So, turns out I'm not moving, but staying in the same house with different roommates. Power should get turned back on later today, at which point we'll find out if we have internet, lol.
Lately I have felt that I've been distanced from The Izzet. As a member of the Clan I lately haven't felt like I belong, not to sound cheesy but "It's not you, it's me."
I will echo the words of Pancho when I say that The Izzet was an experience for me that I won't forget. I have matured a lot as a member and as a person since I joined the Clan nearly three years ago. The Izzet has always been a cool place to chill, and I would still like to remain friends with you guys because I have no problems with any members here and I plan to pop in from time to time...
So with a heavy heart I have to announce that I am leaving The Izzet. I thank you guys for the years of good discussions, and hope that this Clan lives on forever...

...Well, there's a depressing thought. Sorry I've been out recently myself, school just started for me and it's been a bit hectic with little time for much else (having Junior and Senior level classes will do that). I find this news a tad of a downer for me seeing as ya'll are the ones I came to know first and foremost on this forum, and for that I shall surely miss you. I will try to keep in contact with those of you that I knew just to see how you are from time to time, and that said I give you all a farewell :cookie:. Best regards, Vir.

Sorry for not dropping in here for a long time, school work has gotten me all tied up for the most part.
So how has everyone been?
Also, as you can see I'm a mod now! I am currently modding Entertainment and Clans!
Good for the most part. Finally got internat at the apt, just waiting till the end of this month to switch the electric over to my name. I'm going to take advantage of someone else paying for my electricity for as long as possible lol.
Congrats and good luck with that LuckNorris! That's a hard job!
What's the issue with the current contest vote?
In another new, what do you think of the amazing new Sorin? I think he's awesome: just pop lifelink creatures and then go for the ultimate!
I think he's most comparable to Elspeth, Knight Errant, who is one of the best Planeswalkers so far. He'll go far. And so will the price tag on Isolated Chapel. It makes me sad when the W/B dual is worth about as much as both Blue ones put together.
So, GP Austin was cool. I learned a lot about becoming a better judge, and the judge foils and 2 booster boxes were nice
Nice! I had to skip my hair-brained-last-minute-plan that would inevitably fail to get to that one, but I'm hoping to make it to a lot more GPs/SCG events this year once my cash flow stabilizes.
I'll follow MirrorEntity steps: Clan Izzet was a great experience, but I feel much more identified with a clan focused on custom cards. Of course, I would like to remain a friend of you, if that's possible.

Sorry to see you guys all go. Good luck in the future and don't be strangers!
I've always thought about becoming a judge many times, but each time it's slipped through the cracks for whatever reason. It's one of the things I actually hope to concentrate on at last when I graduate this summer. Gotta focus on school at the moment.
Speaking of GPs, there is a decent chance I'll be going to GP Seattle this March. Only thing holding me back is getting some more money...
There's a possibility I'll be at that one for work. Though its pretty unlikely. Either way, I'm going to try and make it out. Seattle sounds amazing.

I hear you on the school part. I've thought about becoming a judge as well since we have a Level 2 in my area that goes to my LGS on a weekly basis. How hard is the testing though? I may have thought about it, but I have yet to even see the testing for Judges.

When I took the test it was medium difficulty. I got a 90% and the other person testing at that event got 70%, but since then the test has gotten easier. Then it was 50 questions, rules and policy. Now it's 25, with easier policy questions.

Unfortunately I am Grixis colored inherently but as we lack a Clan Grixis here I went with 2/3.
If we are participating, I might have an excellent idea.
A clockwork/etherium dragon in the image of Niv-Mizzet. We could have a different creature, but a clockwork or 'manapunk' construct would be perfect, in my opinion. I'll write a story for it as soon as we've picked a form.

All we need is an image. Any volunteers?
There's a drawback to etherium. Its generally from Alara.

How easy are we talking here? And is this the entry exam or the Level 1 or 2 exam? Also, why did they lower the qualifications and such?

You can take practice tests on the magic website for each level, and its the level 1 exam that recently got easier. They wanted to make the program more accessible at the first level, so they made L1 more of a "store judge." They'll still be able to judge bigger events, but their main purpose is for FNMs and such. I plan on going for my L2 during this summer.

Wow. That just shocked me... I was not expecting this at all. I still respect your decision though LuckNorris, good luck with your future.
Things have been pretty rough recently. A lot of people have left for various reasons. But I encourage everyone to hang in there. We will pull through.
I was thinking filigree detailing more than the absurdly improbable thinness of etherium bodies. The creature on Coma Veil is a good example. Cloudheath Drake might be a good place to start, but with more body and Niv-Mizzet-ness. The cuts in the limbs have to go, but the cuts in the chest evoke ribs, which I like.
I like all of the above. I also like Dragon Engine (I'm pretty biased about Anson Maddocks).
I also think we need to think either very slick or possibly Chibi style to make a mascot. Then we need to decide if we're going to present it like a logo (think "side of a football helmet") or costume.
Vacation. My Grandad has a summer home in The Glen at Maple Falls.

We should go with Mizzium!
I might be able to pull some strings to get a "manapunk" (I like the term BTW) dragon commisioned from my g/f. I'll ask.

Yes. We should be promoting our own materials. Is that not the point of having a mascot?
Mind you, having the etherium style in some places would be pretty neat. I did like that aspect of the Esper artifacts/creatures in the Alara block.
