Great story as always Daggertooth I wonder what meditation on the top of a mountain is like, it must be a very unique feeling.
Happy Lughnasadh to anyone who celebrates it. It's supposed to be a fire festival as well as a harvest celebration, but British Columbia banned bonfires a couple of days ago in wake of the wildfire season, so I'll be sitting in the field holding a stick of incense instead. We put the last of the hay up yesterday, so we can still celebrate that.
Unfortunately, there are still blueberries waiting to be picked, so the work isn't completely done yet
I am completely burnt out on T2. I just made 6-7 casual decks for my friends and I to play with. All sets are allowed and I follow banned and restricted rules. I think I may be done w/ T2, it is just a money pit and my cash is too tight right now. I've pondered selling some stuff, but think I would take on a room-mate before parting with those damn cards. They are more than a game or and investment to me. They are a part of my childhood. I'll never "quit" but I don't think I'll play in any tournys again.

Happy Flackfark!
Flackfark is the celebration of my smacking you when you say something stupid.
Like my car's license plate?
I need to redo it. It's been on there for about 6 months and the weather has taken it's toll.

Makin' sure the ladies are squeaky clean ..everywhere!!
Netdecking is piloting Magic.
Homebrew is creating Magic.
Are you a pilot or a creator??
His name is Azaro, after the protagonist of my favourite novel, The Famished Road. His middle name is Jai, after our good friend who passed on a few years ago.
He's a MetalTiger, like his Nanna & so far, so very good
Moms are good for that, lol. To this day, mine (even though she's in prison for the rest of her life) still calls me her lil' dumpling. Guh.

Excellent names! I enjoy people that provide their children with meaningful names. I've always wondered, what is "O"'s name? I've only ever seen him called "O".

Wow, cool. I and my 6 year old nephew are both Monkeys, although I don't know which elemental sign.
Thanks Manders! I love him!
Honestly, I've been lurking for awhile waiting for the proclamation so that I could congratulate you. I absolutely love children and can't wait for my own one day.
Also, I hope you are all doing well. While I still have no desire to become a member, you're still a group of really cool guys and it was nice getting to know some of you while I did.
Moms are good for that, lol. To this day, mine (even though she's in prison for the rest of her life) still calls me her lil' dumpling. Guh.

We do love our silly nicknames. Orlando is often still Wu or Skub
The O-Man is such a good big brother. Shook the baby's hand & said "pleased to meet you Boocious Babe!" - again with the silly nicknames, O decided the baby was Boo & then Boocious. Funny thing, my mother was Boo, & then I have been Boo since moving to Oz, now baby gets the "family name" When little guy cries, O gets all choked up & distressed, & he talks about all the things he can share with his sibling, you can tell he just loves being a big brother.
I went to a booster draft last night. Went 3-0 and won 4 packs (should have been a lot more considering there was 11 people in my pod and entrance was $16.)
Anyway, I had Primal Titan in my deck and opened up Grave Titan and Fauna Shaman in my winning. Only other rares were Drowned Catacomb (only rare I drafted), Hoarding Dragon, and Phlactery Lich. I know the first three I mentioned are money cards and plan to sell. Figure I'd give the clan first dibs before I try my hand at the marketing area of this site or some dealership. I'll probably PM Daron as well to see if he's into buying any of those.
I went to my first booster draft in a long time last night. Something called M11. First pick was a Primal titan which looked neat and drove me into looking for green splashing black for some removal. Got a few land fetching cards and a few other cheap creatures before pushing my curve a bit on the high side... Basically six 5cc creatures and a 6cc creature making almost half my deck cost five or more...very high curve. Added evasion with two whipersilk cloaks and my Removal consisted of two plummets, a doom blade, and a corrupt.
First round was against a mostly white deck. He got out some creature that tapped mine and a white night and a few other things. I had my big beasts and stalled his attacks with my spider while he stalled my attacks with a few tricks. I got my titan out and attacked next turn but he prevented all damage from my creatures and triple blocked the titan. I "rise from the grave" the titan, put a cloak on it so the white night can't block, then smash him.
Game two had me mana screwed and I quickly lost. Game three started off the same with him sacking a jinxed idol at me. Knocked me down to 8 before I came back with beasts and the titan again.
Round two had me against a B/U deck I was slightly worried about. The guy sat next to me and I knew he had mana leaks, two assasinates, and several fliers I couldn't deal with. First game saw the basalisks beat him up. He holds his own with his removal for a bit, but once that was expended I brought in the titan and it was pretty much all over for him. Game 2 had us stalled against each other. I had many more creatures than he did but he had two 4/5 creatures and enough of a solid defense that I couldn't get through it. I stole a pumping shade from him with my "rise from the grave" but he killed it. Eventually I got my cloak an just beat him down with that.
Round three was against a R/W deck that was a bit agro. Game one he came out early with a 3/2 haste. I got a good defender down and he tossed down shivs embrase on the 3/2 and smacked me for a lot. I had a plummet in my hand but was one mana shy from being able to use it. I killed the big guy next turn but by then couldn't recover and he raced me to death.
Game two had me coming out strong with the beat down. He did decent enough damage but my creatures were bigger. I thought I had him beat until he cast shivs embrase on another 3/2 and swung for a lot of damage. "you got me?" I asked....he looked at his land. "one short" was the reply, so I finished him off.
Game three had me with an awesome hand and him slightly manascrewed. I got out my little elves and made sure I wouldn't miss any land drop while he missed his fifth land drop. He had two mountains and two plains. I creeping mold creature'd his mountain, he missed another land drop and fire balled my creeping mold creature, I "rise from the dead" the creeping mold and take out his last mountain leaving him at 2 plains and me with a titan in my hand. I know, I was mean....but I couldn't help it.
Seems the tournament was only a three round thing. So I got first place. The cost of the boosterdraft was $16 so I was disappointed that the prise pay off was only 4 packs for me. Still, I opened up a black titan and a Fauna Shaman and those are suppose to be good.
Fun night. Green titan was awesome. Every time I got that out I was able to get all my land out... literally...no land left in the deck. Searched for my 6 swamps every time and my Corrupt was cast nearly every time for at least 5 damage if not 6 as my big beast removal and life gain. Fun card all around.
Other than that booster draft I've been visiting friends. Hiking and picnicking with an old friend from highschool, playing through halo 2 and 3 with a friend from scofield, getting too drunk with a friend from my old skiing seasonal job, hiking with another scofield friend and snacking on various edible plants on the trail, and mtg with another friend. Hard to meet up with all of them actually. I know I'm not the biggest fan of Utah, but every time I visit I think that it wouldn't be so bad to live here.
Got my High school Reunion tonight. Ten years....can't believe it...time just moves way too fast.
Cheers

