He actualy... does look more whack with his natural hair color. He wouldn't look as bad as a naturally colored blonde, imo. That pic looks like he's pooping or can't poop... something.
He's pooping out coolness. It's a requirement for modern day wrstleers.

I knew that from the Lightening Bolt. It was either that or Spellweaver Helix, but it's an instant that tries to be as good as Ancestral Recall, so it was Isochron.

Counterspell is a good one too. I just like Remand because it draws you a card, and people won't even cast it after a remand if your Scepter isn't tapped.

I just didn't know. Seemed light though.
That is an acceptable response from someone who lives in Ohio and is smart.
While I have lived in ohio for a while. I'm not from Ohio. But yea... brown is poop.
We meaning us two? The almost 30ers?
I think Raz is also up there with us.
Yincess? "Lucy, you have some 'splainin' to do!"
It's Pittsburgh slang. Yinz= Y'all/You all, Yinzer(s)= Guy or Group of Guys from Pittsburgh area, Yincess= Daughter or Girlfriend of a Yinzer.

You know we will miss our kids when they leave us.
I plan on my children remaining Daddy's boys/girl. They will never leave me.
But really, when they do it will be a very bittersweet day. Happy they'd have grown up, unhappy they were leaving. Still, quite a many years before that happens.
Well don't keep a Dimma waitin'!
She already answered. Nath'd or missed a post?
Let's let the viewer decide.
Uh.........WE cause the insanity. Hellooooooo?!??!!!?????!?!?
Depends, would we normally employ those we've made insane? Plus if Mankind was a real character, I'm sure he would have been born insane. Being born insane seems more like Rakdos.
Speaking of RACKDOS! My gf is here so my posting may slow down a bit.

I feel you. You think Stone Blade or Death Blade is better.
Saw it. Epic isn't the word. I don't think there is a word for that much kid love.
I know, right? It's like 6 feet long, three feet wide.
He's pooping out coolness. It's a requirement for modern day wrstleers.
Poop jokes.
Yeah, but Legacy is more rewarding. Both Personal, and when you win.
Also, I have an ass-mode edh deck where I win with Solemn Simalcrum beats while I scepter chant and/or "boomerang on a stick a Winter Orb with Kismet on their turn."
I mean, I don't play the format anymore but I saw this match up twice so far and Deathblade lost both times :shrug:.
Outside of MWS, I don't either. I'm sure I could make a legitimate Budget Legacy deck just outta the stuff that I currently own. The Shrieking Rack Affliction comes to mind. But yeah, I've played Esper Reanimator and A couple Death-Blade/Stone-Blade decks, and the blade seems to work better than a big beater on it's own. Especially since yo uonly need one card to get rid of the threat.
You have to make sure to pull answers other decks have, without losing the GY. But Essentially, it's a typical 2 wincons in a control deck this way, with plenty of places to put them.

But really, when they do it will be a very bittersweet day. Happy they'd have grown up, unhappy they were leaving. Still, quite a many years before that happens.
Glad you can see the Sweetness in the end of the tunnel.

Oh, but behind the apparent insanity is a plotting and brilliant mind. I would think of all people, you would see the Dimir in him.
I feel you. You think Stone Blade or Death Blade is better.
Since Stone Blade makes better use of Stoneforge Mystic, I'd say Stone Blade. I don't think Deathrite Shaman really does a whole lot for the deck besides make another target to get Swords'd and I'm fully aware that I called my Stone Blade deck a Death Blade deck. I just feel like Jitte Brings the Death.
Chant is great, however, I was going on a Modern level with Scepter. But yeah, Orim's Chant is way better. I can argue that Wasteland and/or Disperse is better than Boomerang.
Also, I have an ass-mode edh deck where I win with Solemn Simalcrum beats while I scepter chant and/or "boomerang on a stick a Winter Orb with Kismet on their turn."
Reanimator is running a TON more answers than it used to. Still in 1st on top of the 6 Stone-Blade decks in Top 16, 5 of which begin Esper. Still, didn't see a Esper Stone-Blade deck running more that 1 Batterskull, 1 Jitte. Some ran SoFF, in the SB. Seemed like a good plan. And they're finally running Verdict, lmao.

I should be getting sleep, but staying up till 3am yesterday probably wasn't the best idea. Packing to move this coming Saturday, going to career fairs everywhere and being a lazy bum =p
I'll get you that Wrexial suicide mill EDH list eventually... =p Got hosed by Blood Moon in game 1. Then in the next game I successfully didn't die to a 29/29 Kresh with Surestrike Trident on it. But 3 people left on the board, had been completely milled and would lose at his draw step. I was at 15 life facing his 14 power of creatures on the board (one of each is Lyzolda, the Blood Witch). He can't kill me with Lyzolda because ALL his creatures are black (B or R) and he would lose by not drawing if he were to deal 2 damage to me. =p He swings at me making me mill with my own "mill 10" levithan I can't remember. I mill 10 and he sees my Consuming Abberation. He casts Rise from the Graves taking it, casts Essence Harvest to die all the damages to the 3rd player and he is left with 1 mana open unable to kill us both. =p He passes and I Windfall to kill him. Either do that or lose at his draw step. =p
Had fun and can't wait to play the deck some more.
