I think my opinion of the Control Clan will entirely need to wait for a few weeks just to see how it develops and what becomes of us here at MUC. I have no doubt you guys will make an excellent clan and environment and I hope I can add to it in some way. I'll revisit the idea of where to place myself somewhere in a month or two when things settle down a bit but at the moment, I feel comfortable saying I have no qualms commenting and visiting both threads regardless of my official pledge to one or the other, as long as you will all have me, if not I understand.
Pretty much, I wish everyone the best who has left, will leave, and is going to stay.
MUC is a bit headless at the moment, we should look into that.

Sorin being a UB is kind of odd but maybe it makes sense and what he did for the plane really did strike me as a fun little twist. Since his granddad was an alchemist, maybe there's a little blue left in him too.
Fated Hour is a meh mechanic; it's requirement is hard to meet and will only get harder when the previous block rotates (phyrexian mana will be a good enabler).
Undying is clearly persist so Melria decks get new toys.
The art is amazing, this is easily my favorite set as far as that is concerned. Right now it lacks the same appeal that Ravnica had for me, but this is coming in at a close second for me in terms of everything about it. Any thoughts so far? I know the rumor season just started but at the moment I am elated with this.
I would like blue to move back into the draw-go style and away from this mill nonsense but what can you do.. all paradigm shifts I suppose.

I have sent the following in PMs to many of you. I am sharing it here to:
Quote from Xanth »
Greetings.
If you are not up to date with the goings on in the [Mono Blue Clan], much change has transpired recently. Several members have left the clan to start a new clan. I recently stepped down as the leader of the clan as well. I take full responsibility for my lack of commitment to the clan these past many months; my life has continually presented many things to keep me busy, and I rarely managed to update the OP and indoctrinate new memberships. Inevitably it has driven the initial divide, which has now grown, as more members have voiced their dissent from the clan. No successful rise to the empty MUC throne has occurred, and things are looking grim.
I am seeing this beautiful thing that I have been a part of and helped run for many moons dissipate before me, and it has instilled a new zeal within me.
I am going to remain leader of the MUC, and I am going to put into effect the following changes:
1. I will be creating a new [Mono Blue Clan] thread, which will be posted by tomorrow and linked to in the old clan thread.
2. No more member bios in the OP. These take up plenty of space in the OP, even when put into spoiler tags. Requiring an individual to provide personal or semi-personal information to become a member is not something that needs to really be a requirement for an online forum group.
3. No more Probationary Membership period. For an individual to become a member, they must simply request so with the understanding that by requesting for clan membership they intend to post in the clan regularly.
4. No more friends of the clan list. If an individual wishes to be a friend of the clan, they can simply post when they want in the clan thread. Assigning them a "Friend of the [Mono Blue Clan]" status within our clan registrar is mostly pointless, as one can ascertain that any individual posting in the clan who is not on the clan membership roster is a friend of the clan.
5. [Mono Blue Clan] Projects. Decklists & concepts, articles, primers, and the like; these are all things that can result from regular discussion in the clan thread which has grown into garnering substantial conversation. New threads will be created for them in proper sections of the MTGSalvation forum with a "[Mono Blue Clan] Presents:" style. These new threads will be linked to from the clan's OP.
Example: a Legacy-legal deck idea begins circulation in the clan thread. It reaches some level of fruition and is ripe for commentary from many more competitive minds in the community. After agreeing on a title for the deck, a new thread is created for it* in the Legacy forum section on MTGSalvation; "[Mono Blue Clan] Presents: Cephalid Lunch", etc. This does four things:
- It frees up space in the clan thread for more topics to see feedback.
- It spreads word of the [Mono Blue Clan], potentially generating new traffic from users who enjoy topics that we do.
- It allows those who do not wish to provide commentary on the deck to remain active instead of not posting while everyone talks about the deck.
- It gives new permanence to the project so that it does not fade into the past pages of the clan thread. In doing this it also allows for more insight on the given project from the MTGSalvation community.
* The new thread will be created by a chosen member of the clan who is closely related to the given project.
If you wish to remain a member of the [Mono Blue Clan], I would like you to PM me, so that I can put your name on the new membership roster for the new thread. If you get this message after the new thread has been created and you find that your name is not on the registrar, simply let me know and I will gladly add it.

I am going to contemplate a lot of things today.
Feeling pretty blue right now...
You're not alone.
Looks like I joined during a major change in the clan. Hopefully, everything will settle down in time.

The member list has been sadder than this (like when Tom became the clan leader). It's just due for an update. No problem.
it's so sad
Although I'm never here so it really doesn't matter to me anyways.
I think that makes me a bad person.
