Will do. Actually, we should probably see if anyone else here wishes to be our Phyrexian Librarian too, so we can discuss who's going to keep up with it.
Don't look at me.
I'll gladly write content of my own volition, but when writing becomes a task, I have this nasty habit of putting it off until never.
When we do a tournament, I will gladly recount the events in excruciating detail with humorous overtones, hopefully luring ever more eager recruits into our fold. Just don't tell me I have to.

"[Screw] you and the green you ramped in on." - My EDH battle cry. If I had one. Which I don't.
Since it will be some of the old clan members running for evincar and people that want to do something for the clan, why not give the title of librarian to the loser (if there are only 2 people running for evincar). Of course the requirement is that both of the people wanting the position are up for running the wiki part if they don't win. The reason I am suggesting this is due to the fact that they are probably the best to write about the clan history and such as well, since they have been here longer.

Damnit. I have spent too long fussing about this... and now my scars from surgery are itching and hurting...
Quote from Me, about 30 minutes ago »
For what it's worth, I have been catching up with your clans thread and I am between disappointed to highly disappointed with a number of you for what you have said or the way you've said it. A number of also have an awfully elevated sense of self and of entitlement. As to threats of leaving the site, I would more concerned about the maturity of my company rather than whether others deferred to my authority (or is that authoritah?). Very few of you actually try to understand the other side at all and it's profoundly jejune and immature; and, I feel somewhat but positively silly, even idiotic, in addressing any of this and being the 'bigger man', as the idiom goes, and not simply being stoic.
Now, just don't disappoint me and make me regret restoring the article. How? By making it decent.
If you need a hand, ask.
Considering the voluminous amount of posting that I've done thus far and the fact that you sort of get me as a package deal (also, it's just being honest and it really shouldn't offend you; it's as much as beneficence as it is non-maleficence as well), for the record, I'm not a 'guy'. I'm mildly incensed by that or the tone that one of you took (and no, that poster wasn't Tordeck; it was the same guy who suggested that an awful lot of work and so on went into the making of some sort of absolutely gorgeous magnus opus of historical worth, or such was the tone). Perhaps due to that, I am also annoyed with the civility, even the baseline level thereof, that is had for fellow users.
I was also annoyed with the talking behind my back and the general lack of integrity of the part of a few. I hope, however, that we may move on from this episode and co-exist harmoniously.
I think the main thing is the current wiki page is basically by us for us, when really it should be something by us for people just getting into the clan area of MTGS plus a bit of history so the current state of things makes sense.
Uh, yes, this was what I was alluding to above.
As a clan that hasn't won the prestigious(?) Clan of the Year award, for example, and objectively isn't all that notable or had all that much going for it then (rather, it was an tawdry and inelegant, even ugly, article that served as a listing, a dump of names and links, and I have faith that you can do much, much better), I hope you can finally learn something from this and grasp the rationale for the removal of the article on your clan. It isn't your article as much as it is everyone's, as the wiki, at heart, is not about dominion over what is yours but it is about sharing what you have with others if you 'get' me.
As a MTGS Wiki system operator, I don't randomly and arbitrarily delete articles. Furthermore, I myself am not overwhelmingly concerned with the politics of the site (why on earth would I abuse power or be interested in it? why are you kicking up a fuss?) and I essentially strive for higher purposes and goals here and in real life. If you do right by the wiki, I'm personally fine with you and, if you so contribute to something substantial, I'm thankful to you. If you do wrong by the wiki or by me, I will be disappointed, mad with you, or ambivalent.
Okay, I'm going to sleep now. This is bothering me to no end and I'm gonna sleep on it.
If you wish to collaborate on this, I would please me to no end to see yourselves happy chappies and to see the wiki, over which I feel awfully protective like a mother (perhaps unhealthily so), decent and unmolested.
Look, if this is the way you're deciding which one of you contributes to the wiki (and, do try to think broader, not solely your clan page), I shall on principle, because I'm not without principles, block that user, renege on all of my offers extended to you, and rescind my blessing and my olive branch.
I guess, failing to work something out with me [the rest of the system operators don't do so much PR and so on] (as opposed to solely me working to your wants), you could also not give a damn about the wiki altogether. I'm not telling you how to run your clan; but, seriously, if you're going to make this an obligation, this is antithetical to the wiki and you're probably much better not chronicling details for not only yourselves but everyone.
I'm actually surprised that this or wiki-related issue/-s were factors or in and of itself/themselves enough to cause an exodus. The more you know.
Finally, I have always, always made myself accessible via some way or another; PM, e-mail, my wiki user talk page, any page on the wiki, MTG Salvation Wiki:Community Portal, Talk:Main Page, etc. Don't lie and say you have made every attempt to contact me or that I've made myself impossible to reach.