@Nate: This was in EDH and I was using boomerang scepter to essentially turn the orb into a throttling of my opponent. The chant-stick was just to ensure complete denial.....

The closes I am to building a Legacy deck is Mono Burn, and even then I don't have Price of Progress, Chain Lightning, or any of the older sweet spells.
Can't argue with that a whole lot. But, Buy less, win more can be a better scenario, imo.
Definitely. Generally speaking, anymore I don't buy Standard cards unless they will also be good in Modern (like the Shocklands) but really if I ever have a Standard deck, generally speaking I won the cards to build it.
Even years ago with Five Color control and that deck was by no means cheap.
Can't be countered, can be pitched to Force of Will, takes care of all relevant Legacy creatures, gotta love it :thumbsup:. I can't believe the card is so cheap at the moment.
~~~
As for the Royal Rumble, it was really good and enjoyable but highly predictable.
You got Ball Lightening and/or Blistering Firecats?
Chain Lightening can get expensive, I'm sure you can find a cheap deal at or around $10 for a playset of Price.
Definitely. Generally speaking, anymore I don't buy Standard cards unless they will also be good in Modern (like the Shocklands) but really if I ever have a Standard deck, generally speaking I won the cards to build it.
Or Mutavault. you can still do the same with Legacy. Just need more patience.........I wish I had patience when I started playing.
Orim's Chant, for the SHUTDOWN of most non control based decks. Lol. Fun stuff.
Research // Development is also among my favorite things to put on a stick.
@Anyone, but mainly Teraparsec, how do the new split cards function with Isochron Scepter? The same way as the old ones? Would casting both be an option at the additional cost of the one not being played from the imprint? Please someone, tell me how the new split cards act with the stick.
Can't argue with that a whole lot. But, Buy less, win more can be a better scenario, imo.
Spend less, win more would be the optimal scenario, imo. But that is typically not the case. Typically.
Wrath is the only card, imo, that looks right with a white border.
Some cards look okay, Wrath is one.
You have to make sure to pull answers other decks have, without losing the GY. But Essentially, it's a typical 2 wincons in a control deck this way, with plenty of places to put them.
I see. I am only familiar with Stone Blade by matchup and generic build, and have only ever faced Death Blade once. I know I have all the stuff for Esper Stone blade, I just haven't had the energy to actually build and test it yet. It is on my to do list though.
Where do I get MWS? I used to have it but lost in in computer switching now I can't seem to find a legit copy...
Yeah, thank Cleveland for that. To paraphrase "Cleveland plops, Cleveland plops!"
Where are you from originally?
It's not Cleveland's fault the Browns are horrible, lol. I am from a suburb of Pittsburgh. Latrobe, Pennsylvania. There are golf courses a lame college were the Stillers practice, and an old brewery.
In the Plenty-Over-29ers?
I don't know if I should divulge his actual age, but yea... he is an old fogey too.
That'soutstanding slang
What is some Michigan and Florida slang? Suprisingly, Ohio is the only place I've ever lived in without much region specific slang used.
Let's hope for all yours and my kids. The world is already horrifying, it's only getting worse. Unfortunately, my kids seem to have incredibly independent spirits. I think I'm screwed and they're gonna leave me, all of 'em
As long as we have strong bonds to our children, they will never leave us. Even if they live 1000 miles away:)
Glad you can see the Sweetness in the end of the tunnel.
It'll be sad, for sure, even though as good parents our goal is to have our children grow up to be prosperous, good-minded people in the world. And just because that goal is met, doesn't mean we stop being good parents. We get to do that until the day we pass, and maybe even beyond. We never stop that:) Plus when I become an old man, grandchildren will be loads of fun.
Ridiculo-nathed.
Vindanathed.
Lol.
Oh, but behind the apparent insanity is a plotting and brilliant mind. I would think of all people, you would see the Dimir in him.
Hmmmmm. I would see that if I didn't think the character Mankind was just insane. He was often fooled because people took advantage of this. At least, if my memory serves me correctly. The Undertaker of the same era would be more Dimir. Maybe even MacMahan if his plans didn't usually backfire.
@Ayu and/or Raz, (Raz is also a huge wrestling fan, as anyone looked into his FB could see), most Dimir-y wrestler of all time?
heh heh heh. RACK-dos.
I actually explained that to her and she not only laughed but got it right away. Though I think she now knows we were all talking about her boobs.
:shrugs:
She didn't seem pissed.
In other GF news...
