Well, in all fairness, I used to wear an Irish wedding band on my left ring finger. It's now on my index finger, but still.
That's pretty much the hope I'm holding on to: the slim chance it's not a wedding ring. I will have to do further investigation. I'll keep you all updated...
Fellow Gaymer here from New Jersey just introducing myself heh, Ive been playing magic on and off for years but ive been playing competatively at FNMs since Morningtide. I hope to get to know more of you as we go and remember, keep playing Magic!
Hey all! Congratulations to Howler! I saw a production in Manitoba with Len Cariou in the Stage Manager role. He's a native Manitoban, but he also has two Tony awards to his name, so that was really neat to have experienced.
Right now, I've been busy with being an Assistant SM on Arsenic and Old Lace, which opened on thursday, and is going well.

The movie is fun, but the play is hysterical. I really do prefer it, even if I've never seen a professional production.
@ Acedian: Halloa. I'm Dorian. I've been here just about forever, but in a very unpredictable, sporadic fashion.
@ Gigaguess - Growing up and getting rid of the metal? Awwww. Were they just earrings or did you go for the lips, nose, and eyebrows?
@ Howler - Congrats on getting the part!
In totally unrelated news, I might be up in the Chicago area for Conflux Prerelease fun. This would be the first actual prerelease event I've attended.
I don't go to school yet but man am I excited for my college friends to come back to town. My closest ones pretty much live in this area but there are a few that I miss that live too far away to visit readily.
Here's a fella that combines our love of boys with our love of all things geeky. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the star of the new TV series based on Terry Goodkind's Wizard's First Rule novels:
Craig Horner
The producers of this series have, in their infinite wisdom, not only cast a total hottie in the role, but take advantage of pretty much every second the story will allow for him to be shirtless and show off that ridiculously perfect body of his. For example, I first noticed the show when I was flipping and stumbled across a full minute or two of him chopping wood and building a bridge. Totally gratuitous, no story relevance whatsoever. It was awesome.
Then we get a Star Wars-esque training scene with his utterly creepy wizard mentor who looks like Iggy Pop. Why, it's far too hot to wear a shirt while training...
The most recent episode not only had him shirtless pretty much the entire time, he was also tied up and being tortured by a dominatrix into being her lapdog. This show is pure gold!
And hey, he's not bad in the face either.
Not much say about him info-wise. He's an Aussie, 25 years old, has mostly been on TV and in a handful of no-name movies. Though he notably was in Swimming Upstream with "House" hottie Jesse Spencer. That one is definitely getting bumped up the Netflix queue.

Dang...Kraj just reminded me I need to watch Legend of the Seeker. It's a great show but its on at a crappy time and day. >.< That guy is pretty though.
So I totally splurged on a whim today and finally bought myself a bass. I got a Squier Affinity P Bass in blue (though a darker, more metallic blue than that picture), it came with everything (tuner, case, amp, dvd, headphones, 2 year warranty, the works) for just under $400. I didn't even go into the store intending to buy anything, I just wanted to check on average prices. I checked on the Squier kit and was told how much it was, without thinking I said "Does it come in blue?"
Most people get gum as an impulse buy, I get a musical instrument.
Now I just have to learn to play. Can anyone (David) reccommend some good behinner songs to ease me in? I already have the basics down (seriously, tuning, frets and walking the strings are exactly rocket science), I just need a few songs to practice with to really get a feel for it.

Oh, are you talking to me?
Honestly, I'm not a huge bass-man, I only play guitar, and usually acoustic ones that don't have a bassline. I'd recommend playing through the lower-tiered Bass songs on Rock Band (yeah, I know, lame), and seeing which ones intrigue you enough to learn on the real thing, then look up the tablature. Personally, I'd love to be able to play Where'd You Go? by Mighty, Mighty Bosstones on real bass.
Good for you, by the way. I wish I could do $400 impulse buys...
Undoubtedly. Prior to asking the Entertainment forum at large, you're invariably my go-to guy for guitar info.

Lol, I figured you'd say that. No less than three other friends said the exact same thing.

I really shouldn't have. My plan to wait six weeks was so that I wouldn't put myself in a rather tense financial situation. Which I now, unfortunately, am.
I watched a lot of that show but I don't ever remember it ending.
... dammit, now I'm curious.

Evidently, Dar killed Balcifer and freed his family from their cursed animal forms and joined them in the clouds at the end of the third season. But a year later, the first episode of the fourth season aired but that season never continued.
Awesome fact: the amazing Juno from The Descent was in this show playing Dar's lost love.
Damn, crush my hopes and dreams, why don't ya?
No, nevermind... I won't let something so trivial deter me. Wish me luck.

Four years. Holy hell. Time flies, and all that.
Hah! Why wait til you play magic? Just get in there and do what comes natural and if anyone else has a hard time with that, jump em.
Welcome to the new members. There was talk of inserting a secret handshake joke but no one actually did it I have failed as a ment*****.
Sigh. As usual, when a new member comes, I'm right there in front of them doing the handshake and paying for the doctor bills.
