BBBMembership Guidelines and Group ReponsibilitesBBB
Section 1: Membership
To become a member, you are required to submit a mono black deck list. This list can be of any format but it is to be a serious deck. (I.e. It has to be functional. I do not wish to see decks that are just black cards and Swamps mashed together, as these are a disgrace to the name [Clan Mono-Black]. Any format is welcome: Standard, Legacy, EDH, or even a casual deck built with no format in mind! There will always be someone here to be able to give good feedback.
Section 2: Rising Through the Ranks
The Evincar is the leader of the clan and is voted in by all members of the Disciple, Praetor, Scion, and Evincar class. He is in charge of ruling the clan, memberships, conduct, and keeping the first post up to date. The Evincar also appoints a Scion, who will be his second in command. Between the two, one must be the clan representative. The Evincar and the Scions elect Praetors, which is a user group exclusively for elite and elder members. It is designed for members who will stand up for the clan should the Evincar and Scion become inactive or neglect their duties. Disciples are members. To become a member, one must first start off as a Minion. Minions are required to submit a Mono-Black decklist (see Section 1). Once a Minion fulfills his or her decklist requirement, they are required to stay around and post for a minimum of 50 posts in a relatively reasonable time. Then they are added to the Disciple category, where they can specialize and choose what they like most from black mana as their title.
If you are a Disciple and you manage to become inactive for an extended, unexcused period of time and you get moved to the Thrull category, your title is forfeit and it becomes up for grabs. Should you return and become active again, your title will not be waiting for you if someone else took it. You will be forced to create a new one. As a general rule of thumb, if you were not posting in the last thread, or posted very little, you will be bumped down one rank. This will continue until you are added to The Corrupt user group.
Section 3: Friendship Policy
If you wish to become a friend of [Clan Mono-Black], you are only required to post. You are welcome to explain why you wish to be a friend (for example, if you are from an allied clan or if you just like black mana as a secondary color, or if your just friends with clan members here!). If you wish to to become a member after you are a friend. You will still have to follow new membership guidelines by submitting a blacklist. However, if you have already reached the magic number of 50 posts as a friend, you will automatically become a Disciple! If you were inactive or inconsistently active, you will still be required to submit 50 posts in a relatively timely manner.
Section 4: Resignations
For those members who wish to step down from the clan for whatever reason, you are to simply state it in a post. You will then be added to our friends list. Should you chose to return as a Disciple, simply state so and the members of the clan will decide whether or not to readmit you. No hard feelings shall be held against those who peacefully leave. However, should one leave on bad terms, the user might be added to the Black List.
Section 5: Conduct
While a member, you will be expected to follow all rules of the forums. This means no advertising, no hotlinking , no spamming, no flaming, and general manners are to be used. We will also expect card tags and deck tags when you post decks. We also would like you to post in a semi-professional manner. Pretty much just follow MTGSalvation Guidelines. You are also expected to have fun around here! In addition to following the basic MTG Salvation Guidelines, I expect all members to post with thought, substance, and purpose.
Section 6: Exile
Should you misbehave inappropriately or disobey the forum rules, you will be asked to stop posting in this clan and will be added to the Black List.

New thread, I like the title. Also, you should check the thread for mistakes, I found a few with just a quick glance. You misspelled black in first section line two, and surely fourth section line two.
Also, what about the art? If we cannot decide on a card art, I can always make a mash-up from Theros cards.