Remember that first year out of high school when you were on winter break from college, or when you were kicking it around your home town for whatever reason and you noticed that the local schools you had previously attended were closed becaue of the winter weather? Remember that crushing feeling you had when you realized you'd never get another real, responsibility free snow day? Well, I have some great news: Snow days are still a lot of fun if you're an adult. When your GF is a grade school teacher.
Mmmmhmmmmmm. I have been waking up neglecting NFL AM until after I have read all the closings at the bottom screen of my local NBC affiliate's programming. Snow days are that much fun for me.
Since Stone Blade makes better use of Stoneforge Mystic, I'd say Stone Blade. You should call it "Stone Sai.".
I can see the reward system in playing Modern. I think it's mainly an 'old' guy thing.
I love modern. But nothing tops the powah of Legacy and further, Vintage. No one wants to play Vintage anymore. And people who do think it's okay to play my deck with proxies. :shrugs: I'm not really down with that. It took a lot of time, money and effort to get my baby where she needs to be. I don't like even thinking about considering to losing against decks with pieces of scribbled on paper in front of mountains, (or whatever). So sadly, for the most part my re-re-rebuild Tezzerator just sits around and looks sexy until I'm at the shop and someone is aggravating me, running their mouth about being the best in their little "causal" playgroup.
Wasteland? What? Am I missing something?
Rofl! That's just mean. I love it.
IT'S NOT MEAN!
Chant on a stick is one of the most beautiful plays I've ever personally witnessed.
Especially against aggro. Then, getting to beat someone to death with Data? I'll have what he's having.
I should be getting sleep, but staying up till 3am yesterday probably wasn't the best idea. Packing to move this coming Saturday, going to career fairs everywhere and being a lazy bum =p
I hate Blood Moon in Commander. It is the bane of my existence if it somehow sticks. At least you got to kill him in game two. With a Windfall to boot. What else was at the table letting someone playing Kresh have a blood moon stick, (aassuming it was the same guy using lots of basics or sources)?
@Macius, I wouldn't be relying on anything from a stick vs hardcore control. Even Orim's Chant. I'd be worried about getting my sticks countered. What do you do to shutdown control?
The closes I am to building a Legacy deck is Mono Burn, and even then I don't have Price of Progress, Chain Lightning, or any of the older sweet spells.
Ameri-Manlands is a fun legacy deck I bet you could build with stuff you have. It's rogueish and can win face, especially in meta's lacking a lot of Wasteland/Tech Edge land hate. js...
I wish Orim's Chant was in Modern, but I will settle for Silence :tongue:.
I know this isn't a spell that's stick bearable, but I love Render Silent. So awesome.
As for the Royal Rumble, it was really good and enjoyable but highly predictable.
I think that is why I ultimately stopped watching wrestling.
how do the new split cards function with Isochron Scepter? The same way as the old ones? Would casting both be an option at the additional cost of the one not being played from the imprint? Please someone, tell me how the new split cards act with the stick.
Fuse is from the hand, so I'd assume you cannot do both when on Scepter. But I am no rules expert :tongue:.
Vintage. No one wants to play Vintage anymore. And people who do think it's okay to play my deck with proxies. :shrugs: I'm not really down with that.
No one wants to pay the prices of Vintage, I am sure people want to play it (I know I do) but it's too expensive. And Legacy is heading that way too slowly for a lot of people. It's ashame really as Legacy looks like a lot of fun to play right now.
I don't like even thinking about considering to losing against decks with pieces of scribbled on paper in front of mountains, (or whatever).
Kinda laughed at this. In the end it's all pieces of paper/cardboard scribbled/printed on.
I mean, I don't like it either :tongue:. But that's why I only play with cards I actually own and I loathe to borrow ever. So I understand the feeling but still giggled :p.
@Anyone, but mainly Teraparsec, how do the new split cards function with Isochron Scepter? The same way as the old ones? Would casting both be an option at the additional cost of the one not being played from the imprint? Please someone, tell me how the new split cards act with the stick.
Also, the card I like best on a stick is Abeyance. Few people immediately realize it shuts down planeswalkers.
As for multicoloured Standard control decks: I normally don't do Standard, but I recently saw a nice 4CC build, which used plenty of scrylands to fix mana and draws, Caryatid for ramp, Jace and Sphinx's Rev for more cards, D-Spheres and Verdicts to clear the table of threats, Selesniya Charms for general trolling ('exile your Erebos'), and Assemble the Legion plus Elspeth for winning. Looked very sweet (and durdly) and somehow makes me want to play it.
With that price tag, I might want to trade away those Mutavaults. If I really need a man-land, I can still fall back on the Assembly Worker, which is way less expensive, comes with the (the nostalgy!) old card frame, and has quite a reputation in our EDH group.
About proxies: no problems if someone is trying to figure out a new deck or something. Hate them in EDH. Also, I recently found an old proxy of mine, which had written 'Money' on it. No idea what it stood for ...
"If the copied card is a split card, you may choose to cast either side of the split card, but not both. The split cards Fire/Ice, Illusion/Reality, Night/Day, Stand/Deliver, and Wax/Wane all have at least one side with converted mana cost 2 or less.)"