And I guess that I'm a lucky one for the truth of what I know. For my heart had not denied me and I have somewhere to go. I shall never be a prisoner of steel and glass and stone. If I leave, I will return again to my Rocky Mountain home.
Well I got my username changed from AmbassadorLaquatus to Ambassador Laquatus. Huge deal, I know.
I bought some WWK packs today and opened a Jace. After I opened it I traded back all the remaining sealed WWK packs for M11 packs. The store clerk was cool about it, since we're on good terms. Got another Grave Titan out of the M11 packs. I don't see how this guy is worth money. He's just Captain of the Watch in black. Granted he has awesome art, but I just don't see his potential.
Ria, I hope you're sleeping well with a new baby. I once heard the phrase "Whoever invented the term 'sleeping like a baby' has obviously never had one".
I'm currently watching The Wire on DVD. It's fantastic. I've never seen a show that captures a portrait of an entire city as realistically as this show does.
Congrats Brian! I hope Mom and baby are happy and comfy back at home where they belong. O-man is going to be a great bro to his little bro!

Thanks, jj. Mum had a very smooth & quick labor, & we're settling in nicely at home now, programming sleep mode for the little dude progressing nicely (yes, Zo, you sleep at night ).
A L, you totally had your avatar hijacked by Kraj, what up with that?
Also, gimme your Jace 2.0
I still see you on the facedbook, way to bust out of school
We've just seen a plane devoured by tentacle monsters , the latest core set is dominated by $50 giant idiots :p, & now we're heading back to Mirrodin where the Phyrexians are apparently trying to turn it into some kind of leisure resort plane
Silent Prophet, that Titania Vanguard came in You rock, sir!
Still slogging my way through the Battlestar Galactica reboot. I picked up Men Who Stare At Goats & 300 but haven't had a chance to watch either yet. . . & I soooo need to get out & see Scott Pilgrim! Looks like they did a great job capturing the graphic novel's flavours.
Was listening to KC's Dat New New in the car & Mister O asked, "Does he say hot shapes " Yes, O-Man, yes he does
Its a shame about Heroes getting cancelled. I would have been fine with it finishing but the arrogance of the creators in thinking they would get renewed and therefore leaving on a cliffhanger really hurts. I can't be the only one who hates American shows for that reason (or whoever it is that pays for the shows). I just feel that unless you know a show is getting renewed that a cliffhanger is unfair to the fans.
I thought they ended in a decent place; Clair tying the whole thing together with her camera speech.
Heh heh, A-Team.
