Opinions ~ I am thinking of doing a 'lessons learned from this season' article, talking about what I have learned about evaluating cards, building decks, sequencing plays and other stuff. What do you think? I think it would be nice to commemorate how far we have come this season (remember when we didn't have our own forum?).

Thanks, Z!
And I think you should really do that for your next article. I don't think there is a single person in our Clan or Developed Forum that hasn't become a better player thanks to the combined effort of the Red Mages this season. I'm surprised at myself of how much I've learned.
had a rough FNM, nothing interesting happened so i'm not gonna write a full tourney report, mostly venting
played against a BG zombies at FNM the other night and he double rancored a lotleth troll and i ran outta burn... (used my last pillar of flame on his double rancored geralf's messenger)
Also lost a mirror where i played perfectly deflecting his threats and whittling him down to 2...then he topdecks thundermaw and wins. Now i know how it feels...
The one good thing was stomping this ****ing awful bant control player that used swagtusk/resto whore as a crutch to win game one, but destroyed him games two and three. He wrath'd a board of pyreheart wolf and hound of griselbrand at 10 life, and i had a hellion crucible with 2 counters on it lmao.
Because playing control is for smart players man. We wouldn't understand.
He had the nerve to complain about how i stole game three with zealous conscripts (unknowingly) to my girlfriend that he played next round AND tried lecturing her on proper play (she's new and was using a 30 dollar budget deck).
Lets just say it's a good thing i can't cast lightning bolt IRL
Man, i had a great weekend of magic. On FNM i finished 4-1 for 3rd, which was neat. And then Yesterday i only finished 2-2, but in my packs i pulled a Hallowed Fountain and a Sphinx's Revalation! Yeah!

During one of my matches in the DE this weekend, my Esper opponent called me a dumb neckbeard and lucky, despite my having 10 land in play on turn 11 Still beat him down.

I hate those people. I was grinding the heck out of esper superfriends, and won by topdecking a bonfire for the win the turn before he would of killed me. He called me a lucky scrub to my face... Damn, i wanted to punch his lights out. (I have some anger problems....) But you just gotta ignore them.

Don't forget the guy playing Ajani and Call of the Conclave. It won States though.
So I'll either be waking up to a whole set of new cards or my insomnias will make me get to see it "live". Shame the Bulls don't play tonight! Really curious to see if we'll get better burn.
Yeah, the guy lecturing me on his GW aggro deck featuring Ajani, Call of the Conclave and sideboarded Fog was pretty hilarious. What was that? Two very one-sided games? I think it was. That was almost embarassing, like fighting with a child, you're winning, but you can't look good doing it.
re: Khaospawn, I think a neckbeard is a reference to a middleaged to older player with poor personal hygene and disposition, the 'neckbeard' being a reference to their unkept facial hair I guess? I think he was trying to call me dumb, which was ironic because he got crushed.

You've got the right idea, though not necessarily middle aged.
Round 3: 0-2 vs. Esper Control - rolled by his god hands.
With a 1-2 record I don't even think I can make top 8.

That's right, prerelease is next weekend.
I'd better sign up...the tough part will be deciding Gruul or Boros....actually I think I've already decided to be Boros.

Have I been sheltered? I've never heard that before. WTF is a neckbeard?

But then, I have a habit of thinking that anybody who doesn't play Red or at least understand how it works must be dumb.