With the new ones, fuse says only from your hand. =p
I'm sure some lucky employer will grab you up soon.
How's moving working out?
Ya. It's just busy this week. Yesterday, I watched all of AoT (attack on titan) for the second time subbed, this time on Netflix. It's still as nuts as I remember. Then I decided to read the manga chapters up until the latest release (in which season 1 of the anime only covers the 1st 34 out of 53 manga chapters) and my head is exploding from all the nonsense that the author had made. And then I realized it was 10pm and I need to get my stuff together for career fairs (change of clothes, etc) and get my plan of attack for the next 2 days.
Also was thinking of how to transport my cards (everything I own) to my folks place in chunks instead of breaking my back and taking all the cards home at the same time. But I stopped and looked at my card collection and wondered if I needed ALL that cardboard... =p I'll be going through and taking what I wanna keep and dumping the rest. Need to cut the cord!
Moving out will be this Saturday. Met with my friends and they are traveling up the night before and we'll putz for the evening. Grab the UHaul in the morning and then move Saturday morning. I'm completely downplaying how much stuff I have (no furniture beside an Ikea bed frame, desk, and dresser). But I just need to take the time and pack my clothes and make things in stacks so I can easily move things to the truck or into one of our cars. Working today, but taking the rest of the week off to do the fairs, interviews, or pack.
I hate Blood Moon in Commander. It is the bane of my existence if it somehow sticks. At least you got to kill him in game two. With a Windfall to boot. What else was at the table letting someone playing Kresh have a blood moon stick, (aassuming it was the same guy using lots of basics or sources)?
Two seperate games. Numot played the Blood Moon in game 1 with a Jarad, Silver Queen, and Wrexial (me). SQ was hosed and did nothing. I had 2 Islands and nonbasics and had to tutor for a swamp, but Numot hit SQ and his triggers hit my basic swamps....sooooo THAT was fun. >_>
Game 2, going clockwise, was me (wrex), Kresh, Glissa, 'dumb Cleric Legend from Legends', and Mayael. Two of my non-magic friends showed up, but my pal (playing Kresh) and I wanted to get in 1 more game (we had played with Patron of the Orochi and Marath and THAT game lasted 2+ hrs). So I shuffled up Wrexial again and saw Mesmeric Orb in my starting hand. So I kept in the hopes of making things quick. =) Kresh hit mayael for general damage and he died. I Pongnify'd Glissa to slow him down and Glissa got Trident'd. =p That's where my previous story takes over.
About proxies: no problems if someone is trying to figure out a new deck or something. Hate them in EDH. Also, I recently found an old proxy of mine, which had written 'Money' on it. No idea what it stood for ...
"Money". Lol.
Of the most recently made 2 EDH, Wrexial has at least 10 proxies, some of which am I currently trading for and others where I"m going to be obtaining in the future (i.e. Judge promo Bribery). I haven't proxied anything 'ridic' like Yawgoth's Will or degenerate, but I always make sure to annouce to the table that I have proxies and don't pee your pants when I play them =p
I also proxy cards that I own but don't have multiple copies of. I need another Kozilek for my 5color deck, but I'm not going out to get another one. =p If I at least have one or I'm planning to get actual copies of the card, I'll use proxes all day erryday.
Also the insanity thing really says Rakdos.
This is probably cliché, but I want my MTV back. I dunno though... even if they showed videos and cartoons if I'd watch them on the network. YouTube and Netflix make me sooooooooooo happy.
I thought it looked like it was missing a sword or two. I didn't know though. I see Stone Blade decks that run, seemingly, a bit more equipment. I wanted to build it in fact, but have not researched it at all.
An extension of me, so she's bound to be and do adorable things.
It realy is cute though. They made me an epic poster yesterday. It's on my FB if anyone is curious.
I second this.
Are those the insane ones or the snobs?
Brown artifacts in white border work out quite well, especially 5th ed or newer, where the brown is stronger and feels less washed out. Also, they send me on a nostalgia trip.
Also, thanks for the inspiration to dig through my old stuff! I went through a random old-looking box and found a bunch of sweet cards ...
I shall attach an image to this post.
Legacy was my favorite format. But when I can get all 40 shocklands or get 4 Tundra (for relatively the same cost) for one of many examples, Modern becomes way more appealing.
The insane ones. Toreador were snobs. So were the Ventrue. So were most of the Camarilla. The WoD system was a varied d10 system. It was fun. The flavor really got me with those games. And the clans/tribes/whatever were so cool. Still wish I had all my source books. I have a few still, but I used to have all of them.
Is it bad I knew what each card was because the art glimpse? Those are nice oldies.
He actualy... does look more whack with his natural hair color. He wouldn't look as bad as a naturally colored blonde, imo. That pic looks like he's pooping or can't poop... something.
That's why many players find Modern and Standard sooooo appealing. Makes sense.
