@redthirst: I feel that the clan needs a relaxed place to blow off steam. If we can agree with the mods on what that means, then I would personally prefer to stay here. That would mean backing down on the rivaltuna issue, an action which is not preferable because I feel that we are in the right; however, as the phrase goes, "Choose your battles."
I think we should simply take the discussion which the mod's feel are inappropriate to our second home. That begs the question, "Why not just move the clan over there?"
In response to that question, we are more likely to gain contributors by being here. This site is big, and unless we want to take on the responsibility of starting our own thing (a massive undertaking), then we should stay here.
On condition of our new adherence to the rules, I would like to petition that zemanjaski have his suspension revoked. He is one of the greatest contributors to the R/x thread, and he has been key in developing that archetype as well as forming this clan. His advice is invaluable. Given that, if we stay, we will have an updated understanding with the mods, I think that his suspension should be revoked.
, but bringing anything like that into clans is not tolerated and I want to be sure that everyone understands that.
Could we please get clarification on what "anything like that" means? I'm not trying to be sarcastic, I just legitimately want to know what the issue here is.
I think we should simply take the discussion which the mod's feel are inappropriate to our second home. That begs the question, "Why not just move the clan over there?"
If we choose to move then we can decide where at that point.
Personally, if the move is to our clan site, then I wouldn't be posting as much because I couldn't do so from work. Also, for the main thread, I prefer to be a part of a larger community instead of the entire community. That makes things easier from an administrative point as well as giving us a source for new membership.
Basically, at this point, I think our own forum is a nice "2nd home" but that our community is too small to need or effectively "fill out" a whole forum.
In response to that question, we are more likely to gain contributors by being here. This site is big, and unless we want to take on the responsibility of starting our own thing (a massive undertaking), then we should stay here.
This is a good point, the clan will most likely not grow as fast as it has in the past without a very large community to pull from, but no one is saying that we can't still post on MTGS forums with a FoS link in our sig (which, I imagine, is how most people find this place) - the only difference would be where the sig linked to.

Degenerate? Sure. Loudmouth? You bet. Law abiding? No ****ing way.
I was just pointing out that fostering our own community would be a huge undertaking, and I don't think that's something we want to do. Also, people are more likely to become members on here than on a second site.
I think you and I are on the same page, the summary being "stay here."

I agree that we need to be a part of a larger community. How else are we going to find fuel for our Fire?
And yes we are pilgrims. We are the fastest growing, the largest, most aggressive, and badass Clan on this site. We're all also very goodlooking. We set trends, dammit!
I think you and I are on the same page, the summary being "stay here."
Then we are not only on different pages but in different books.
My feelings are that this clan, as a whole, is a square peg and MTGS is a round hole - now, the hole isn't going to change its shape any time soon so we can either change ourselves or find another hole.
My opinion is that we shouldn't have to change who we are to fit in here if we could simply go somewhere that we already fit in.
That being said, I will respect whatever the consensus of the whole clan is.

No one in here was battling anyone.
All I see is heavy handed moderation, one guy coming to his relaxed place to vent about it, and his friends backing him up with logical arguments in the CI part of the forum.
If clans aren't a place where like minded dudes can hang out and speak their minds, then what's the point?
I know I'm not an actual FoS member or anything, but it looks like you guys don't belong here. You want a place where you can say whatever comes to mind and ***** about the stupid people in the Standard forum. The best place for that is your off-site forum, because doing that here is just going to get you all infracted and banned.
Personally, the entire debacle has left a horrid taste in my mouth. I'm looking for a new MtG community to join, because this one is really bothering me.

Ok, thanks for clarifying. I'm doing 11 different things at once, having a hard time keeping up. It seems to me that the primary issues (The "corners" of our square peg, if you will):
1. We don't like people bull****ting in the forums, especially the "competitive" ones. Rivaltuna being a prime example.
2. When people do so, we like to call them out on it. Without pulling any punches. More generally, we like to say whatever the **** we want.

Hey guys,
I'm contacting you because I'm seeing a huge problem with your clan. In the last few days you've been dogpiling on a user, now you're posting negatively and going after mods. This has to stop. Clans is a relaxed place and we don't want battles in there (especially external battles). Right now, we are considering closing the clan down for a while(kind of like a clan Suspension), but I decided it was best to talk to you before acting.
We never closed down a clan in this way, but we're willing to do it if your attitude doesn't change. What happens in other parts of the site is a seperate matter that I'm not here do discuss right now, but bringing anything like that into clans is not tolerated and I want to be sure that everyone undestands that.
What are you actually trying to accomplish & want to be able to do with your clan?
Do you see yourselves being able to conform with the clan rules?
I also would like clarification of the rules of conduct as they pertain to the clan areas of the forum.
Am I correct in thinking that your comment about "bringing anything like that" in to the clan discussion area concerns comments directed at users who are not members of this clan? I understand that personally attacking users is not allowed, but what about discussion related to that user's conduct/comments in other areas of the website? I feel that this "gray area" has been the cause of much of the contention between our clan members and the moderators of this site.
As for what we hope to accomplish with our clan, I believe that I can reasonably say that we want a place where we can form bonds with like-minded people. I have found friendship, support, and indeed a kinship with the people here. If you look back across the clan discussion, then you'll see a majority of the messages here are one of support.
Sure, we can be contentious, we can be rowdy, but we can also be valuable contributors to this site. Zemanjaski and Redthirst, for example, have provided excellent advice to many people on this forum. Do you want to drive them away? This site would be lessened by their absences.