Yeah there is no art. I couldnt find a big picture for Phikara's Curse, so I figured we could pick something else or do the mash up. Maybe toss in Ashiok and some of the other Zombies, because I love those arts.
Also, somewhere along the lines, we lost the bios, so we can revamp that and do those again if we want to.
Our world- The mono-black abyss no other colors but black exist there. The dominant race are demons and zombies, all spells involve either the word, discard, destroy or sacrafice in them. Best block ever
I can write a planeswalker's guide. I already have a pretty good idea on a plane name: Atermunos. (it is a wordplay on dark world, I think it sounds awesome personally)
When I have written the introduction, I will post it and you can decide the fate of my realm.
This is what I have so far:
A Planeswalker's Guide to Atermunos
Introduction:
When first arriving on Atermunos, one will notice that there is no sun. The plane is heated by the seismic activity of the underground and light is almost non-existant.
Yet in these hard conditions life is still present, however be careful when walking around, since predators lurk in the dark. The absense of light has made it so almost no living creature has eyes, so their other senses are sharpened to the extreme and even the smallest noise can lead to a premature end. The hostility of the wildlife has lead the plane to have no non-predatory animals, and the only organized inhabitants would be the angelic tribes in the sky, the demons of the deep and a tribe of fishlike creatures known as scaroths who prowls the few watery areas.
This is the home of darkness an endless abyss with no law or order, except for a few places in the sky where the angels roam. Though, the darkness has corrupted their sense of of judgment and they are on an endless crusade to purge all living and undead in the realm. A local saying goes: A flapping of wings brings an end to things.
Of course the introduction is far from finished, but see it as an appetizer.
Second off, I do believe doing the classic mono-black void is too cliche and way too narrow. Also, its too reminiscent of Phyrexia. This contest isn't about creating a world in which we would live, but is instead designed to be an overall great world. To do that, I don't feel like focusing on black is the best option, but to give each color a fair representation and to not over-cater to black. That said, we can still make our color the most awesome!
That said, I propose this. Its an idea I have been working on for a custom set, so I might toss in some mechanics and stuff like that, but we can separate all the mechanics later.
Premise: This is based off my desire to see a ton of world cultures represented as magic sets, especially recently with the addition (Finally) of greek-mythology inspired themes in Theros.
I felt that a good world could be created from the Native American culture, specifically the notion of spirit animals. The set would have an enchantment theme. Totem armor would make an appearance.
Name: Elohi, Realm of Spirits
The basic design would focus on various tribes, each focusing their culture and religion on a specific naturally occurring phenomenon that acts as a locus of mana, such as the black-based tribe's locus of mana is focused on a deep-welled cave and the red-based tribe is focused on a great volcano. Each of the locus has a "legendary spirit guardian".
Plot-wise, a folk tale would tell of how one of the guardian spirits did something to another. To reflect the culture, it could be something simple like lying or cheating at a game, or stealing, but it teaches a valuable lesson. This folk tale would explain how one particular locus is weaker than the others and how one is greater than the rest.
This part here wasn't planned. I'm just going on the spur of the moment here. Plot wise, our young hero could make a journey to each locus and gain a totem marking, like a tattoo, and to restore balance to the the five locus and to stop the true villain behind the locus imbalance, he would have to receive five totems, the Eagle (White), the Shark (Blue), the Raven (Black), the Boar (Red), and the Wolf (Green).
Just an idea there. I am working on it a s a custom set, so what do you guys think?
@Sir Auron25, reminds me a bit of kamigawa to be honest (the gods (kami) of kamigawa reminds me a lot of your idea with guardian spirits), but the recognition might be a good thing, story-wise kamigawa had konda as a major super-villain, a good choice for villain on your plane could be Meshuvel who has been constantly sucking power from the locusts unaware that urza is no more, which has ended up causing an imbalance.
Also, while my plane is dark and unwelcoming so is Innistrad. It is a plane where life evolved with without a sun, so there is still things not black. Green gets mighty predators, red would probably mostly be golemancers, golems and devils, blue gets some fishlike creatures. White gets insane angels on a crusade, black gets demons/devils. It is not a special black realm, just one without light. I still need a plotline though. I had considered using Leshrac, the Nightwalker as a main character, having somehow barely survived closing the rift due to the power of the mask of night's reach and now in possession of the real mask planning his revenge on Nicol Bolas.