Putting the sexy in Science Fiction!
gamertag: filthychocolate
I knew them too :),
I like it when his natural hair color bleeds through the blonde, but I don't like his hair freshly dyed or completely natural either.
Modern is a nice Medium. It lets me go rogue and still win.
No one guessed my second favorite artifact :p. A few hints: It's Modern legal, and it's good with Lightning Bolt.
Too much tan for that platinum look.
Hecks yea.
???
The suspense for Raz's bro is killing me, lol.
Putting the sexy in Science Fiction!
It's also good with Lightning Helix, Silence, and many other 2 cmc or less instants ;).
If I can't get my cards for my UWR deck together, I will likely run a deck with this artifact in it, next Modern tournament.
What is Isochron Scepter?
Putting the sexy in Science Fiction!
gamertag: filthychocolate
Correct :). I love that card so much. But it is so vulnerable to a wide variety of things :(.
Te Scepter is soooooo much fun to play with. "Counterspell on a stick" is so much fun. Casting those old split cards for two... also so much fun. The user AdGokou83 has a UG Return deck with sticks. It's brutal, especially for rogue modern.
PS: I really like your sig now.
Putting the sexy in Science Fiction!
Might as well be.
Most Deathblade decks are only running one of each, or 2 batterskull. running one of each prevents Meddling Mage and the like easier. With 4 Stone Forge, 3 Snapcaster, and all the control , why do you need more than 2 wincons?
The best!
Buy less, save more?
Well don't keep a Dimma waitin'!
That Should be a good match up. Let them reanimate the big nasties after a few Force of Will on reanimate spells, Swords the big guys that get in, no problem. Seems like bad play, or bad Shuffling. I can see match 1 going either way, but 2 and/or 3 should have been Blade over reanimator.
He looks like a douche, either way.
The Rock(Dwayne Johnson) needed no sidekick. He was the last good character on any wrestling show.
Try MWS or something, easy way to figure out what you want to play, then you can build much more pocketbook efficiently.
And loving!
Supposed to say "You are NOT allowed to NOT know that."
They are way dumber. Period. No one could ever be Jake The Snake Roberts!
?
I lose. And I didn't even look it up.
That is an acceptable response from someone who lives in Ohio and is smart.
Booty.
Yes! Congrats! My bad.
White borders, themselves, are ugly. White borders on artifacts are an abomination.
You, Raz, and me all three brother.
We meaning us two? The almost 30ers?
Yincess? "Lucy, you have some 'splainin' to do!"
You know we will miss our kids when they leave us.
THA POWAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I always wanted Castle Gray Skull or the Sword or something He-Man in a Magic Card. I like Legacy/ Vintage because I remember opening a lot of these cards in packs when I was young.
But, he's a shapeshifter.......
And we like to talk to you. [/QUOTE]
I considered working that in too, that or Sword of Feast and Famine, for it's untap ability. underrated Sword
Uh.........WE cause the insanity. Hellooooooo?!??!!!?????!?!?
Yeah, MTV is not OUR MTV. It's Clichéd, but for good reason. MTV used to stand for Music TeleVision.
Too much Equipment just clogs the deck up without enough targets. Or your single target gets swords after you attach an equipment. You need to hold counterspells, drop a Batterskull that resolves, and bounce it to protect it. The Jitte Gains life, Progs your wincon, and/or kills stuff. You don't really need the swords. Unless they untap for the countersoells you are holding.
Lolz
Saw it. Epic isn't the word. I don't think there is a word for that much kid love.
Nostalgia:thumbsup:, White Borders
Omfg, I want to learn how to read that, so I don't have to translate. Winter Orb on top.
No it's Not. I Saw them In this order: Winter Orb, Mana Vault, Ivory Tower, Idk, Blue Elemental Blast?, and idfk. I'm just proud that, as an artificer, I knew the artifacts. Just hate those white borders.
He's pooping out coolness. It's a requirement for modern day wrstleers.
Yeah, but Legacy is more rewarding. Both Personal, and when you win. Save is just that. Saving. For something better.
It's Isochron....And Cards like, Remand, Shadow of Doubt, and Telling Time Are more suited. Silence is amazing though!(of course!)
I knew that from the Lightening Bolt. It was either that or Spellweaver Helix, but it's an instant that tries to be as good as Ancestral Recall, so it was Isochron.
Counterspell is a good one too. I just like Remand because it draws you a card, and people won't even cast it after a remand if your Scepter isn't tapped.
I figured you might :tongue:.
I mean, I don't play the format anymore but I saw this match up twice so far and Deathblade lost both times :shrug:.
More like buy more, play more (and not get so bored).
I think one of the decks I watched sideboarded one of those.
I totally agree with white bordered cards being :thumbsdown:. But one card I think actually looks good white bordered, is Wrath of God.
The other two are Counterspell and Dark Ritual I think.
Epic promos. Okay wrestler :tongue:. He recently made an apprentice a few weeks ago actually.