You seem to have missed the most important part of that suggestion, which was that it was only if all of the persons who wanted to be clan leader alsowanted to contribute to the wiki (This was the main argument for doing it that way). Not that the wiki part just was sorry that you lost, here take this instead, reward. Simply that would not make sense and be unhealthy overall. I just imagined that if people were willing to put some effort into one thing they would probably also be wanting to put some effort into another slightly related thing. Looking back, I can see that the way I phrased it might cause it to be misunderstood, but I had no intention to just get the wiki responsibility passed over to someone as a loser's prize, if he had no intentions of using it for broader perspectives, as you mentioned.
Also another reason I did not mention for using an old member is that they are probably less likely to stop using this site than a relatively new one (I have no proof for this, but my gut feeling says so), thus reducing the risk of changing the wiki contributor often, the and such part, was actually the poorly elaborated important part, since the and such part, covers everything basic about wiki contribution, such as writing about the epic battle between Nicol Bolas and Leshrac to writing about the basis for how to view different archetypes and formats in the game of Magic.
So while it at first glance might have seen obnoxious and close-minded, I did write what I did for a purpose and I would have elaborated on it further if the idea went up for discussion. I apologize if my suggestion offended you, since it is clear that you like the wiki a lot, but as I said, my suggestion should only be considered if candidates for the leader and wiki contributor was the same, because then it would be assured that they both wanted both things, we, in the clan, could then chose the one we wanted as a clan organizer/leader and the other one could delve into contributing to the wiki, because he wanted to do so as well. My original suggestion was only valid if those conditions were the ones in place, not if one of them did not want to.
I hope this made you see my previous post in a different light, because I usually do not write huge walls of text, I rather redefine and refine broad ideas over many posts, to be able to change according to wishes as I progress towards a goal where more people agree and thus avoiding to type for extended time periods each time I have a new contribution.

The walls of text in this thread lately. I always find myself coming to post, getting lost in a 20 minute read of updates from my previous visit, and forgetting what I was going to post about
Alas I have no real input on the situation at hand considering my input was the incredibly insightful 'uhhh, ask someone' (might be an ad lib slightly, lol).
On a much cooler note: I PICKED UP SOMEONE AWESOME YESTERDAY!!!!!!
background:
It was alumni weekend this weekend for my fraternity, and I got to see some of my good friends that had recently graduated and went of to get jobs and become 'real people'. Anyway we were hanging out and got a few casual drafts in. My good friend Brett said he had something to show me. Apparently he had picked up an ancestral recall with the extra money from his moving bonus from his new job. It was pretty sweet. I don't know how professional grading works but I would give it a NM. It had no marks on it at all. (Unlimited of course)
anyway he then just handed me another cool card that will remain nameless until I can get a scan up :-p and said I could keep it. It was cool. I like my friends!!!
Anyway, c ya'll tomorrow. I'm gunna go finish homework... I have a lot to do, 4 assignments due in the next 4 days and 3 projects due in the next 2 weeks. Looking at about 120+ hours in the lab trying to get this stuff done. Yay for a junior computer engineer's schedule

SA has a wiki update in the works. Following that, a volunteer for the Phyrexian Librarian role would be nice. I expect that with a pared down wiki entry updates will not need to be very frequent at all.
9909, thanks for stopping by to explain everything and for keeping things cordial. And for calling us out when we were in the wrong.
We're going to need to actually get that new Evincar bit sorted out pretty soon. For starters, anyone who wants the spot should say so.
We will also need a new thread title if anyone has some ideas.
Speaking of the Vote, any idea when it is anyways?
Also, attached is the condensed history of CMB for the future wiki project. Be advised, its still beta here and needs some revisions. It also lacks an entry for the first three threads and an entry for any event since my resignation as Evincar.
I have a suggestion. perhaps clan mono black should hold a yearly vote for Evincar on Halloween. Every year the evincar has to defend his title versus any one that wants to take it. The scion would act in the same manor as vice president here in america where if the Evincar decides to leave during the course of the year they will support the clan until the next election. Halloween seems like a good day to do this based on flavor alone.
New name:
"Who needs a Dark Confidant when you have [Clan Mono Black]"
Based on how many people were sad about dark confidant not being reprinted in return to ravinica. he will probably not be reprinted either but instead be in that modern masters.
As for the positions I believe that SirAuron would be the best right now. he has a proven track record of getting the clan back on track and that is what we need right now. He also seems to be the one right now taking the most interest in cooperating with mods and 9909 in getting the clan on the right track.
I would volunteer for the librarian position but their are a couple things I am apprehensive about. I haven't been with the clan as long as others so i don't know as much of our history. I also have never run a wiki page and don't want to mess it up. The last thing is that I am only a minion and don't think I'm eligible to hold the position.

