I'm a lurker by nature... most times I've got little input.. I get around to catching up on the thread about once a week.

anyway this site has gotten me really annoyed. there really is no point to post deck lists or discuss strategy anymore in the competitive or any other forums. Im pretty much done with this site as a whole for now...aside from the spoilers which is the only thing it is on par with. seems weak.

did something change recently, or has this been a problem brewing? i only ask because i've seen a number of people complain about the standard forums recently.

I'll agree since they "redid" the forums, they actually made it MUCH MUCH worse, dividing up the standard deck discussion area into like a million sub forums for each deck split up the interested men. All talk for a certain deck INCLUDING lists should be kept in one thread. Salvation + mods that wanted it that way fully dropped the ball imo. Original salvation threads were the best....the newschool is trash...."unplayable" as I like to call it. However I like this thread, and the spoilers on this site are pretty much the best on the net.

@ Everyone - so this happened to me last week at fnm....how would you honestly react or do? I was 1-1-1 going into round 4. My opponent asks me for the win, I was like nah dude, if I simply win out I can make t8. So we play, I end up winning the match so I'm now 2-1-1, we shake hands, I say good game. He then says he's going to report, then goes up and reports I lost and that he won 2-0. I understand winner is always supposed to report ....but in this case I trusted the guy and it's someone who plays there like every week at depot. I then was unknowingly paired down and beat my next opponent so I ended up going 3-1-1 , enough for a top 8 spot. After t8 was announced and I wasnt in it, I inquired....found I only had 7 points.....we found out what my 4th round opponent did. After recalculating the win I came in 9th place, misisng t8 because of poor tiebreaks on my pair down round 5. Was this a malicious move on his part? Was it an accident? All I know is I made a move for his banning if not at least a dci suspension. Today I'm going to get in his face and see wtf happened.....opinions/ideas?

It's clearly a chase of Cheating - Fraud. The problem is that it would be almost impossible to prove what happened, and judge inquiries usually can only take place while or immediately after the event in question happens. The event is too far gone to figure out if there was ill intent or if the slip just got marked wrong.

Basically, there are no competitive standard forums. Seems epic fail to me. The only reason I still go to this site is for this thread and rumor mill. The developing section of standard is a joke, much like the moderation on this site.

playing it vs mono red, vs boros, vs vampires, vs tempered steel...aka anything aggro, I NEVER wanted to use it for 2 life, also seeing their hand doesnt give you much advantage....MD clasms or slags def going in main in their place....thus dealing with the aggro issue.

Royal Collectibles, Marks Comics, and Comic Book Depot are the main FNM spots. Occasionally there is some Vintage tournaments on Saturday out at Brother's Grimm. Sunday is Legacy at Royal Collectibles. Not really sure much about anything else. All those FNM's are standard.