If you like Jake, you'd like current wrestlers Bray Wyatt, and Dean Ambrose.
Oh, it for sure was.
I just didn't know. Seemed light though.
While I have lived in ohio for a while. I'm not from Ohio. But yea... brown is poop.
I think Raz is also up there with us.
It's Pittsburgh slang. Yinz= Y'all/You all, Yinzer(s)= Guy or Group of Guys from Pittsburgh area, Yincess= Daughter or Girlfriend of a Yinzer.
Example of Lower-middle class Pittsburgh miner slang. "Yinz caa-nut see my Yincess 'fer 'da Stillers game."
I plan on my children remaining Daddy's boys/girl. They will never leave me.
But really, when they do it will be a very bittersweet day. Happy they'd have grown up, unhappy they were leaving. Still, quite a many years before that happens.
Depends, would we normally employ those we've made insane? Plus if Mankind was a real character, I'm sure he would have been born insane. Being born insane seems more like Rakdos.
Speaking of RACKDOS! My gf is here so my posting may slow down a bit.
Also, I have an ass-mode edh deck where I win with Solemn Simalcrum beats while I scepter chant and/or "boomerang on a stick a Winter Orb with Kismet on their turn."
540 Peasant cube- Gold EditionSomething SpicyOutside of MWS, I don't either. I'm sure I could make a legitimate Budget Legacy deck just outta the stuff that I currently own. The Shrieking Rack Affliction comes to mind. But yeah, I've played Esper Reanimator and A couple Death-Blade/Stone-Blade decks, and the blade seems to work better than a big beater on it's own. Especially since yo uonly need one card to get rid of the threat.
Can't argue with that a whole lot. But, Buy less, win more can be a better scenario, imo.
Should have mained then.
Wrath is the only card, imo, that looks right with a white border.
Yeah, not happy I didn' know that, but satisfied I knew the artifacts. I <3 Tera's posts.
You mean Awesome Promos, Epic Dude!
I'll check them out, hope I'm not let down. You wil hear complaints....
You have to make sure to pull answers other decks have, without losing the GY. But Essentially, it's a typical 2 wincons in a control deck this way, with plenty of places to put them.
Yeah, thank Cleveland for that. To paraphrase "Cleveland plops, Cleveland plops!"
Where are you from originally?
In the Plenty-Over-29ers?
Let's hope for all yours and my kids. The world is already horrifying, it's only getting worse. Unfortunately, my kids seem to have incredibly independent spirits. I think I'm screwed and they're gonna leave me, all of 'em
Glad you can see the Sweetness in the end of the tunnel.
Ridiculo-nathed.
Oh, but behind the apparent insanity is a plotting and brilliant mind. I would think of all people, you would see the Dimir in him.
heh heh heh. RACK-dos.
Since Stone Blade makes better use of Stoneforge Mystic, I'd say Stone Blade. I don't think Deathrite Shaman really does a whole lot for the deck besides make another target to get Swords'd and I'm fully aware that I called my Stone Blade deck a Death Blade deck. I just feel like Jitte Brings the Death.
I'll agree he's pooping out something...
I can see the reward system in playing Modern. I think it's mainly an 'old' guy thing.
:shakesfist:
Chant is great, however, I was going on a Modern level with Scepter. But yeah, Orim's Chant is way better. I can argue that Wasteland and/or Disperse is better than Boomerang.
Rofl! That's just mean. I love it.
EDIT:
Okay on current research http://magic.tcgplayer.com/db/deck_search_result.asp?Location=2014%20StarCity%20Open%20Legacy%20-%20Columbus%20-%201/19
Reanimator is running a TON more answers than it used to. Still in 1st on top of the 6 Stone-Blade decks in Top 16, 5 of which begin Esper. Still, didn't see a Esper Stone-Blade deck running more that 1 Batterskull, 1 Jitte. Some ran SoFF, in the SB. Seemed like a good plan. And they're finally running Verdict, lmao.
I'll get you that Wrexial suicide mill EDH list eventually... =p Got hosed by Blood Moon in game 1. Then in the next game I successfully didn't die to a 29/29 Kresh with Surestrike Trident on it. But 3 people left on the board, had been completely milled and would lose at his draw step. I was at 15 life facing his 14 power of creatures on the board (one of each is Lyzolda, the Blood Witch). He can't kill me with Lyzolda because ALL his creatures are black (B or R) and he would lose by not drawing if he were to deal 2 damage to me. =p He swings at me making me mill with my own "mill 10" levithan I can't remember. I mill 10 and he sees my Consuming Abberation. He casts Rise from the Graves taking it, casts Essence Harvest to die all the damages to the 3rd player and he is left with 1 mana open unable to kill us both. =p He passes and I Windfall to kill him. Either do that or lose at his draw step. =p
Had fun and can't wait to play the deck some more.
The closes I am to building a Legacy deck is Mono Burn, and even then I don't have Price of Progress, Chain Lightning, or any of the older sweet spells.