I have been writing more of the introduction and I thought it would be a good idea to see if you have any input to add for further understanding of the plane. I still have a bit more I might to add, but since multiple brains think better than one (which is why humans got two I guess), I found it appropriate to ask for ideas. Also, I do not believe I have used any clichés, but if I have used any and you deem them inappropriate for this contest, I can try to rethink another wording and/or solution.
This is a world endless darkness with no law or order, except for a few places in the sky where the angels roam. Though, the darkness has corrupted their sense of of judgment and they are on an endless crusade to purge all living and undead in the realm. A local saying goes: A flapping of wings brings an end to things.
Deep in the underground, home of the Geshk geomancers have devoted themselves to keep the world running, protected by massive golems and fiery elementals, these geomancers spend their lives controlling the seismic activity of the planet. You do not have to go far away from the chambers of the Geshk to find the demonic tribes. Performing sacrificial rites, capturing, enslaving and feasting on hapless creatures, these demons seek to dominate the world. Aided by their shades, which roam freely in the darkness, you never know when the demon strikes.
Despite the power of wildlife, no life without water, and drinking water is a dangerous task. The scaroths occupy the waters, the best can even feel slight disturbances from miles away and the scarots usually trap the ponds, so getting away is an immensely difficult task as well.
In the late years the darkness has extended its reach, it is not the demons who has begun taking over. A foreign power has appeared and has twisted the fragile power balance. When it first arrived it was so weak that nobody noticed it, as it grew more powerful, residents of the realm could sometimes hear whispers woth promise of power in exchange for eternal servitude. The ones who take the offer give up their lifeforce and serves as powerful undead protectors of Nightwalker's domain. Guarded by the undead protectors the Nightwalker's power has reached unparalled powers in the plane and has set his machinations in motion and begun taking over the plane.
Places of Interrest on Atermunos:
Skyhenge:
Skyhenge is an oddity on Atermunos, located in the sky where the air is so cold that even a fire elemental would be freeze to the core, the largest angelic tribe resides. It is also one of the few places where there is light as the angels emit it. There is hardly any angels there except for the guards and the holy council as the angels spend all their time culling the life and unlife of the plane in the name of their master: Moriath. In Skyhenge there is only one place guarded better than the holy council. That place is the lifeforge, where souls of angels fallen in combat returns to and reincarnates.
The Preying Grounds:
Atermunos largest inhabitated surface area is known as The Preying Grounds. Located on top of a very large seismic active area, there is some sort of vegetation and the place houses the strongest and meanest predators of Atermunos. Even the angels never approach this place, unless their numbers are significant, but even then the casualities would be immense. It is rumored that there exists a predator who has lived on the plane since its creation, however noone has ever seen it and lived to tell the tale, so it is only speculation. It is the place where the mightiest predators of other places go to by need, when they have run out of prey where they come from and most of them are nothing compared to the average inhabitant of The Preying Grounds. So proceed with caution.
The Underground:
The set of tunnels and chambers in Atermunos is simply known as The Underground. In The Undergound you will find the Geshk and the demons. The top layers of the tunnels and chambers are usually housed by the Geshk. However, if you go further down the demons infest the tunnels and chambers. It has not always been like that, but since the Nightwalker's appearence the demons have been force out of the Heart of Darkness, which is a stronghold deepest down in the underground. The demons appearence in the tunnels have made the Geshk start using their golems again, which had been standing as motionless guardsmen for centuries.
Heart of Darkness:
Located deep in the underground, the Heart of Darkness is a stronghold carved out directly from the stone and decorated with bones of countless dead. Formerly the fortress of the demons, this place now serve as residence for the Nightwalker. The corridors are filled with undead abominiations and only the cruel art, decorations and sacrificial chambers reminds of the fact that there was once demonic overlords who ruled this place. The fortress itself have an impregnable defense, which is why nobody ever believed it would fall. The only entrace is known as the skeleton gate, not because of who guards it or what it is made from, but because of the huge pile of skeletons lying around outside it from the enemies who tried to break through it.
The Fever Sea:
Drinking water from The Fever Sea is not for the faint of heart or people with a weak stomache. It has gotten its name from the many bodies floating around in the water, the prey of the Scaroths. Somewhere in the deep underwater caverns the Scaroths live. The Scaroths however, is not the only ones who swim the sea, krakens and leviathans are common sightings as well and just like the rest of Atermunos, only the strongest of them survives. The waterbanks and sea are filled with clever traps engineered by the Scaroths to catch unaware prey or weaken the mighty predators so they become killable.
The Nightwalker's Influence:
Since the Nightwalker arrived the power balance has tilted. Necromancy was not an art practiced by any beings on Atermunos and the power to reanimate the mighty predators has destroyed the fickle power balance of the hunters and the hunted. It is said that the Nightwalker wants to absorb the lifeforce of all the beings on Atermunos to gain power to have his revenge on a being so powerful that almost destroyed him some time ago. His promises of power have lead many to follow him, he is even said to have a network of prominent figures in the different tribes who informs him about the progress of the plane and subdues creatures for him to feast on. They are the most powerful of his followers, who retained their life and free will, and willingly serve the Nightwalker in their lust for power.
The recent occurence of unlife on the plane has also made the angel Moriath intensify the purging of the plane and ordered the angels to mutilate every enemy they face to prevent them from rising again. Though, even the angels are infested by spies of the Nightwalker and the increased purges might even be a part of his plan, since it is impossible to say how far his reach really has gone.

