Good thing she left Maryland. People get shot on the first day of school here! That was so crazy, as it's just down the street from where I live.
The kid came into school with a dismantled double-barrel shotgun and pulled both triggers at once! That's the only reason the teacher that tackled him was able to do so. He had to reload. He shot a special needs student with Down's Syndrome on the back.
Thing is....he posted on his facebook page that morning that this was the last day of his life. You'd think that the parents of a 15 year old would take action if their child posted that crap on their page. He also had friends that talked to him about suicide over the summer and they didn't say anything to his parents. What the hell people!?>!?!
Parenting is not hard......you ask some questions, take of your kids, be involved! Just takes a little extra time!

The thing is....I had a bunch of friends that didn't tell their parents anything and they were usually the worst of the bunch. I'm not talking guns and fighting and prostitution, more just drink a lot and sneak out of the house all the time. Anytime they got in trouble it was because of the bad influence of people like me.
I told my parents everything. It took a little time but I realized early enough that they pretty much knew everything anyway. I mean...they were kids too. My parents were married with children before the age of 19. They snuck around and smoked and drank as teenagers. When I opened up to them they actually let me have more freedoms. I also found that I didn't drink as heavily when I went out. I did go crazy with my college freedoms either.
But then there are those kids whose parents just don't want to accept that their child has issues. Then it becomes the parent's fault for living a life with blinders on. The thing is....they try to find the reason in their friends and peers as to why their kids were "troubled". They need to look at themselves first.
Denial is the easiest way to get over grief. Shame really....

Anyone else starting d guildwars2? I'm just before lvl 60 and am starting to get bored a bit...
What about it is boring? I'm interested in getting it because, on the surface, it looks different enough from the other MMOs out there.
I'm pretty old school gangsta when it comes to MMOs. My first was Ultima and contemporary MMOs do not satisfy. Richard Garriott has started development for a game that he calls "the spiritual successor to Ultima Online". And if EA aren't total brats they will sell the rights to Ultima to him so it can truly be Ultima Onine 2. Seriously looking forward to how this develops.

After reading in lots of places that Call of Duty 4 was the best of the series, I ended up downloading it. I stayed up on Saturday night until 3:00 AM on Sunday...

It reminded me a lot of Delta Force from 1998...
I liked world at war better. maybe because of the zombie mode.

It seems that any game that comes out now has a zombie mode. My son is finding that as a basis for downloading games lately.
Zombies....huh....who knew?

I finished CoD4:MW already. Great replay value too, now that I'm playing with permanent-a-grenade-dropped-on-your-head-will-kill-you-without-even-exploding wounds.
I did that in three days. And they weren't non-stop days. Different strokes I guess.

This.
What I cannot begin to comprehend is how in goodness name a kid with this kind of issues has access to that kind of firepower.