Definitely. Generally speaking, anymore I don't buy Standard cards unless they will also be good in Modern (like the Shocklands) but really if I ever have a Standard deck, generally speaking I won the cards to build it.
Even years ago with Five Color control and that deck was by no means cheap.
I also like white bordered Unlimited/Revised Island's.
Indeed.
I wish Orim's Chant was in Modern, but I will settle for Silence :tongue:.
Can't be countered, can be pitched to Force of Will, takes care of all relevant Legacy creatures, gotta love it :thumbsup:. I can't believe the card is so cheap at the moment.
~~~
As for the Royal Rumble, it was really good and enjoyable but highly predictable.
Well, that is an acceptable scenario.
You got Ball Lightening and/or Blistering Firecats?
Chain Lightening can get expensive, I'm sure you can find a cheap deal at or around $10 for a playset of Price.
Or Mutavault. you can still do the same with Legacy. Just need more patience.........I wish I had patience when I started playing.
There'sstill a T2 5CC deck running around, I doubt it's cheap. Maze's End.
I'm sure there may be exceptions to that rule.
It sure beats having neither. Having Snapcaster, Render Silent, Warleader's Helix, and Silence in T2 with Elite Arcanist for a minute, that was pretty fun until THS dropped.
Can't be countered, can be pitched to Force of Will, takes care of all relevant Legacy creatures, gotta love it :thumbsup:. I can't believe the card is so cheap at the moment.

Orim's Chant, for the SHUTDOWN of most non control based decks. Lol. Fun stuff.
Research // Development is also among my favorite things to put on a stick.
@Anyone, but mainly Teraparsec, how do the new split cards function with Isochron Scepter? The same way as the old ones? Would casting both be an option at the additional cost of the one not being played from the imprint? Please someone, tell me how the new split cards act with the stick.
That.... is beautiful.
: digi wipes a single, fat tear from his face :
Spend less, win more would be the optimal scenario, imo. But that is typically not the case. Typically.
Some cards look okay, Wrath is one.
I see. I am only familiar with Stone Blade by matchup and generic build, and have only ever faced Death Blade once. I know I have all the stuff for Esper Stone blade, I just haven't had the energy to actually build and test it yet. It is on my to do list though.
Where do I get MWS? I used to have it but lost in in computer switching now I can't seem to find a legit copy...
It's not Cleveland's fault the Browns are horrible, lol. I am from a suburb of Pittsburgh. Latrobe, Pennsylvania. There are golf courses a lame college were the Stillers practice, and an old brewery.
I don't know if I should divulge his actual age, but yea... he is an old fogey too.
What is some Michigan and Florida slang? Suprisingly, Ohio is the only place I've ever lived in without much region specific slang used.
As long as we have strong bonds to our children, they will never leave us. Even if they live 1000 miles away:)
It'll be sad, for sure, even though as good parents our goal is to have our children grow up to be prosperous, good-minded people in the world. And just because that goal is met, doesn't mean we stop being good parents. We get to do that until the day we pass, and maybe even beyond. We never stop that:) Plus when I become an old man, grandchildren will be loads of fun.
Vindanathed.
Lol.
Hmmmmm. I would see that if I didn't think the character Mankind was just insane. He was often fooled because people took advantage of this. At least, if my memory serves me correctly. The Undertaker of the same era would be more Dimir. Maybe even MacMahan if his plans didn't usually backfire.
@Ayu and/or Raz, (Raz is also a huge wrestling fan, as anyone looked into his FB could see), most Dimir-y wrestler of all time?
I actually explained that to her and she not only laughed but got it right away. Though I think she now knows we were all talking about her boobs.

In other GF news...
Remember that first year out of high school when you were on winter break from college, or when you were kicking it around your home town for whatever reason and you noticed that the local schools you had previously attended were closed becaue of the winter weather? Remember that crushing feeling you had when you realized you'd never get another real, responsibility free snow day? Well, I have some great news: Snow days are still a lot of fun if you're an adult. When your GF is a grade school teacher.
Mmmmhmmmmmm. I have been waking up neglecting NFL AM until after I have read all the closings at the bottom screen of my local NBC affiliate's programming. Snow days are that much fun for me.
You should call it "Stone Sai.".
I love modern. But nothing tops the powah of Legacy and further, Vintage. No one wants to play Vintage anymore. And people who do think it's okay to play my deck with proxies. :shrugs: I'm not really down with that. It took a lot of time, money and effort to get my baby where she needs to be. I don't like even thinking about considering to losing against decks with pieces of scribbled on paper in front of mountains, (or whatever). So sadly, for the most part my re-re-rebuild Tezzerator just sits around and looks sexy until I'm at the shop and someone is aggravating me, running their mouth about being the best in their little "causal" playgroup.

Especially against aggro. Then, getting to beat someone to death with Data? I'll have what he's having.
SLEEP IS FOR THE WEAK.
I'm sure some lucky employer will grab you up soon.