And yes, it wins by the opponent drawing himself (or herself) out before you do. Obliterators are in sideboard for when they have removed their removal. Ghost Quarter and Smallpox are weapons against tron.
I have not been able to test it that much against the meta, but I think it will be great for going rogue on Friday.

I didn't face tron, I went 3-2. However versus UW tron, they rarely see Sadistic Sacrament coming G1 if I draw it and play it T3, it can solve a lot of problems vs Eldrazi. However if they get them into play then I am done for it. Ensnaring Bridge is also huge in that match-up if I can get it to stick, eldrazi's will not attack me in the near future (the key is holding onto the bridges until they play their threats so Ulamog doesn't destroy it). Also since their counterspell of choice is remand, it doesn't really deal with bridge that well.
I won vs jund (1-0-2), Esper control (2-0) and Dredgevine (2-0, MD graveyard hate in a large number is not really their cup of tea I guess). Got my rear end handed to me by Affinity (0-2) and fish (0-2, the counters + huge creatures and the elusive mutavault is not the best match-up) though.

Funny enough, when I realized you replied, I remembered Sadistic Sacrement from your list.
Speaking of results, what do we all think of Mono Black Devotion winning the GP? Its nice to see a Mono Black list winning again. I've been thinking about building a similar thing myself.

Yea, I haven't seen a Mono Black list like that since Torment. It's amazing what black can do when wotc shifts the meta towards mono-color. All hail the power of the skull! :grovel::grovel::grovel::grovel::grovel::grovel:
While I am not interrested in Standard, I do think the list looks rather nice and I secretly hope that mono-black will be the deck to beat for the next couple of years.

Is it just my computer though, or is there no image in the first post?
Also, what about the art? If we cannot decide on a card art, I can always make a mash-up from Theros cards.

Yeah there is no art. I couldnt find a big picture for Phikara's Curse, so I figured we could pick something else or do the mash up. Maybe toss in Ashiok and some of the other Zombies, because I love those arts.
Also, somewhere along the lines, we lost the bios, so we can revamp that and do those again if we want to.

This one looks pretty interesting.

Seconded. It sounds better than
Although I agree with SA, we could do the sunless world without the cliche of an "abyss."
But cliches make everything better

I have not been able to test it that much against the meta, but I think it will be great for going rogue on Friday.

I'm guessing G1 vs UW Tron with Eldrazi tends to be a nightmare?
