Welcome to the third Clan Contest of 2012, Custom Card Creation! Over the next few weeks, we'll be designing cards based on the most recently completed block, Innistrad. Our theme? Double Faced Cards.
The contest will take place over three rounds, which will be unveiled as we progress. Each round will have a deadline of two weeks. Judging will occur concurrently with the rounds, that is, the prompt for round two will go up at the same time as the judging period for round one, with the same deadline of two weeks.
For the judging phase, each participating clan must fill out the attached rubric for each other entry. At bare minimum, your clan should provide a three number score. That said, comments are always appreciated, as custom card creators love constructive criticism.
The deadline for the current round is Friday, September 7th, at Midnight EST.
Please submit all entries and judgings to me via PM with the subject line: "Clan Contest 3: [Clan Name]'s Round 3 judgings"
Below are the round prompts, the judging rubric, and the suggested formatting for cards.
Make a Werewolf
This round, we're keeping it simple. The double faced card concept was created as the answer to the question, "How do we make werewolves awesome?" We saw the answer in Innistrad block, but surely there's more design space to be explored?

1. Your card must be a double faced card.
2. Your card must have the creature type Werewolf on both sides.
Anything else is up to you!

Make a non-Werewolf DFC

Balance/Mechanics /10
Is the card printable? Is it too powerful? Not good enough? Look at the card from the perspective of 60-,100-, and 40-card formats. Would you play with it?
Innovation/Creativity of Mechanics /10
Forge new ground! Nobody likes to see the same old thing rehashed over and over. We aren't looking for whacky, off-the-wall stuff, but at the same time we'd like to see that dash of creativity that makes your card unique. Does it make you say "cool!"?
Flavor/Card Concept /10
There are several clans that put flavor first with card designs, and I want to give them a nod here. Is the concept of the card evocative? Is the flavor text (there's not much room on a DFC usually) well-written? How about the name? Does the card draw you in with its flavor?
For readability, I suggest formatting your cards in the following way:
Gatstaf Shepherd1G

Um, so, I've got a bit of egg on my face right now!
While tinkering with my PMs I accidentally deleted all of the R1 judgings from my inbox! Terrible, I know. I do apologize, but I'd like to request that the participating clans resubmit just the judgings for R1 along with their R3 entry and R2 judgings.
I was hoping I could run the contest without a hitch, but these things happen.
Sorry again!

Congratulations to [The Crafters] for winning Clan Contest 3 2012: Custom Card Creation!
Thanks for participating, and I hope you all had fun
Notes on scores:
1. I am missing some scores. However, all five clans that participated in all three rounds submitted scores for each round, and I am using those scores alone to determine the placing.
2. I hadn't planned on revealing the scores. Some clans gave critiques, others did not, and throwing out the numbers isn't super important. If the Clan Council wants, I can throw my score spreadsheet up on a google doc pretty easily, though.

Custom Card Creation
Welcome to the third Clan Contest of 2012, Custom Card Creation! Over the next few weeks, we'll be designing cards based on the most recently completed block, Innistrad. Our theme? Double Faced Cards.

Gatstaf Shepherd 1G
Creature — Human Werewolf {U}
At the beginning of each upkeep, if no spells were cast last turn, transform Gatstaf Shepherd.
"What is worse than a wolf in sheep's clothing?"

Gatstaf Howler
(G) Creature — Werewolf {U}
Intimidate (This creature can't be blocked except by artifact creatures and/or creatures that share a color with it.)
At the beginning of each upkeep, if a player cast two or more spells last turn, transform Gatstaf Howler.
3/3
The G to the left of the Howler's type line is the color indicator.

You cannot outrun the beast within.
All entries have been collected and posted in the "round one entries" spoiler in the OP.
Round two has also been posted.
Judgings for round one and entries for round two are both due on August 17th, Midnight EST
If I missed your entry, let me know and I'll double check my PMs.
Any questions? Just ask.
Have fun!
-----
Wow, time flies fast. Just two days left!
Don't forget, I need your judgings as well as your R2 entry!
-----
Since I know that many of you do not live in my time zone, from the timestamp of this post you have about 16 hours left to get your entries and R2 judgings in.
I did not receive entries from [The Gang] or the [Pack] before the deadline.
I am still in the process of compiling scores.

Well, almost. It's time to rank the round three entries. You have one week.
I did not receive an entry from [Tolarian Academy] by the deadline.
If you did not resend me your clan's round 1 ratings, your clan rep should be expecting a PM from me.
I also have all of the scores safely in an excel spreadsheet, so barring any REALLY unfortunate circumstances we should be good to go
1. [The Crafters]
2. [Clan Flamingo]
3. [Clan Mono Black]
4. [House Dimir]
5. [Kitchen Table Finks]
6. [Tolarian Academy]
7. [Pack]
8. [The Gang]