How's moving working out?
I hate Blood Moon in Commander. It is the bane of my existence if it somehow sticks. At least you got to kill him in game two. With a Windfall to boot. What else was at the table letting someone playing Kresh have a blood moon stick, (aassuming it was the same guy using lots of basics or sources)?
@Macius, I wouldn't be relying on anything from a stick vs hardcore control. Even Orim's Chant. I'd be worried about getting my sticks countered. What do you do to shutdown control?
Ameri-Manlands is a fun legacy deck I bet you could build with stuff you have. It's rogueish and can win face, especially in meta's lacking a lot of Wasteland/Tech Edge land hate. js...
I know this isn't a spell that's stick bearable, but I love Render Silent. So awesome.
I think that is why I ultimately stopped watching wrestling.
One of my greatest magic qualities is that I'm very patient when it comes to trading and especially, "trading in".
Render Silent:) That was fun a fun time in standard, a few months back.

I'd probably play neither honestly. Near pure spells.
I want those, but noooo way am I paying their price tags. I will wait until it exits Standard and drops like a rock.
Me too, I used to have a lot of the good cards being played now :(.
It's actually really cheap to build lol. Probably could be done under $50.
Formats change, some cards come to the front, some are pushed back. Happens all the time with formats.
Fuse is from the hand, so I'd assume you cannot do both when on Scepter. But I am no rules expert :tongue:.
Indiana is much the same :tongue:.
Triple H, hands down. They do call him the cerebral assassin.
No one wants to pay the prices of Vintage, I am sure people want to play it (I know I do) but it's too expensive. And Legacy is heading that way too slowly for a lot of people. It's ashame really as Legacy looks like a lot of fun to play right now.
Kinda laughed at this. In the end it's all pieces of paper/cardboard scribbled/printed on.
I mean, I don't like it either :tongue:. But that's why I only play with cards I actually own and I loathe to borrow ever. So I understand the feeling but still giggled :p.
-edit-
Whats Amer-Lands? Do you have a list Digi?
Find it out here.
Also, the card I like best on a stick is Abeyance. Few people immediately realize it shuts down planeswalkers.
As for multicoloured Standard control decks: I normally don't do Standard, but I recently saw a nice 4CC build, which used plenty of scrylands to fix mana and draws, Caryatid for ramp, Jace and Sphinx's Rev for more cards, D-Spheres and Verdicts to clear the table of threats, Selesniya Charms for general trolling ('exile your Erebos'), and Assemble the Legion plus Elspeth for winning. Looked very sweet (and durdly) and somehow makes me want to play it.
With that price tag, I might want to trade away those Mutavaults. If I really need a man-land, I can still fall back on the Assembly Worker, which is way less expensive, comes with the (the nostalgy!) old card frame, and has quite a reputation in our EDH group.

With the new ones, fuse says only from your hand. =p
Ya. It's just busy this week. Yesterday, I watched all of AoT (attack on titan) for the second time subbed, this time on Netflix. It's still as nuts as I remember. Then I decided to read the manga chapters up until the latest release (in which season 1 of the anime only covers the 1st 34 out of 53 manga chapters) and my head is exploding from all the nonsense that the author had made. And then I realized it was 10pm and I need to get my stuff together for career fairs (change of clothes, etc) and get my plan of attack for the next 2 days.
Also was thinking of how to transport my cards (everything I own) to my folks place in chunks instead of breaking my back and taking all the cards home at the same time. But I stopped and looked at my card collection and wondered if I needed ALL that cardboard... =p I'll be going through and taking what I wanna keep and dumping the rest. Need to cut the cord!
Moving out will be this Saturday. Met with my friends and they are traveling up the night before and we'll putz for the evening. Grab the UHaul in the morning and then move Saturday morning. I'm completely downplaying how much stuff I have (no furniture beside an Ikea bed frame, desk, and dresser). But I just need to take the time and pack my clothes and make things in stacks so I can easily move things to the truck or into one of our cars. Working today, but taking the rest of the week off to do the fairs, interviews, or pack.
Two seperate games. Numot played the Blood Moon in game 1 with a Jarad, Silver Queen, and Wrexial (me). SQ was hosed and did nothing. I had 2 Islands and nonbasics and had to tutor for a swamp, but Numot hit SQ and his triggers hit my basic swamps....sooooo THAT was fun. >_>
Game 2, going clockwise, was me (wrex), Kresh, Glissa, 'dumb Cleric Legend from Legends', and Mayael. Two of my non-magic friends showed up, but my pal (playing Kresh) and I wanted to get in 1 more game (we had played with Patron of the Orochi and Marath and THAT game lasted 2+ hrs). So I shuffled up Wrexial again and saw Mesmeric Orb in my starting hand. So I kept in the hopes of making things quick. =) Kresh hit mayael for general damage and he died. I Pongnify'd Glissa to slow him down and Glissa got Trident'd. =p That's where my previous story takes over.