I like this idea. Not sure if we have time to vote by Halloween this year, but it's worth a shot.
I like this idea. Not sure if we have time to vote by Halloween this year, but it's worth a shot. [Clan Mono-Black]
Honestly it seems the position will be filled by either SirAuron or therestless. they are the two with the most experience from what i've seen. It will probably come down to the two of them. i'm sure we can all come up with a decent idea of who we would want in 8 days.
I have a suggestion. perhaps clan mono black should hold a yearly vote for Evincar on Halloween. Every year the evincar has to defend his title versus any one that wants to take it.
Unnecessary. We only need to change Evincars when there is a reason to change Evincars.
9909 - Yes for the remainder of this discussion you are welcome to post here but do keep in mind that this is our clan and you have no right to dictate to us how we run it or anything associated with us.
Tom - I have no personal respect or anyone who jumps ship without having the integrity to say something first. (and no saying oh I am leaving the clan cuz I am getting out of magic or just not feeling it any more, etc just to sign up with a new one a week later is not having integrity - grow some balls and tell us that you want to be with another clan for whatever the real reason is [even if that reason is me]) so yeah you got lumped in with the rest of the staff. As I see integrity as something that should be common sense.
TEIN - While I am still in charge you are not welcome here. Please do not post in this or any CMB thread until such time as you are given permission by my successor (if they so wish)
9909 - Yes for the remainder of this discussion you are welcome to post here but do keep in mind that this is our clan and you have no right to dictate to us how we run it or anything associated with us.
I realise that but you must realise that you have no right in saying that the Clan Mono-Black page, though something associated with you collectively, is something over which I do not have oversight. All right?
I'd appreciate if you actually confirmed your understanding of this with me. Thanks in advance.
Edit: At no juncture do I actually say anything or allude to how you should or shouldn't run your stuff; but, as long as it concerns the wiki, it concerns me. (I did, however, say that if you're making one of your members be an editor, probably the sole editor, of your clan page, even if they voluntarily sign up for it, that is not wiki and therefore has no place at MTGS Wiki.) That's generally how it is. I am loosening my belt for you, so please accord some respect and you don't need attitude and the gall, thank you very much.
If you really must have some Web turf, there are sites that may host your content free of charge and without strings attached. I'd probably read the legal, though. Ta.
I realise that but you must realise that you have no right in saying that the Clan Mono-Black page, though something associated with you collectively, is something over which I do not have oversight. All right?
How the page looks and its content, yes you have jurisdiction on. Who and how we decide on that person that is doing the updating (as long as no rules are broken), you have no say.
And I am not saying the suggestion was good or bad. Traditionally the Librarian was a voluntary position had no real place within the clan leadership unless they were already a Praetor or above. But trying to tell us how we decide on who is going to be that position is not a right you have.
Unnecessary. We only need to change Evincars when there is a reason to change Evincars.
I believe that it is necessary to make the Evincar continue doing what is best for the clan, instead of doing some good at the beginning then just riding the position until such a time as we fail. It is the built in incentive of the leadership position to strive for greatness. it also forces everyone else in the clan to take a critical look at our progress over the past year and to decide if it was in the right direction. What we have now is kinda like giving professors tenure because they were decent teachers. Then they decide that since their position can't be contested they don't have to work up to the standards they should be at.
How the page looks and its content, yes you have jurisdiction on. Who and how we decide on that person that is doing the updating (as long as no rules are broken), you have no say.
Good that we agree; but, you really, really don't have to take that tone.
And I am not saying the suggestion was good or bad. Traditionally the Librarian was a voluntary position had no real place within the clan leadership unless they were already a Praetor or above. But trying to tell us how we decide on who is going to be that position is not a right you have.
Again, I'm not saying that. No amount of assertion makes what I said me telling you to do anything.
I did, however, caution against forcing anyone to do anything against their will because few things kill passion as does obligation.
Tell me, anyone, while anyone may edit pages at MTGS Wiki, will other users edit pages (because, say, what if something happens to your librarian or he or she simply CBB anymore?)?
Finally, to be frank, I'm tired of cleaning up and wiping the crap off articles, so I'd really, really appreciate if your editor(s), whoever they are, are competent with wiki things - or competent with asking and are humble and genuinely want to know - as well as rather decent with the English language in general.
All guilds bow befor [CLAN MONO-BLACK]. I do like the Halloween vote. That right there would make me wanna stay for the next couple years at least. Just to see who would challenge our evincar for power? What else is [cmb] about? perfect example of what will you do to win! also my vote is for SA. i have to agree that when he does input and work, things seem to get done. also i still need to get the pumpkin pic to someone. like i said i was having fun with myu boy so i messed up the mouth

I also have never run a wiki page and don't want to mess it up. The last thing is that I am only a minion and don't think I'm eligible to hold the position.
Well I like your idea, what about something along the lines:
We are a mix of Orzhov and Dimir, no, not Azorius... [Clan Mono-Black]
If we want a goofy guild-themed thread name, this is an idea... (no idea if it is too long, if it is I can try and think up something shorter).

I like this idea. Not sure if we have time to vote by Halloween this year, but it's worth a shot.
The better half of Orzhov and Dimir: [Clan Mono-Black]

Honestly it seems the position will be filled by either SirAuron or therestless. they are the two with the most experience from what i've seen. It will probably come down to the two of them. i'm sure we can all come up with a decent idea of who we would want in 8 days.
Unnecessary. We only need to change Evincars when there is a reason to change Evincars.
That one is a bit unwieldly.

(also its a very black mana system - prove you are worthy or be overthrown)

TYVM.
Good that we agree; but, you really, really don't have to take that tone.