That's my point. This is a place to laugh, to be foolish. We don't want anything too serious here. Maybe it would have been a better joke if I had wrote "one word" instead of "2 words"
See, this is where I think we disagree. We, as a clan, want a place where we can talk about whatever we want. If you've gone through the thread, I think you'll find that this is a place where we help each other, show support, make dick jokes, refuse to masturbate, talk about nice-lookin ladies, and more importantly vent. Sometimes that venting needs to be about other members who bull****. We want the serious and the fun. We want it all.

All I see is heavy handed moderation, one guy coming to his relaxed place to vent about it, and his friends backing him up with logical arguments in the CI part of the forum.
Personally, the entire debacle has left a horrid taste in my mouth. I'm looking for a new MtG community to join, because this one is really bothering me.
Cut some out for brevity's sake, but otherwise...this.
Frankly, as far as I'm concerned, I'm done. Not with FoS, by any means, and I'll still be on our own forums constantly, but with this site. I have to add in the caveat that I MAY someday rethink this, but it's not likely. I'm not rage quitting or anything, I'm sitting in the library reading my Econometrics textbook, and decided to see what the newest scoop was with everything, and I'm frankly disgusted to see how the administration and moderation teams act around here.
To be blunt, the vocal portion of the staff here (I honestly can't even say the majority, cause there's really no way to know...it's just the most obnoxiously visible ones) are nightmares who have no business being in charge of their own bowel movements, let alone what other people say/do/(and most importantly) think.
I've just let it roll over me for a long, long time, but I've been interested in finding a new community for awhile. I found you guys, and that kept me here when I was ready to flat out bail. When I made full member status, I was thrilled, because it meant if I couldn't handle it here anymore, I wouldn't lose you. Then for the longest time, we didn't have application approvals on the site...so I stuck it out. Well, now I'm approved, so I'm all set.
To my FoS brothers...sorry I won't be HERE to help you fight the good fight, but I'll be happy to bolster you with words of support on our forums, or wherever we may land, if a migration decision is made. And just so everyone reading this knows this isn't empty words...I'll just tell you this. If you every REALLY need backup, let me know, and I'll sign in, and come in swinging. I don't care anymore, they can pass out their little pathetic internet punishments, and infract me, and ban me, and sneer, and do all their little ivory tower BS...but guess what? Ain't skeered. If I need to keep up the fight, and I've been banned, I'll just create a new account. Hopefully, it'll never come to that, and I can just be done with this trainwreck of a site. Finally, sorry for any problems this post may cause, but...with a bang, right?
To the staff (Pretty sure at least SOME of you will read this.) I'm sure some of you are cool. Those of you who are, post more. Push against the thought police that are so dominant and prevalent here. To the staff who isn't so cool...you guys need to take a step back and reexamine yourselves. Your behavior is incredibly hypocritical. My quote from Animal Farm earlier, while trite and cliche, is totally accurate. It's ok for YOU to flame, and sneer, and snipe, and assume, and it's ok for anyone you approve of, but if you aren't a mod's junk-hanger, then you'll get naughty boy points.
Seriously? You think you aren't going to breed a culture of resentment and revolt with that kind of crap? That sort of thing is poison, and there are several of you who are the most poisonous of them all. I'll just name a couple of names, as long as I'm already in this far. First and foremost, Teia. The fact that this dude ever was in consideration for midship is ridiculous. He is absolutely the definition of poison. Funniest thing? If you look at my history, you'll see no conflict between us. In fact, I've only been carded ONCE in my time here, for making a dumb joke (that's a REALLY stupid rule, btw.) But I've watched his behavior, and he's an absolute horror of a human being, and I know I'm not the only one, nor are the members of the clan who feel the same (not trying to speak for everyone, just acknowledging that some of you may/probably feel the same.) Judging by his posts, he is an absolutely horrific human being in general, unless he's entirely different in person than he is on here. You admins should not only strip him of power, but ban the ever loving **** out of him. The fact that you haven't done so thus far really suggests the presence of extra chromosomes in your genetic makeup. (Pssss...that's a cute way of my calling you *******.)
Parinoid also seems extra douchey. He's got the the holier than thou thing going on, and definately ranks high on the hypocrisy scale. I was revolted by his behavior in the admin thread. I know they say Magic players are socially awkward, but you gomers seem to take it to a whole new level. Are you just trying to flex here because you're insignificant everywhere else? Grow the **** up.
Y'know, I planned on saying more, but I'm getting bored. You staff know that this site is largely a joke in the MTG community. You're doing your level best to drive away the few good posters here (Note, I'm not saying that they're all in this clan/will be affected by this, and I'm not even placing myself in the "good poster" category...but you WILL lose some of the better ones) in the name of your pathetic little power trips. I'll just say this...I KNOW I'm getting at least one infraction for this, and I'm sure you're going to be tempted to delete/sanitize/sterilize my post. Don't. I'm vindictive enough to check up on it randomly until I get bored of it and forget. I ALSO have it copied and saved...and should it get messed with, it WILL propagate. Yes, your army of mods can probably keep getting rid of it as fast as I can post it, but at least I'll be a nuisance until I get bored of it, and some people WILL see it, as much as you try to 1984 things (Man, this place DOES inspire Orwellian thoughts, doesn't it?)

Dane out, ****ers.
Infraction for flaming. -KoolKoal

Funny thing, I got that feeling as well.
PM'd you.
